Been a busy week for me so sorry I haven't been on as much .. the weather must be nice wherever you are cos its pretty quiet on the boards lol ... how are you all doing .. remember .. even if you dont want to weigh in ..it would be nice to just have a chat to let us know you are ok

Had yesterday off .. but the whole day was pretty much in the kitchen lol ... as great as the Slow Cooker fudge is ... it does take a lot longer for me in the kitchen lol .. but I made 2 batches (each one takes 1.5-2 hours) ... a simple Peppermint fudge .. and then my fave Kahlua & Almond fudge ... the peppermint one hasn't really set properly but if it doesn't by Saturday night I will turn them into balls and make them truffles instead lol. As it was cold in the kitchen I turned on the oven to warm up the room .. so I figured I might as well put something in it lol .. I made a basic vanilla cake mix .. then added some lemon juice and rind to it ... filled 24 mini cupcake pans, topped them with a little shredded coconut and popped them in the oven ... started cleaning up the bench before I filled the second mini cupcake tray when I realised I hadn't put in the eggs!!! rofl ... so I added an egg ... then I added some Lemon Curd ... and some coconut .... so in a way I made 2 different ones lol .. hunny was my taste tester last night .. while the texture of the no egg one was actually quite nice .. the last one had better flavour using the curd .. so might try that again but add the curd in without the egg lol ... so they are off to work today Will be busy tomorrow when I get home from work as I will have 60 or so cupcakes to make, cheese log, mini quiches, and a couple of slices ... and maybe some fudge balls lol ..

So has anyone got any plans for the weekend??

hey guys! I weighed myself yesterday, I was simply too busy to check in though. So after a week of the royal show and lovely dinners ( as well has having very strict nights) I did put on some weight.

This encouraged me to go out for a run yesterday! Which I put a lot of effort into. So i weighed myself again this morning and I am back down to 82.6 kg which I'm happy about.

I'm no expert, but if you have a bad day of eating isn't it easy to shed it off pretty fast if you act immediately? So anyway I'll leave it til next monday to get another true reading but I'm feeling better now I know I didn't really put all that weight back on

Hi everyone ..

Wow it is pretty quiet isn't it?? Been a busy week so far for me ... had a great weekend at work .. did LOTS of baking on Saturday to take in on Sunday (6 dozen cupcakes, cherry ripe slice, kahlua/almond fudge, peppermint fudge, Besitos de Coco, mini lemon cupcakes, Cheese Log, Sausage Rolls, Mini Bacon & Egg quiches, and lastly Quinoa/Rice/Broccoli/Cheese bites. Had a lot of leftovers though so they were enjoyed by customers on Monday and Tuesday too
Wasn't feeling great yesterday ... I have had a leaking eye for the last couple of weeks .. but yesterday both of my eyes were puffed and weeping .... someone said it may be hay fever .. NEVER had that in my life!!! So now Im thinking .. really .. another health issue I have never had before?? Is it age or weight loss lol .. so gonna get something for it today and see if it makes a difference .. and if it does .. another new thing about me I have learned lol.
Going to spend some of today with my daughter, grand babies, friends and god kids (2 girls and a boy lol) ... so a busy day again .. but then I can come home and chill for a while .... the weather is miserable but we will be indoors at a friends restaurant on the beach so it will still be a good day
Yesterday I had an interview at Pita Pit with a newspaper. The owner of the one next to my work asked if I would be willing to talk about my weight loss and how Pita has been a big part of my diet for the last year which has helped and so I thought why not ... definitely happy to promote a healthy take out option .. so I did that and its going to be in one of the local papers some time in the next week or two I think .. very exciting.
Time to get organised ... oh .. an NSV this week ... well a positive anyway lol .. I bought a couple of pairs of slim fit size 16 jeans at work this week .. in the sale area for only $8 NZ each! Definitely a great bargain .. so I added in a couple of scarves (buy one get one free lol) as a treat (Im a scarf girl ... have HEAPS of them lol) ... I thought I would get them because of the price and figured I would eventually fit in them .. hopefully by the end of the year ... so I came home to see if they fit the legs at least and got them pulled up ... had to breathe in a bit but GOT THE ZIP AND BUTTONS DONE!!! Fortunately they have a bit of stretch to them lol .. but they are really comfy and happy me wearing them The waist is a little loose too .. but the hips are snug so Im not having to hike them up every few minutes lol.

So how is everyone else doing?? Is it fine where you are?? Have you had any NSVs over the last week or two?? Any adventures?? Learnt anything on the journey you would like to share that may help others?

