off to see the birds again. We had 9 species of warbler and 6 sparrows just at out little cove yesterday. I love this time of year (and so does my massage therapist!). Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms, Moms to be and daughters of Moms.

Tall - I've been fighting the invasive yard weed battle here. No Fun.

Good morning and Happy Mother's Day. We all "mother" something - friends, pets, plants. I've always felt this was a very, very commercial holiday and my kids know it.

Church this morning and then a "me" day! It looks like a sunny one is coming up and I hope to spend most of it in the garden. I WILL get seeds into that raised bed. Somehow I will cover it with chicken wire as the cats think it's a great big litter box!

The sale yesterday was great and the leftover plants were donated to my Church for our Yard/Plant/Bake sale in two weeks. Two of the men loaded their trucks and took them to the Church for me which saved me a ton of lugging. I had to leave all the tomato, pepper and eggplant starts at the Fair Hall until the weather warms up a bit. Mark will share the watering duties with me. Now it's time to split some of my own perennials for the Church sale, taking good care of my formerly sore back.

This morning I fixed my lying ticker. That pesky two pounds that snuck back is trying to grow roots so ... Now I'll have the "fun" of changing my ticker down. (I don't have much of a life. )

Time to tiddle up for Church. I have to decide which dog to take this morning. Disney probably should be the one to go and show off her sparkly white teeth but Jazz is sporting his new furcut and plume-like tail. Decisions! Decisions!

Whatever you do today, be nice to yourself.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms, whether it be human or animal.

We're heading over to NJ this morning to enjoy a pancake breakfast at my DD's church and watch Carley's Cherub Choir special Mother's Day program. Afterwards, Monica and Carley will be coming back with us to spend the rest of the day with my mother.

We got our entire garden planted yesterday, and Jake promises to keep an eye on the temperatures and be on the ready to cover the tender plants if need be. I got quite a few of my planters and hanging baskets planted, too, and even made a rhubarb custard pie with my first rhubarb harvest. I'm taking 1/2 of it to my son-in-law who adores rhubarb, since he has to work today and can't join us.

Enjoy!

Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to everyone. Debbie, for someone who's mom doesn't like her very much you sure do a lot for her. I hope on some level she appreciates it, even if she doesn't show it.

Today - this morning is my first day "observing" Sunday School which I hope to teach next year. The process to become a teacher is quite arduous and will take a while. After church we are going to pick up a friend of my son's and then my husband will take them to McDonald's and the NYC Transit Museum while I get started packing here at home for our trip next week. Not sure what we'll do for dinner - we ate out yesterday - and I'm trying to finish up all our leftovers and things in the fridge before we leave on our trip. Maybe I'll make pork chops with creamy saurkraut!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Happy Mother's Day

I woke up with a sore throat and scratchy eyes which I guess means I got my husband's cold. Hopefully my son won't catch it too. Making me a bit grouchy

Appliance shopping was so draining and mind boggling; we went for 4 hours and made no decisions. Pretty sure we disagree now on the style of fridge/freezer too, the most expensive item. We both wanted french doors but now I think the freezer below will make it a hassle every time we have to dig stuff out. Sigh. It's a lot of money to spend and we'll be living with the choose for a long time.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning

It's a beautiful day here! We've been up since the wee hours and my niggles are almost cleared. That's good because I've found I have a really difficult time focusing on in house exercise when I have little clutter piles everywhere.

We're taking mom to brunch this morning...but first I'm determined to get on my recumbent bike. When I get home maybe I can find a fun project for the day.

Matilda, thanks for the kind words. I think it's great that you're going to be a Sunday school teacher. It really makes a difference for the kids.

Karen, I hope you don't get totally socked down with that cold.

Ok, that bike is calling my name.

Good morning everyone, and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Just returned from my 5K this morning, and I am so glad I signed up! It was absolutely perfect weather, and I improved my best 5K time by 2 1/2 minutes! I was completely shocked because I hadn't really trained for this at all whereas I was doing these regularly last year, but I think the drop in weight alone made a big difference, as I was able to move a lot faster being 20 pounds lighter!

Ready for some laundry and relaxing this afternoon, then having a friend over for dinner and to watch Dexter (my new favorite show!) this evening. Have a great day everyone!...and by the way, sorry you're not feeling well Karen, hope it passes quickly.

Ashley

Sunday morning! to all of you early birds who have already been here and are gone and also to those of you yet to make it here to our beach.

Ashley, you go girl! Cornell no less plus the scholarship! What is your major? Thanks for the reminder, I need to make my oil change appointment for next week.

Cyndi, so glad her eye is going to be alright. I have had detached retinas in both eyes with only one surgery being successful. There is enough of the bad eye left to cause double vision so I wear a patch or ocular at times.

Shelby, OMG you have an unbelieveable weekend! I would be a basket case if I was responsible for all of that.

Debbie,

Bea, I'm impressed with your 6 miles! I've never even walked that far.

Oh Karen, I don't envy you. I struggle so when making decisions like you are trying to do now and end up stressing myself out. In fact I'll be do for a newer car soon and am already dreading the thought of dealing with car salesmen.

I plan on a nice easy day today with just a little bit of this and not much of that. Yesterday as we were coming home, we found a baby honker running down the road, far from any pond and no parents in sight anywhere so we brought him home and gave him (or her?) to a neighbor who has a pond, ducks and loves animals so hoping he will make it. Just couldn't leave him out there by himself.

Be strong and eat as healthy today as you can. Later

Thanks TallandThin! I'll be majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations - essentially Human Resources. But that's the secret to my screenname, ILRPinkGirl I did my undergrad work at the ILR School at Cornell as well, so it's just a one-year masters program so I can get back to work relatively quickly. Hope you have a relaxing Sunday!

Ashley, congrats for such a fantastic time on your 5K! It IS amazing how 20 pounds less helps so much!

We're watching the Lakers/Mavericks game and I'm skimming through another WL book. I find I can always find a few new pointers plus I don't feel like eating anything, either. I do think a nap may be in my future...I did get upstairs and put 10 miles on my recumbent bike, another 10 minutes marching in place after brunch then a 10 minute speed clean in the house. Exercise sure helps me feel better.

Hope you all had a nice day!
