I'm not sure yet!! My story is not super typical, so that may account for the lack of comments.

Basically since high school I've generally fluctuated between 135-139 and was comfortable at that weight. Then this past spring semester, I studied abroad in New Zealand and while I was still working out on a regular basis, I completely let go of any food control as I really wanted to experience the cafe culture there. Well...I didn't realize how much weight I'd gained in 6 months until I came home and stepped on the scale at 151.6. anywhere from 12-16 pounds :-/ OUCH.

So, anyways--now that I've been back to university, since September I've lost almost 12 pounds, putting me right back in that 135-139 range within the next few days hopefully (weighed in at 140.2 today!! WOOT WOOT).

That being said, I'm not sure if people will notice when i go home for thanksgiving break because this is how i NORMALLY look... (and that said, no one at home said anything about me looking heavier when i came back, either...but that could've just been them being nice!).

If anyone notices, I think it will be my boyfriend and my parents. And that would be lovely to get encouraging comments from them :-) We'll see what they say tomorrow when i fly home!!

Only lost a net total of 7 pounds so nobody has noticed yet. Though I've kinda noticed in the sense that I actually had to drill makeshift holes in my belt LOL because it was way too big (it was big to begin with).

Best friend has not said a word. She is also my roommate, and bout the most I've heard is a comment about how bad we both looked at new year's two years ago. She never mentioned me being big either. I have respect for her silence as it appears to extend to fat or thin-no judgement from the bestie is good with me.

Co-workers started going nutzoid when I hit 30lbs lost. I got new work pants in a smaller size and all of a sudden I was "skinny chick" (I work with cops, what can I say?) and everyone was congratulating me and reiterating that they didn't think I was fat before or that I'd needed to lose. I love my job

Best male friend's mom - every time she sees me she calls me "twig" and "skinny mini" in that slightly play-envious kind of way. She makes my day! They didn't see me between high weight and goal pretty much, so it was dramatic for her.

My parents - to be honest I don't know what they'll say. The last time dad saw me in person was 20lbs ago, mom, at high weight (she's seen pics in the 150's, dad has seen my profile pic at goal with muscles.) The in-person reaction should be quite interesting, as I hadn't worn size 6 since middle school before this year.

I got my first notice by a coworker when I was about 60lbs down. Up until that point, I was eagerly waiting for someone to notice, because I knew things were changing. The first mention made me a bit uncomfortable though. Like, "okay, no takesies backsies because people are starting to notice now". Since then, two other people at work have noticed. None of my friends have said anything yet though.

I haven't really gotten alot of comments from friends. I've moved around alot the past few years, and whatever comments they have, happen on facebook with a picture poping up xD

Lets see...When I visited my parents for the first time in 9 months my mom said I looked "thin"(even though i'm slightly overweight) I dropped 30 pounds since she last saw me and I guess it was the shock.

I showed my closest friend a picture on my culinary school graduation(before he knew me) and he was shocked. His was one of my favorite reactions. I had lost about 150 at that point.

My grandmother. I saw her for the first time since losing weight. Her jaw dropped. Best silence reaction ever

I've never lived in a place long enough to really show a difference when losing. Mostly just 20-30 pounds. But because of my 6 foot frame, it takes a little more to really show it.

Ha! I love that I already answered this and now enough time has passed that I can answer again!

Today, actually, I've gotten the most comments. In the last two weeks my coworkers are starting to notice and ask me about it. I work with about 30 women, they notice everything.

But today I had two coworkers approach me at different times about it then in the kitchen I had 3 people (who already knew I was losing weight) ask me about what I'm doing. It was amazing! They were so impressed. "OMG, you look so narrow!" "Your boobs are smaller!" (Tactful they are not, thanks guys haha) "Your face and neck!" "You LOST weight over the holidays?! WOW"

My mother seemed less than impressed. Barely said anything when my grandma told her I was losing weight. My grandma would have you think that every pound is actually 20 by the way she reacts. She noticed at 18lbs lost and texted (yes, texted haha) me today asking where I was at now, which is 22lbs and she flipped about how great that is.

I just told my best friend today I've lost weight, she hasn't seen me.. we live 2.5 hours apart. She was super stoked and wants every last detail about my diet and exercise plans emailed to her.

My aunt who I only see 3 times a year noticed in a picture I emailed to her, she was the first in my family to notice.

My boyfriend is always saying something positive about my weight loss. He started telling me he could tell at 6lbs, I told him he was crazy.

When my husband came home form basic training, he thought i looked amazing. So i was happy with that. I went out to eat with friends a few weeks ago and the first thing one of my friends said when she saw me was " i need to start working out too " lol then she told me i looked great. It was nice, because she is a bit thinner than me, but the fact that she thought i looked thinner made me happy

People at work still ask if i've lost weight, even after i've been at the same plateau weight of 170 for a while. It's nice to get complements, however delayed! One boy i chat with sometimes, came up to ask me a question, then mentioned afterward, "hey...you've lost weight! yeah, you look good!" lol it was a nice complement. I'm engaged, but other than my fiance, i don't get many complements from men.

Last year in january, i went on a family trip to the northwest, to see all my relatives, whom we live away from. I was quite large then, and i didn't realize it. but i look back at the pictures from that trip, and i'm so proud of what i've done in a year. I was a size 18, XXL or XL everything, and i had a fat face.. I'm going back there in a few weeks, 40 pounds lighter, a size 14 pant, M shirt/panties, and i love my face again! I hope my family notices!

Pollifax, our progress is almost identical! We're pretty awesome =p.

Mum and Dad say that I'm a "Slim Jim" a lot.

When I was out of the room my Uncle said "Wow, she's lost a lot of weight hasn't she?"

One friend said "Oh my god, you have lost so much weight from your boobs, I'm looking past you and I can't see them out of the corner of my eyes any more! Now all I'm doing is just staring at them..."

Another friend said "You look good!" as she passed me at work, then later she said "I meant to say, you look good because it looks like you've lost weight!"

I showed a picture to a friend abroad and she said "OH MY GOD YOU LOOK AMAZING!" - So sweet!

Now the reaction I'm truly waiting for is my boyfriends. I haven't seen him in 7 months and I'm seeing him February 11th, I really can't wait to see his reaction to my loss!

Was discussing random things with a coworker after work at a bar and weight loss somehow came up - anyway she turned to me and said "Oh you have lost a lot of weight recently, we've noticed" and then we moved on, but it made me feel good.

It's quite funny, after replying to this thread today my Dad saw me in my workout clothes (they're figure hugging) and said "You need to be careful you might be wasting away." He was absolutely WRONG, but still it was a nice indirect compliment =p.
