I've read many articles which state 1200 calories is the minimum your body needs. Sometimes going under 1200 is fine, but you should generally make sure your intake adds up... or else your body is going to think you're going into starvation mode and hold on to your fat more, thus slowing down metabolism. Also I heard skipping meals also slows down the metabolism and that it's better to consistently eat a certain amount of meals at regular intervals throughout the day so your metabolism is working all day.
I remember I went through a similar phase as you did once where my appetite was just generally low. I think it's good our bodies are getting used to having a smaller appetite, but we should also make sure that we eat the minimum required calories so that we're not starving ourselves hehe.
