We recognize that, and the problem has been reported to the people who take care of such things, as Suzanne has already said. But we (as moderators and administrators who are not in charge of the technical side of things, and therefore cannot do anything about the actual problem itself other than report it) hate to have people stop posting in the interim, and so we're offering an alternative solution that will eliminate the problem (and in my personal opinion, make your entire browsing experience better)....Firefox.

Hopefully the tech folks will get this fixed soon, and I know they're aware of it.

Thank you, Amanda!

Since the problem seems to be browser specific, can any of you please let us know what version of IE you are using? Also, which version of Windows? This info could possibly help tech and I'd be happy to pass it along.

I should also let you know that the problem is not directly with 3FC but is coming from the advertiser. Hopefully 3FC's tech team can help the advertisers tech team resolve this. The more info they can provide to them the better chance it can be resolved.

Thanks

I'm using Windows 7 with IE8 and the site is taking 30-45 seconds to load each time I click any link, but only on this site.

I have Firefox installed, so I will try that.

I thought it might help if I gave my Window's and IE versions for tech support. If it means anything to them I am running these on a Intel Core i7 CPU.

Hope this helps.

(I just switched over to Firefox and the problem is definitely with IE because everything is super fast on Firefox.)

I downloaded Firefox and it works fine. It was still lagging on IE.

I've discovered that, when things seem stuck, I can hit the red x to stop loading the page and still get to the subforum. When I'm stuck, the bar at the bottom says:

Downloading picture http://csvta.target.come/TGTTCKDA/tdka_zag.gif?Log

and then a whole bunch more characters, mostly numbers. I can try to capture them if that will help.

Yes, it seems the issue is with IE. Gardnerjoy, can you not install Firefox?

Onederchic, I could, thanks! But I figure being a good tester of IE is important, too. After all, newbies aren't going to know that 3FC would work better with Firefox, so it needs to work well with IE.

I have not been visiting the site or posting regularly in weeks because of the lag. In all places that I have experienced the problem I was using IE8 on XP, VISTA and Windows7. I finally downloaded FireFox on my home PC tonight and the lag is gone. I will note that I only started experiencing the lag when the soyjoy ad came on, and 3FC is the only site I experience the lag. I have been having withdrawals from 3FC so I will use FireFox when I am need to post and read.

Thanks for all of your updates!

It looks like everyone agrees that it's related to the SoyJoy ad, and it only happens with IE. Hopefully the SoyJoy ad campaign will be over soon so that those who don't want to try Firefox will be able to have normal access again.

Google Chrome is also a fantastically fast browser