Oh .. that reminds me ... one of the things I was asked regarding my weight loss ... "when you see other men or women of a larger size that remind you of where you were ... do you feel anything for them or think anything?"
That made me stop and think for a few minutes and it gave me an incredible realisation ... When I was at my biggest .. I used to hate being out and about and eating in public thinking that others would be looking at me and thinking that girl is eating way too much or something like that (even if it was the only thing I had eaten all day) .. I would be self conscious thinking all these things that others would be thinking if they looked at me .... so when I was asked I stopped to think about what do I think?? And omg .. I DONT!!! I dont look at anyone big or small and think oh poor you or what are you eating that for or anything ... Good Grief!! Does that mean that no-one thought anything about what I was doing either????? Of course it does ... well .. maybe not everyone thought nothing .. but I can guarantee that 99% of people dont care what you are doing when they glance at you .. they have their own lives .. they have their own worries or plans and THAT is what they are thinking of ... what a thought and what a weight off my mind!!
Its true we tend to judge ourselves in such a harsh way in comparison to what others do to us. True, we may have some people in our lives that are beyond judgemental for how we look or the choices we make .. and either we learn to live with that or get that out of our lives .. or at least push it to the outer limits lol. But thats it ... the world doesn't look at us .. we really aren't that important to the world in general to be looked at and thought about ... so really it comes down to ourselves .. how we see ourselves is really what will either help us or hinder us on our journey. So ladies (and any roosters too!) ... what do you see or judge about yourselves? How hard are you being on yourself? And how negative is your punishments if you give yourself any?

Something to think about anyway .. hugs all!

Weighing in today, because I'm eating out tonight for my birthday. I know there will be a water retention bump happening, and I'm too happy with my loss this week to let the mask tomorrow cover it up!

My first goal, back in May when I started, was to lose 50 pounds by my birthday.

I hit 50 pounds gone yesterday, and today is my birthday... So I did it and I am super happy!

Hoping I can see at least another 20 gone by the end of the year.

Katt that is awesome about your interview, well done And yes not everyone cares what other people are up to! Obviously there are judgemental types out there but honestly, I think the majority have more important things to talk about.

However, saying this and applying it to my lifestyle are two different things. When I'm out for a jog I'm constantly observing everything around me, cars and people.

I have fears about being judged for changing from a run into a walk to catch my breath :P Especially if I think they saw me START a jog, then I feel like I have to keep jogging until they are out of sight so they don't think I gave up to quickly haha. Pretty crazy I know. I try not to let cars etc dictate how I exercise. But I guess in a way it can be beneficial if it actually pushes me to run more than I normally would. But either way this is something I'm yet to fully overcome.

I will say though, over the few years I have experienced in my 20's I have become a lot less self conscious, and care less and less of what people think of me! Which is good and I'm sure one day I'll be just like my mother, not afraid of any confrontation. example: If we accumulated a $40 fee for late returns of VHS from blockbuster (this would happen ALL the time) Mum would bargain with them and say "I'll give you half if you wipe the rest" which they would gladly accept! I would never do it though out of what seemed to be shame :P

So we can all start being less self conscious and not so scared of what people think of us, because why miss out on doing something the way YOU want because you're worried about what strangers think, when they actually couldn't give a toss!

So that's my opinion

I look forward to my weigh in tomorrow morning.
Even though I had a slip up on tuesday and wednesday involving chinese food, and chinese food left overs and big mac!

However, I don't feel terrible because I have been eating excellent the other days, and went out jogging on mon, thurs, fri and sat. Sunday (today) I can't because I've left work at 8.15 this morning to go to another job at 9am! And I'll stay here for another 24 hrs before going home monday morning so no exercise today.

Though I think my muscles are thanking me for that.. the ones several inches up from my ankle have been killing me.
So fingers crossed that my weight has decreased despite chinese food indulgence

Yep .. back up again .. not as bad as I was at the start of the week .. so will think of that as a positive
Been such a busy busy week or 2 .. well .. last week wasn't .. I was sick and vegetating ... Sunday my hunny accidentally hit one of our dogs with the car so it was beyond stressful, and as he never grew up with pets he completely stressed so I had to keep a lot in again so that he wouldn't feel so bad. Teagan has had surgery on her leg now and is back home .. restricted movement, so I had to stay home on Wednesday (when I was due to go back to work after being ill for about 6 days!) .. then he took Thurs & Fri off while I went up north to work (last day up there tomorrow) .. so long days for me .. and then next week I will be pretty quiet again I think .. Im going away to work in another store about 5 hours away so will be staying up there Tues - Sat .. then will check back in when I get back .. probably on Sunday ... its exciting and scary at the same time for me ..
Im excited about a new place to work in and getting the chance to be Acting Manager for a few weeks ... but its scary hoping I dont screw things up lol .. plus I will miss my hunny and the kids .. be the first time we have been apart for more than one or two nights in about 10 years!!!

Still .. life doesn't stop so you just gotta follow where the road leads you and embrace new experiences often I got a compliment today from 2 people for how nice my outfit was .. such a nice boost considering I had been going in the wrong direction lol ..

I hope everyone has a great weekend .. apparently where Im going to there are a lot of lovely walks I could do after work (joys of daylight saving so it gets darker later at night now ) .. AND even better .. my gym (its throughout NZ) is on the floor above where Im working!! YAY!! I will be giving it a good shot at getting there before I head back to the hotel cos its open for an extra couple of hours after our store shuts Either that or it opens at 6am so could get in a workout before work So ... will be packing my bag with some gym gear!! Just have to be careful what I eat ... need to see how close a Pita Pit is lol ..
