The last time I went to the doctor, I weighed in backwards. I told the MA not to tell me my weight (twice) and told my doctor that I was tracking my weight at home.
For me? I have a doctor who knows my history of weight loss. She knows how much I'm tracking my gains. She's very flexible in what she expects me to gain. And it's just too darn stressful for me to worry about it!
I wish I had the strength not to look. I haven't weighed @ home because I didn't want to become obsessed. So the doctor's office is like sweet relief to know that I haven't gained an entire child back.
I can't imagine knowing their all off. It would make me insane. My doctor's office and my home are off by several lbs. when I weighed 233 @ home I weighed 240 @ my doctor's office, so I track my doctor's office as my official weight even though the @ home said 233.
mmel I guess just keep track on one and consider all the other's bias.
I always stand backwards, but I weigh at home so I know what's going on. My home scale was reflecting a 5lb loss over my first tri, but the doctor's scale didn't pick up on it. I'm putting it back on so I'm not concerned anymore, but I think their scales are terrible for tracking gains and losses.
It wouldn't irritate me if it was a consistent difference from home and the doctor's scale. Like if all scales had a 3lb difference. I'm having twins, so I gain what I gain, I can't get freaked out over it too much, it's not worth it. I can take it off and get back on track after I have them. I just want some consistency.
That's what's frustrating for me as well. I can't keep track of what's going on because those scales are useless! My gains/losses are fairly marginal at this point, but who knows as time goes on? Congrats on the twins!
