Try to be patient. It took a long time to gradually develop diabetes and it takes a long time to improve the situation.

its takes a while for the impact to show. Now that its working well for you, it will keep doing a good job. Hurray, you are back in control!

Ruth,
I learned early August 2008 I'm Diabetic. My first non-FBS was 226.I immediately changed my Diet, began Walking,Exercising, staying active/busy and losing Weight. My A1C dropped from 8.2 to 7.1,6.4,6.8,then BAM 9 April this Year!Beginning April last Year,my BS elevated into the 250's,but returned to normal.I panicked so asked my Physician to Prescribe Metformin.I was almost on my third bottle of 500 MG's twice Daily, but discontinued when I began having painful Muscle cramps in my Legs..I was doing very well until a few Day's before Christmas 2009.Had Bronchitis, and since,my BS has been elevated at #'s I never had. What concerns me is: My BS returned to normal before, yet now am having problems. It was 151 the 12th..lowest reading since beginning 700 MG's more Metformin June 22.

Fatmad,
You and Ruth are correct about taking awhile, but it's blowing my mind that I naturally lowered my BS on Meter,FBS and A1C at Clinic, yet now am having a helluva time!I don't mean to sound negative, but I really don't consider myself to be back in control (not yet anyway).I honestly believe I have an Infection,Inflammation or something!

BB- I know how frustrating it can be. I have been on plan for 12 weeks. My FBS started out in the 225-250 range and it was scary!! Today was 104 and I flucuate from 104 to 135. I have yet to have a FBS under 100, but if I do my BS 2 hours after eating it can be in the low 90's. Just keep doing what you know to be right and it will improve. It already has improved so just keep on keeping on.

butter, are there other signs and symptoms of infection? Yes, that is a common cause of elevated sugars, but what makes you think thats it?
I don't think you had mentioned it before. Is your doctor checking that out?

Mary,
Since you've been Diabetic, have you at any time had elevations that returned to normal, then had them and it took awhile to lower? This is what is happening to me.I so miss 90s,low 100s-135!!I've had 2 BS in the 80s..an 87,then 85..TBH,I don't want my BS to be less than 90-95-100,or an A1C under 6..I wish this humidity would cool down so I can walk the Track again.I'm certain it would tremendously help!

Fatmad,
Each time my Temp is taken,it is low-grade,but everybody's Temp may not run 98.6 F.My WBC is almost always slightly elevated. In 2009 I had a Sinus Infection,Canker Sore on Tongue which made me slightly Ill,then Bronchitis. So far this Year,I've had a Sinus Infection and several Boils. My late Grandmother and Step-Mother told me if someone is prone to Boils,it is a sign of poor Blood and Raisins should be eaten.During and right after my Period, there is a feeling of a Womanly Bacterial Infection.I have some sort of Colon problem, for which I need a Colonoscopy.Just got over having 3 Weeks to 1 Month of 2 separate attacks of excruciating pain around my L Rib Cage. The Muscles were wadding up,it hurt to cough, sneeze and laugh. My Doctor wouldn't Prescribe a Muscle Relaxer,so had to tough through it,or take a Prescription Pain Medication, which makes me feel REALLY BAD!!I had a VERY painful Period this Month.I already discussed with my Doctor that I want a SED done..I go soon for my next routine,so he will order with other Labs.

Perennial Allergies,chronic Sinus/Ear problems,MSSA Staph,painful Colon cramps/spasms..seems the closer I get to 4-0 the more I fall apart!
