Catherine, OMG! I would be so pleased with B's across the board!!! I hope you have fun chuckin' those golf discs and burn off some of that crankiness! LOL

Luan, I gotta go check out ravelry now. Sounds interesting. Ew, 85, that's too hot for this kid!!

Lookingformeagain, YAY!! on fitting into the jeans and the weight loss!

mystyblue, Hi and welcome! Sounds like you're off to a good start! Good luck!

Americaninuk, glad to see you back! Sorry about the cable being messed up. I hate when that happens. I hope you enjoy the free visit at the gym. I know when I belonged to an all women's gym, it was like heaven!

purpleorc, how did hubby's dentist appointment go? Hope he's gotten some relief by now.

Sharon, glad to see you back but sorry to hear you're having a rough time of things. is all I can give you!

Cyn, yes, I was in tears too. The big guy Dan, he did so well on the treadmill. When they told him to run, I was shocked he could!!! Made me feel awful because I weigh less than him and still don't run on it It sure makes you realize you CAN do so much even at the weights that we are.

Beth, WoW!! 75 mins and I would be dying!! LOL Keep it up, you're doing great!

Today we went and got Jim's cpap machine. I hope he can use it, I think it would drive me nuts having that thing strapped around my head. All the symptoms they talked about though, I have, so maybe after he gets done with all the doctor visits and we get that one paid off, I might go in. My Mom goes to her sleep doc tomorrow and I'm hoping they can help her too.
Other than that, having sort of a hard time staying OP. I think TOM is approaching. Ick!

Default Addicted to.....

That's right, I am an addict. I think I am addicted to my bodybugg. It really keeps me accountable. I was determined to NOT exercise at all tonight because I have done some sort of exercise every night this week, and all weekend (and end of last week). I just wanted to rest my body. I came home, looked at the number of steps I still needed and calories I needed to burn and started walking (laps in the house). I did this for 45 minutes, and right where I need to be. I wonder how I ever lost weight before; I sure didn't get this much exercise in. And I have not been over 2000 calories yet this year. Yahoo!!!! Granted, the weight can start coming off any time now, but I know it is just a matter of time. Can you say "in the groove"?

Hi Everyone,

Sorry to be MIA but I am working 2 jobs right now and going to physical therapy. No time for personals but all of you are in my thoughts and prayers each day. I still make time for that each morning.

I am going to work at Netflix each day at 4 or 5 a.m. then from there go straight to my old work that I quit last March. They called me out of the blue on Sunday and asked me to come help them with the front desk. So, I am gone all day literally from before sun up until after sun down. Then 3 days a week I am at Physical therapy for my back which turned out to be actually both of my hips are badly out of place and need to be put back in. The right hip should be easier but the left one is pretty iffy. It is painful but I am praying I will be able to continue to go through the pain to be able to be painfree if that makes any sense.

So, I'm super tired.

Okay, gotta tell you guys something sooooo neat and kind of sad. It is super foggy here like bad and I got home around 5:30 and I noticed all of the neighbors hanging out and the two boys that live next door to me ran over across the snow and told me that there are a bunch of Moose going up and down the street. I looked across the street and there was a moose standing there then on the other side of the house there was another one. It is sad because I am a softy and the one was a mama and the other was her baby and they got separated and also it is sad because that means they are coming down here from the moutains looking for food. It was neat to see them so close and I have to say very intimidating. I have seen them from the car window off a ways but up close, whew, they are HUGE! Fish and game told us to go back in our homes and they will find each other and go back where they should be. Joel and I turned off our porch light and sat very quietly on the steps and here comes the baby right in our driveway and in our front yard and the mama came across the street and they joined up in our front yard and took off walking down the street.

Just wanted to share with you and tell you I am thinking about you all and hoping you are all well, op and moving your bodies.

