Went to a great little church here this morning. Enjoyed the service and everyone was so nice. Even gave us a gift....a mug (with tiny spoon) filled with hard candies and a book. I am really liking Indio. Almost want to move here but would have to go north during the summer...:-) Seriously we can't afford to buy anything down here. I'd be happy with a park model but don't want loans at our age. It's a little cooler today...sunny but the breeze is cool.

Talking about Wendy's made me think of McDonalds TV ad with the oatmeal...doesn't it look good though I'm sure too many carbs forme.

We had lunch out ...Mexican...I ate until I was full but not overly. Brought home about 1/3 of my entree but Idid share a dessert with dh and it was pretty big. Since my diet is pretty strict...for my diabetes...so I'm sure I got to much, but I still felt pretty good about my eating.

Stopped at grocery store for a couple items and came home. Watched the gold tourney. My sil and his brother were there but we didn't see them. Our sil sent our dd a pic of Tiger Woods but unfortunately Tiger didn't make it to the end.

Don't have time to respond to everyone but enjoy your posts and ideas. Take care,
Mary

Hi G.G.s,
Zoe, I glad you checked in, but I was so wishing for better news. I’ve been thinking about your sister & nephew a lot, these last couple of days. I guess that’s because they’re not that far from here (Asheville’s about 80 miles west) & I feel like you’re a friend. Please keep us posted about his condition, if at all possible, because I know we’ll all be worrying. And like the other G.G.s, I’m sending my good thoughts and prayers & well wishes & lots of positive energy to you, & west to Asheville!

Bunti & Rosey, it’s nice to hear that you use small flatware too. Like you said, KarenFL, it is funny that so many do that, & that I never knew it! Guess I’m not quite as strange as I thought.

Hi Laffalot & KarenMO & Mary & everyone else.

I need to get out of here & back to my library books. I somehow missed reading the last three Janet Evanovich - Stephanie Plum books(one of my favorite series because they‘re so funny). Gotta catch up!

‘Night all,
NCNancy

Just checking in to see whatssup...
KarenMO, I almost choked! I also used to manage a Wendy's and, in fact, have tattooed over my withered left bosom: "Shut up; you could be working at Wendy's".... that was an experience that I would never want to repeat!! Working with teenagers has to be the depths of ****......

Good Morning Everyone,

Thank you for all the "get better wishes." They worked - I am feeling much better today. I am off to my volunteering job this morning.

Bobbi, I am so sorry to hear about more headache. I send you "headache begone" wishes.

Rosey, so sorry about your burns. Try some vitamin E - just squeeze the juice from the capsules AND some aloe - just squeeze the juice from the leaves. They work like a miracle on burns.

Zoe, your sister will REALLY appreciate your visit. This must be a TERRIBLE time for her. Travel safely. I absolutely know what you mean about the SNOW. Just heard on tv that the worst storm so far is on its way toward us. Can this get any more ridiculous?

Everyone, have a great day,

Lynn

Bunti, thanks so much for the information, and yes, clearly you do understand how it is for my sis (and the rest of us, although certainly not quite to the degree of emotional pain that she is feeling) and your recommendations are gratefully accepted.
Thanks, too, Karen3, Rosey, Laff, Karen31, Nancy and Lynn. Your thoughts and your prayers are so helpful. They really are. I feel so “at home” here with everybody.
Trying to tie up loose ends at work over the next 3 days – we’re supposed to have a pretty bad snow storm, starting on the light side tomorrow, and progressing to another heavy dumping of snow on Wednesday. When will it ever end? I have to check our route down to NC and see what the weather will be like for driving down. I don’t know whether it would be better to try to fly or not. Things are so unpredictable when it comes to flying with all this turbulent weather. Plus, we will need the extra car once we’re down there. Oh, I guess we could rent a car at the airport. You know, I can’t seem to wrap my brain around how best to do this. I guess we’ll get it worked out.
So glad you’re feeling better, Lynn. That stomach virus has been awful this year. Everybody seems to have had it in varying degrees of severity.
Sorry you’ve had another headache, Bobbi – hope you’re better today!
Glad to hear that those burns are healing, Rosey. That must’ve been quite a scare!
Nancy, I’ve seen those Janet Evanovich books – never got to them, but maybe I will, now, if they’re funny. Seems like a few laughs right about now would be just what the doctor (would) order! Thanks for the idea!
Have a happy day, GG’s!!!

Good Snowy Morning ya all!
We have two hour delays in the school systems today, I'm thinking they should just cancel for the day.
Nancy...I love the Janet Evanovich books too. Don't ya love her mom, reminds me of the older Golden Girl on tv. Her favorite past time is going to viewings at funeral homes. Right now I'm reading Lisa Scottoline books, she's a mystery writer.

Lynn...did the flu work in your favor for the Biggest Losers weigh in? Our team really sucks, a few weigh the same, a few have gained. I'm down 1.4 pounds from last week. Last night dh made me a huge bowl of very salty popcorn and the scale is up 1.6 pounds this morning. I'm not upset because I know its all water retention but still.........

Mary...I know what you mean about buying more stuff at our age. We have our home paid off but not DH's newish Jeep. He bought it new in 2008 and we're still making payments on it.We decided to pay it off with our tax returns this year and it'll feel so good not to have that expensive payment.

Donna, you do not have that tattooed on your boob!

News flash...DH just said the schools have been all canceled for the day........duh, no kidding.
KarenMo...I love chili too and include lots of chopped celery in ours, you can't really taste them but makes it healthier and lower in calories.
Rosey...how's tummy, thighs and um........private parts today? Do you have an aloe plant? That works great too or you can buy it in a tube.
Zoe...I'm so sorry to hear of your nephews health issues and of course you have our prayers, also for your sister and family that have to agonize over decisions to be made. As to the snow, get ready......it's here now in Minnesota and coming your way. AGAIN. I thought I saw something in the news about New York melting the stuff to get rid of it.
I gotta take a break here, gets some breakfast,
&coffee, will be back later. My neck is bothering me sitting at the computer. I have exercises I have to do with it, stiff neck ya know.

The snow is so bad up here - there's literally no room for more than one car to drive on the side streets, the driveways and streets have huge, got to be ten or twelve foot snowbanks piled on each side - you can't see whether anyone's coming or not
Bunti...what cooking should did you go to? Are you a chef? I also see you sign your name Bobbi, are you a bobbi too?
Quote:
In cooking school they taught us that it was best to never put anything but garnish on the rim of a plate....even if the rim is 2 inches wide.

KarenFla...Yes, he's on vacation but his buddy chiropractor is filling in for him. I actually liked his treatment better, he manually put lots of pressure on my trigger points. What I have can't be cured for quite awhile. The cold laser treatments are starting to help, now I only get headached every other day, sometimes I can go two days straight without one.
Quote:
Bobbie...Hasn't your doctor been away? Maybe missed treatments brought on tense muscles and that headache.
Lynard.......what happened to your pictures?
Freda......WHERE ARE YOU?
