Default Starting South Beach Diet Tomorrow

Hi everyone,

I bought every South Beach Diet book there is (I'll never have a shortage of recipes!)...I even have the new one that will be out in October on pre-order (it looks really good)...I know what i have to do, and I'm starting tomorrow.

To be honest, the only thing that will be hard is going without fruit for two weeks, but in exchange I don't have to count points, calories, carbs or fats, and that is so worth it!

I searched and searched for an eating plan that wouldn't have me weighing, measuring and counting every single thing I put in my mouth. I've found it!

I'm glad to meet you all.

Hi southbeach4me and

There's some great info here in this forum. Definitely check out the FAQ section - lots of threads about preparing for SB, maintaining SB, and of course the anxiety-fraught transition from Phase 1 to 2 (you'll see info about "Phase 1.5"). Posting your daily menus on the weekly on plan thread helps keep you accountable, can inspire you for other meals, and you can get great feedback on your ideas.

Again, welcome! =)

Welcome! I just completed my first week and it has already gotten easier. But like you the biggest thing I miss is fruit, especially berries and cherries. Around day 3-5 I felt off and battled some headaches but I was able to get through it and feel normal again.

The one thing I absolutely credit this diet for is stopping my snacking at night. No matter what diet I went on I'd do good all day and then snack crazily at night. This diet has removed the urge. I think it is a combo of all the extra protein and lack of empty carbs that cause cravings.

Good luck!

Good Luck and Welcome!
I'm trying to find out what book you're talking about and can find nothing about it!