Blessings and hugs,
Annie

Good morning ladies Well, i managed to stay on plan yesterday which is an accomplishment after the week i had binging lol...it's amazing how hard it is to exercise when you have been lazy for a week or so.. i thought i was gonna die riding my stationary bike lol.. wasnt able to do a whole lot of minutes, but any is more than i had been doing so lol...
i talked to my husband about the gym last night when he got home from work. i sure have a good man.. he told me if its something i want to do, and will make me happy to do it no matter what it costs. but he was happy it is so cheap lol..
no real plans today except for some exercise and eating right. i get so bored not working, but there are just NO jobs around atm.. im thinking about getting a puppy for both company and a good excuse to go for walks.. the only downside is when i move back to the states it will be expensive to bring a dog lol... plus i dont know anything about quarentine etc.. may have to check it all out .
hope everyone is having a wonderful day and staying OP..

Juliahood and Debbie: I have tried organic shampoos, but the problem is this stuff called SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) and all of the organic "natural" shampoos that I have tried have had that in it. I've been doing so much research on the subject of dermatitis and eczema and I've come to a few conclusions. I read that SLS can actually strip more moisture from your scalp and hair and thus the flare ups can rapidly get worse. All that shampoos that I thought were safe or even "medicated" have that in it. Apparently it is a typical ingredient in many products. In shampoos it is used as a lathering agent. Once I feel that things are healing up I will research and try to find something that won't hurt me. I think organic and natural is the way to go anyhow. If not, then I'll make my own lol.

purpleorc: I think you have a lot of the same issues that I have. It is such an annoying struggle. Grrrrr skin!

***

Since I have stopped washing my hair, I have had a few itchy moments and have scratched those areas. However, even with my scratching it isn't as red and irritated as it was before. I found that rinsing my hair twice, once in the morning and once a night is helping calm the natural oils. Last night my hair was really dry and this morning it is soft, but I will be doing a coconut oil treatment over the weekend. Right now my head is itch free and my hair smells pretty good. It is very soft and a bit limp this morning, but still it looks nice.

It is cold here, burrrrr...trying to keep warm. I hope everyone is well

Hi ladies and good afternoon

The weather is very cloudy here no sign of any sunshine today. We have the odd shower as well mixed in to the dry spells. Though along with the rain brings warmer weather which is nice.

I am tired at the minute after my DH has had a restless night. He went to the dentist yesterday due to toothache. He had an xray upon the infected area. Unfortunately the news is not good. Has expected there is an infection but it is widespread over the area of 3 teeth. Antibiotics have been prescribed for 5 days to see if that clears the infection. Though the dentist is thinking that he will have to go to a specialist (they are located at hospitals and come under the title of orthodontist) for this area to be treated. DH thought that the dentist thinks that the area may have to be drained. At the moment my DH is asleep as he is so tired from the painkillers that I have given him. He is not use to taking any medication and hates taking anything. So he is bad as he is only too willing to take what I have suggested. At least he is not in pain whilst he is asleep so that is at least one blessing to be thankful for. At the moment our Rizzie is laying with him kind of like a watch. Dogs are so acutely aware of things and he knows my DH is unwell. So he is sticking to him like glue at the minute.

I have got my rings back from the jewellers after being made smaller. When I took a look at my rings I was so shocked and thought they had made them too small. They looked so petite I thought they were never going to fit me. Though of course they did and perfectly. They are that tiny now it will not even fit on my mum's smallest finger (pinkie finger I think some may know it as). The real test for me and big wake up call I think when get my sister to try my rings on. To me she has always had long slender fingers which looked elegant. My hands were small and dumpy looking in comparison. The smaller I have become I see more and more of that we look more alike that I we ever did.

Americaninuk Your welcome for the recipe. It is only during my TOM do I crave sweet things. I could literally murder for sweet things and about 3 times a year my TOM are humdingers.

The gym session sounds perfect especially if your not going to feel the odd one out. If like me I hate to stand out I prefer to blend into the crowd so to speak but that has always been me a little shy.

Trust me having a dog is a sure fire way to make you do regular exercise. You know that the dog needs it regardless of how you feel so you drag your behind up and off the sofa. It is lovely in the warmer months but not quite so kind in the winter but hey you have to take the rough with the smooth.

voodoo1 You would think when ladies get to a certain age that they would start to think that symptoms may be related to the menopause. I hope the new regime that you start is beneficial and makes you feel better.

