Last day of September and I don't feel I've made any progress this month with weightloss although BGL has been pretty stable. 178 Sept. 1 and 178 Sept. 30! I AM confident that more will come off. Right now I'm working on weight I gained in 1985 when we bought this house in the country and I started to eat and cook like we were running a farm! My theory is that "old" weight is harder to ditch since it has more old roots.

Another "challenging" weekend ahead as I will in Ottawa Saturday and Sunday with Shirleyanne the food pusher. I will be strong and am taking some of my own food along.

By the way, Tomorrow is October 1 so we will need a new chat thread. Anybody can start it if I'm not in here early enough.

TGIF to us all and Good=Bye September.

Good Morning all!

fbs at 81 this morning. My back is seriously killing me! Yesterday I had an evaluation with a chiropractor. I signed up for it during a health weekend. IDK, it was weird..... The area of my back that hurts was "not a concern" and lots of other areas are apparently a problem. He did all these weird scans. I am supposed to get the results and a proposed treatment plan on Monday. What are your experiences with chiropractic care?

Ruth, I like your theory about old weight. If that is the case, I am working on losing the pounds that I lost after my divorce. I dieted while in grad school in 1982, getting down to a size 8. I got divorced, in a highly stressful job, and ate my way up the scale. Lots of gourmet dinners with friends) and "Oh,no, I am fine! ..... Eat another cheeseburger" Ugh.

I can't believe that it is the last day in September! Pool season is starting and I need to get in some serious practice time. Have a great day, all, I will be back later.

Rie

I wholeheartedly agree about the old weight. Most of my weight was gained in 1992 after my youngest step child got married and moved out. We started eating out often. It was so nice to sit down to a meal I didn't have to cook. But choosing the wrong foods did me in. It just seems that that old weight has had more time to grab a hold! If I knew then what I know now.....

Hi Ladies so Last night I decided that I was gonna cut my grass . 2 Hrs later and about 4 blisters later I finished But it felt good for me to get it done. Didn't leep well last night was up and down all night. I woke up this morning and my 13 year old tells me that she is having bad stomach pains in her right side. She was pale as a ghost and didn't look good. So we rushed her to the ER. They couldn't find what was causing her pain she seems to be doing better right now. She wanted to go to school so bad but I couldn't let her go . So I am home now and got lots of stuff to get down so I will check back in with all you later..

Check it out almost to 30 pounds

Just a quick flyby as it has been a really busy day. My first day with the baby while Mommy went to orientation for classes to start Monday. This is also one of my wash days that I told everyone that I have to have, but still found clothes in the dryer. When I looked to get something clean to put on the baby, I couldn't find anything but dirty clothes so ended up washing and folding his clothes too. Now he is fed and in his bed playing and I hope he will go to sleep. His Mom will be home in about an hour or so.

Staying OP and I must say enjoying it. Heard a woman say she exercises all throughout the day. Seems to work for me too. I did about 20 minutes while dressing this morning and then doing lots of bending picking up toys and putting them away. When he gets just a little older I'm going to teach him to do that himself.

Ruthie - Good luck this weekend dealing with the foodpusher. Hope you are able to deal with her.

Rie - Hope your back feels better soon.

Slmn- I agree that those pounds we've had a long time seem to be more difficult to deal with. That is why I've always looked for an easy way to lose it, but realize that if I had stayed at something that it would be gone by now or at least most of it would be.

Bonnie - So sorry about your daughter. I hope she will be okay.

Y'all have a great Friday and weekend.

Hi everyone

Ruth my sister believes a similar theory. She has m.s which is in remission some of her symptoms remind her of injuries and illnesses she has had on the past that never healed properly. Now she is more healthy her body is repairing damage it missed earlier.

Bonnie hope your daughter feels better soon. Good job with the lawn.

Rie hope you get your back sorted soon. I have been to an Osteopath and he fixed my shoulder. Deep tissue massage and acupuncture made it much better.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We have some really good weather just now so I am going to plan some outdoor activities before winter is here for real

Just a quick note to tell you about a recipe: Roasted butternut squash with maple. I cut it in half, cleaned out the seeds and baked it for about 30 minutes with the cut side down. I then cut it in chunks and put it in a baking dish. I drizzled with a little SF maple syrup and sprinkled with pumkin pie spice and baked for another 30 minutes. It got a little carmelized on the top. Oh wow - it tasted like pumkin pie. So good, I had trouble not having seconds. Very cheap, too, I spent only $2 on it at the farmers market. Just thought I would share
