Nice work side salad!

Well I put on 3lb this week. I'm a little annoyed actually. I was good - completely on plan and only had about 6 syns a day from monday to friday as I knew I had a party at weekend.

Went to the party, only went to buffet once. Didn't pile my plate up. Had 1 piece of cake and a little trifle taste as my sisters boyfriends mother had made it. I only had 2 alcoholic drinks - was on diet lemonade the rest of the time. Back on plan sunday/monday.

In class - this other lass had had 5 takeaways and she only gained 1lb. A male friend of mine had drank 10 bottles of bulmers on sat night, had a full english, pizza and a panini out friday lunch and he lost 2lb!!!!!!

The only thing I can think of is its my monthly cycle. Maybe I was retaining water. I have a meal out tommorow night - my friend and I are going to see the phantom of the opera, so have found this nice cheap and trendy bar that does a pizza and a beer for £4.99 not too far from the theatre.

Again I have been good monday to friday and no more than 6 or 7 syns a day. So hopefully it won't be a repeat and another gain this week.

Hi all, new girl here. Am doing slimming world and am down 6lb so far, still struggle some days when all i want to do is binge on bread and cakes, but I'm getting there. Still got 11lb to go to my club 10 and that seems like a lifetime away at the moment. Anyway "babysteps" is my motto.

Welcome everyone!

Debs - def water retention - no way could you have gained 3lb on that. Stick to it and it'll drop off this week! Frustrating, but be determined...

Well you were right. A nice 5lb drop this week. I feel a little like a yo yo at the moment. One week a really good weightloss and then the next a gain, then back to a good weightloss.

I have a beer & cider festival this weekend so I bet I gain again next monday. I will try eat decently from now till friday and jump back on it again Sunday.

Hows everyone else doing?

Well done Debs!

2lb off for me. I have a weekend away which I know will involve a lot of drinking so I'm trying to be extra good during the week. Well - I say this, but I went well over syns both Monday and Tuesday.

Lots of red days this week I think and then hope for the best over the weekend. I'm so close to target I can TASTE it!

Default Advice

Hi girls!

I am looking to starting sw on Wednesday will go along to the class. I tried it years ago and could not get used to red and green days. Is it simple I have tried ww but have heard sw is better as you can eat more if you are feeling hungry?

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Sooroo - I am still really new to SW - currently on my forth week. I found it a bit tricky to start with, but now finding it simple and tasty and lost 4lbs last week!

Hi,

I've been considering trying Slimming World, I checked the prices of the classes online and it seems to be about £50 for the 12 week pre payment, can anyone confirm this?? And is it worth the money, it seems like an awful lot.

I've tried it before but that was just buying the magazine and tbh I couldn't really get my head round it, if I did 12 weeks at the class, would it be possible to carry on doing it without the classes?

Thanks!

You don't have to do 12 classes for the £50 (which is about right), you can just pay as you go to get a feel for it to start with if you would prefer. It's £5 to join (half price at the moment, usually £10), then £5 every week. The reason people buy 12 classes for £50 is because it's basically buy 10 get 2 free.

If you really wanted to do it yourself and not pay for meetings you could easily go once, pay £5 to join and £5 to go to the first meeting and then never go back - the books do explain it quite simply.

However, the main reason Slimming World works (and what you are paying for!) is because of the expert advice you get from the consultant and the sharing of stories in the group meeting. I don't see why slimming world would work any better than any other diet doing it alone - it's the support that is the difference!

Oh dear, neither me or my bf have been properly on plan since September. I gt my stone award and then sort of fell off, and have been yoyoing between 11.12 and 11.8 ever since, can't seem to get back down to 11.7 despite my leader saying I can have another certificate when I do. Anyway I have upped my exercise and am going for my bronze body magic award. Just need to get back on plan and finding it very hard.

Smile share your diet story on TV!

Hi London Girl 88,

I'll preface this message by saying that this is NOT spam. I've been in touch with the lovely Suzanne at 3FC who has very kindly given her blessing to our project.

I'm contacting you from a television production company in London where we're currently making a series for the BBC about weight loss and dieting. We'll be filming tomorrow at the One New Change shopping centre opposite St Paul's, and we're looking for as many people as possible to come down and tell us about their diet experiences. As you're London based I wanted to ask if you might want to come and share your story. We'll be there on the first floor between 12.30 and 13.30.

We're looking to speak to as many people as possible, to get an idea of the huge variety of reasons that people diet.

If you might be interested at all please do contact me at alex.buxton(at)freshone.tv

I hope to hear from you!

Alex