Glad to hear that Dad has turned the corner health wise. I know how worrying that can be my fathers health is not the best and last year was particular bad for him. It makes it doubly difficult to stay on plan and food sometimes has be out which may not have any healthy choices so you pick the lesser of all evils.

dgramie Oh it certainly brought a smile to my face this morning thinking about your DH and his exercise DVD. Why do men think that they are supermen is beyond me maybe its this macho thing

Hope you’re having a POP day and the bribery is working with the kids

keeperofthehome4 Like you I am a bit hit and miss in the exercise department. Did well at the beginning but not so well for the last couple of days. Must get myself in to gear I know I feel good afterwards its just the getting going that's the hard part

Like you I also can knit and crochet but haven't done anything in a long while. I do prefer crocheting but there are much nicer patterns in knitting. The crochet patterns I have seen tend to be old fashsioned I wish they would get up to speed in the UK. My grandmother used to crochet and do a lot of the very fine work that took the patience of a saint to do not to mention great eye site. The work when finish went around things such as table clothes she had embroidered to give a lace like finish to them or to dressing table sets.

azcyn It is great that your car can be fixed and if you wish have the opportunity to buy a car with low mileage with more room for the family.

We do not have the biggest loser in the UK which is a great pity but by what you have said that challenge was mission impossible. Like you said unless anyone has been overweight you truly do not appreciate that you can not run. It is a hard enough task to walk when you're very overweight like I was never mind even trying to run.

CatherineM I hope you remember to put down your number of minutes exercise that you got in at the bus station at the shopping centre they all count up.

What is the name of your book? I know that your an authoress but have omitted to ask you

Baz xo Good for you getting your 75 minutes for the day your doing way better than me on that front at the minute. I am sure the more you exercise and the lower your weight becomes the easier it will be. It has been the case for me. Just at the minute I am being bone idle just plain and simple.

No need to be sorry about the name. I fully understand why you think of my name in association with the whale especially with this site being a weight loss site. No as you see I am one of those weird creatures from Lord of the Rings

Yes I watched the same programme as you did on ITV called extreme slimmers. Yes I could feel for them in a big way losing the big amount of weight but still not being where they want to be body wise. The man that did it by diet alone did tremendously well whilst battling his addiction to food. I see he uses the method of shopping every day that way the food is not easy at hand to give into. Good idea if your not to be trusted around food. Whether I go down the route of having a tummy tuck I don't know so I am giving my time a cooling off time to think clear headed about whether I wish to put myself through it. I will not bounce back so easily with having a poor immune system to begin with and take longer to heal.

Debbie54 Poor DH is sleeping for the minute but he is unwell the infection as really knocked him for 6. I feel really sorry for him as I know from experience toothache is horrid.

I hope your DH gets on OK with the cpap machine. I know I would find it very difficult having that strapped to my face to sleep. I have to have peace and quiet to drop off. The noise alone would drive me crazy. I hope your mum gets on OK at the sleep doctors and finds some relief that she needs.

Realist I see that the addiction is having a great positive effect. If it keep you accountable and active then it is brilliant. Good idea to have a rest day every so often for your body I do that also when I am in full swing with my exercise programme. (sorely laking at the minute)

dogpal Wow one busy lady at the minute with your schedule at the minute.

Wow moose up your street. I bet that is a sight but kind of scary as I imagine them to be big creatures. (not native to the UK) > We get nothing like that were I live though we do have a lot of urban foxes that we see but that is about it for my neighbourhood.

Jacquie668 I use a oil treatment on my hair especially if my ends of my hair are feeling dry. I use baby oil with lavender oil mixed in. Like you say your hair can look a bit limp and bedraggled in the morning. Though if I am wearing my hair up it hides a multitude of sins and you would never guess it looks a bit worse for wear. Like you say it smells really nice with a lovely oil running through it and makes it super soft.

