Default 300+ Wellness Goals Challenge- April 2011

Since goodnuff hasn't gotten around to doing this I thought I would just use the idea and make new one for April. Hope she don't mind.

Here's how it works: Everyone of us has wellness goals. Break those goals up into small, achievable steps and challenge yourself to meet your goals by the end of the month. They can be a number of pounds lost; please keep it reasonable and safe, dietary goals, goals to change your mindset, etc. There is already a 300+ Monthly Exercise Goal so we won't do exercise goals here.

Let's all support and encourage each other on this life long journey. Don't get discouraged if you don't meet your goal, just keep on challenging yourself.

You can join at any time.

This website might help you WITH GOAL SETTING: http://www.goal-setting-guide.com/se...s/goal-setting

Remember goals should be...
■S = Specific
■M = Measurable
■A = Attainable
■R = Realistic
■T = Timely

Lets see. My goals for April are:
1. Lose about 10 lbs (give or take)
2. Start to trade more of the foods I eat for healtier alternatives (veggies instead of cheese-its for snack )
3. Start taking measurments & not just relying on the scale!

My Aprill goals.

1. No eating after 8pm, even if I still have plenty of calories left for the day.
2. 2000 calories burned in the pool each week (my budgeted amount is 1500 - this means one more half hour per week).
3. Appropriate eating while out of town over the Easter holiday. I already expect it will be more calories than I've been averaging, and that's ok - I just have to focus on portion control.

Beck book read! I will start with the tasks today. I have started this book twice and got to week three and quit. I plan to follow the book all the way through this time.

Have let some things slip over the winter...too busy with my dad's illness and getting things done after his passing. The sun's out, it's officially spring and I'm moving forward with my life and my goals.

Still doing Pilates three to five times a week. Have been sticking to healthy food choices in the house and there are no processed foods to be found. However, I've been guilty of overeating some foods and not eating enough of others. And the sleep cycle was disrupted for some time...Here's my goals for this month.
  1. Five cups of vegetables and one of fruit a day
  2. Get back to good sleep hygiene - regular bed time and eight hours of sleep
  3. Stay on top of daily nutritional supplements
  4. Add consistent daily cardio - 30 minutes
  5. Keep writing my blog for accountability
  6. Keep scouring what I buy/eat to keep soy out of my diet (I'm very sensitive)

I am still working on getting to 260 by the end of the month. Actually I want to be there by my weigh in on the 23rd as I hope to be out of town at Disney World on the 30th. The trip has been planned for a few months but now there is a chance we won't be able to go but I am acting like we are going and I am working towards that 260. That is 8.8 pounds to go.
I also want to increase my walking to at least 3 days a week. The problem is I get home so late and have to get my daughter to bed. If I don't get outside to walk I will use the Wii.
Goodnuff: Wow, one goal down already! That is awesome. How many weeks are in the book?
I look forward to hearing about everyone's progress.

1. Lose 10 lbs.
2. Get at least 7 hours of sleep per night.
3. Do my physical therapy exercises at least 5 times per week.
4. Stay within my calorie range (1700-2000) every day.
5. Do not drink any soda (which will be hard because final exams are coming up in 3 weeks and that's my main source of caffeine).

How's it going for everyone? WI was better than expected. I felt I did good food and activity wise but felt bloated and still was -1.2. My daughter started WW with me yesterday and I feel like I have a fresh start with the added support.
I've walked everyday this week...go me!
tw The book is 6 weeks and it is full of all kinds of activities for behavior/cognitive modification to help wrap your mind around doing what is healthy for your body. I really do recommend it for anyone who feels defeated and knows the changes that need to be made need to be forever. I hope your trip doesn't fall through, that would be a bummer. Good luck at WI!
