I really agree with those who've said that buying a well-fitting bra is a better investment than new clothes! It makes even my super baggy shirts look better (and I still don't even have a "perfect fitting" bra yet).

I would definitely buy one or two new bras. There is no point of wearing a bra that has outgrown you. You will feel so much better in a bra that fits you properly. Perhaps you can buy something cheaper for now and then buy your favourite brand once you at goal weight.

Remember - a well fitting bra can make you look slimmer!

ugh. Victoria's Secret took lots of my money during my weight loss so far. I kept thinking I would NEVER get any smaller or lose mroe weight. Nope!

I am on bra size #3 now. But finally being within 3 pounds of goal, I feel good about finally getting the right size and fit.

I think I am going to buy ONE new bra Sunday (Intimacy, here I come!). Wondering how much my bra size has change. Hoping I have not gone up a cup size. I think H is as high in the alphabet as I want to go.

Anyone else here in stretchy bras? I need them because I spend a lot of my day lying in bed (disability), and ordinary bras just aren't comfortable like that. The handy thing is that they're all seeing me through a variety of both band and cup sizes. I'm using the Fertile Mind Superbra, and the Bravado Body Silk. They're both sold as maternity bras, so you end up ringing a lot of bra shops and saying, "Let me begin by telling you that I'm not pregnant..."

Bought two very expensive bras today. 34G down from a 40H. Happily, the store provides free alterations, so I can get my band tightened as I continue to lose weight. Yay!

Congratulations on finding new bras!

It is an issue I have as well. However, I could not believe you did not buy a new bra for 5 years! *faints dead away*

I plan to buy at least one new bra at the very least every 6 months. I'm not as big as you, but still in at the very least a DD.

Back in August, I needed new bras. I live in a very rural area so when my Dh had to go the big city to see his heart Dr. I went bra shopping, found a couple, that were ok.

I continued to shop. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, I found some at Herbergers that were a hit. After trying on about 10 in a variety of sizes.

I did the professional fitting in an expensive store in Denver, CO. They said a 34C. ROFLMAO!

I haven't been a C cup since I was 14.

Bras need to be tried on. And I HATE those molded cup bras. *barf* Molded cup bras are great for folks who still have *perky virgin boobs*

For the rest of us, who have girls that have gone south, not so much.

The last 3 I bought, and, yes, I did spend a butt load of money on them, are a 38DD. But they are comfy, they fit right, don't dig, bind, pull, stretch, or give me sores under the girls. Bounce is controlled as well. I live on a farm, work for a veterinarian, and work out, so I put a bra through it's paces.

There is no article of clothing better than a bra, that does it's job! I don't care what it costs!

Get a different brand until you're at your goal weight. Maybe your favorite bras can be a reward for meeting your goal?

Wearing the wrong bra is going to mess up your chest. It may make the sagging all the more worse when you're finally at your goal weight. Either suck it up and buy the expensive bras, or compromise and buy a different brand.

Maidenform and Ambrielle are decent. I don't know if they make them in your size, though. I have dinky little C-cup boobies (Used to be DD...and I have 30ibs more to lose. ;_; I hope they don't get smaller), so they fit me perfectly...those of you lucky enough to have a larger chest, I'm not sure. BUT...someone else mentioned Lane Bryant and when I was a bigger girl, I tried on their bras. They're really nice and shapely. You should at least try 'em on.

I'm quite large breasted as well. I am a 38G, so I know its terribly hard to find bras and they are expensive. Addition Elle sells G and H cups for around 50 bucks canadian and they ship to the states I think. Thats where I get mine and they have sexier bras than say..wonderbra. They have plunge and colors and prints. So thats cheaper than 88-150. Also a bra is very important. A good fitting bra will hold you up and make you feel sexy. You don't want the girls to feel left out in your transformation I am also a student so I know money is hard to come by, but its a good investment. Have you tried Torrid? You can measure yourself and see what size you are there. I'm a 44DDD there, its roughly the same as a 38G, that might work for you, and theirs are around 30-40 bucks.

XD just read that you bought a new one! way to go! nice drop in the size too! I hope I can be a 34G someday instead of 38G. congrats

I have switched to the Genie Bra and they are wonderful. The 3x fits me and as I have been losing it still seems to be adjusting to my changing shape up top. It is also extremely comfortable.

I've always wondered about this bra. Nice to hear you're having a good experience with it.

And for me, with my boobs starting to "go south", I love the molded cups. They keep my boobs up higher and fill out the shape. The soft, stretchy cups make me look saggy.
