Thanks everyone, I defiantly think its due to the sports when I was younger. I noticed a new lump of fat on my legs yesterday and I have been walking everyday I think the fat just likes my legs
Lipo is looking like the only option.

I think you just have to embrace it! I have the same problem (maybe it is an English girl thing...). I played netball and swam every day for ten years so my legs are pretty well built and I can't pinch an inch with the callipers (which is more than I can say for my hips/lower stomach!). In the last few months I've started to cycle to work and my legs have definitely got bigger because of it so now I'm trying to cycle in lower gears (although it takes longer...). Aside from that, there isn't much I can do.

Frustrating though, my body fat is going down and my jeans size is going up, grr!

I agree with Riestrella. If they're big from sports, probably they'll stay big. But I think overall weight loss will help a little. But embrace your legs! There's nothing wrong with being a little muscely. Be proud!

I carry a lot of weight in my legs too, the best thing which slims and tones up my legs has definitely been inline skating

Can I ask what kind of leg exercises you do? From what you say I sort of gather that you do muscle BUILDING exercises. Running, cycling, that kind of thing?

If this is the case, you need to stretch your muscles out, because they'll have become big and bulked up. Maybe start doing pilates exercises, ballet or some other kind of dance. Think of a dancers body, they're always long and lean right? Pilates, especially, is excellent for toning and lengthening muscles. It's cheap and relatively easy to do as you can get some really good home-DVDs for not a lot and the only equipment you need is a small mat.

Hope this helps!

When I weighed less I had a lot of muscle and I know it's still there under all of the fat. So I avoid specifically training them (i.e. no inclines or resistance). Here an article that I plan to implement once I get down to a reasonable weight.

Hope this helps!

Default The Key is...

Stretching...its not so much about the exercise you are doing as how you are doing it. When we exercise we build muscle and we can do that in different ways. High weights and low reps with weight lifting builds big heavy muscles, low weight and high reps build strong long muscles. So when you are exercising make sure to stretch your legs very well both before and especially after!! Those muscles get all tight and bunch after you've worked them so help them stretch back out. If the muscle under fat in your (in this case my) calves is bulky then it will seem like you have a ton of fat around your calves. By stretching you help to elongate those muscles. Massaging your calves and thighs daily helps break up fat and slims your legs. Finally lipo has many side effects people do not immediately know about, do your research well before you have it done. Plus if your legs are bulky from muscle then lipo is not going to have the result you want.

I wish you luck and slim legs!!

I did Callanetics as a teenager, they're good for a nice lean look, and I think the leg exercises are primarily based on ballet. How about that, or other exercises along those lines? Pilates? Yoga? Ashtanga yoga if you want something a bit more vigorous?