Getting my scalp sorted was really nice as it really horrid having sore patches and scratching your head till it bled. Even if I was asleep at night I was still scratching unbeknown to me and making a real mess ( I have longish nails and they can make a real mess) Doctor had to put me on a very sedating antihistamine at night that took me to a very deep level of sleep that would hopefully prevent me from scratching. I have made some scars from the bad scratching I did whilst asleep. Fortunately I had none on my face but I have others on my body but have gone a silvery colour now through age.

I am not sure if you will find help on this site http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/index.php it is a site which is about the care of hair in particular long hair. Though I am sure that if you ask about shampoos or products others will shed some light on to produces free from the chemicals in particular. There is a lot of information that I found useful about caring for my hair that I never ever thought about that just may help. They have a section as I recall on the "water only" (WO) method of caring for your hair as you do. I can see from your avatar picture that you have long hair. Even if your hair is not long now or your not growing it any further you can still use some of the basic hair care principles.

I think I will go and put my feet up and rest whilst I can so till next time take care

I so need to vent and all or i might eat something I shouldn't. Me and my boys speech therapist are so about to go around. She doesn't want to tell me anything to help their therapy at home and all. And we home-school for religious reasons and all well it's our parental right to. SHE KEEPS TELLING ME THE BOYS NEED TO BE IN A SCHOOL AND ALL THERE NOT EVEN IN K YET. I'm working with them on my own and they are doing wonderfully and all that. She keeps telling me I'm messing my children up Excuse me but she has no right to say that and all. She has no clue about homeschooling she thinks all kids that are will not be social and no how to act around other kids. WRONG FREAKING WRONG. My oldest is in 2nd grade and all her subjects is 3 rd grade or higher and her reading is 5th grade level. And same with Grace she is in 1st and can do 3rd grade work and read at a 3rd grade level. I've had them tested. So please tell me where I am messing my kids up. Plus they play sports to meet other children and we go to church to be around others. They know how to act. Same with my boys yes they are harder with their Autism but they are making progress. She even gets mad if I'm working with them. HeLLO they are my kids.. She hates I'm doing pre-school with them but they are thriving so go figure. Sorry just needed to vent before I ate something that would kill my losing weight.

Purple~ There are alot more crochet patterns out there now that aren't old fashon. I can give you some sites.

Want to reply more but kids need me

Debbie54: I know when I saw Dan run..I thought you have NO excuse! I was so proud that he did it with no complaining. He definatley has his mind in teh right place.

Realist: I am considering investing in bodybugg..sounds like you really like yours.

Annie: ahhhhhhhh I am sooo glad the mommy moose found her baby. How exciting for you to be able to have wildlife that close. THe only thing we really get around here is coyotes..and I am sad to say they prey on the rabbits and any moms that have had kittens.

Ally:
Your reasons for home schooling your kids are your reason and she should not push public school on them if that is not what you want. Maybe you need a new speech therapist?

As for me:
another wonderful day off work that I am not going to waste! I am going through stuff and tossing to get ready for a yard sale! (any money I earn is going towards my Slumber business lol) I have realized I do miss going to the gym. I know Pure fitness is opening one literally right down the road. My work gives us a discount BUT I dont want to get into a contract and I think or am pretty sure they require it! Anyone use them? Dont know if they are nation wide or not. My kids and hubby miss going as well.

Well ladies lets see how much water I can get into this bod today! Toodles

purple - check out ravelry.com. its seriously an awesome site for yarncrafts!

jacquie - i also have dermatitis. this time of year is killer for me. but i just found this solid shampoo that has done wonders for me

http://www.lushusa.com/shop/products...soak-and-float

it really does smell like a campfire, but it has put my head at rest. also, the smell doesnt last on the head for long. one bar lasts up to 60+ washes. plus theres no packaging so its good for the environment.

Purple-It's called Curveballs, as in the proverbial things that God throws at your head occasionally.

Keeper-I homeschooled my foster sons for two years. They were socialized just fine with little league and boy scouts. Although they weren't around many girls then. I don't think they minded though.

It looks like it might finally warm up above zero today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Keeper, I bet a new speech therapist would be the ticket. If you are in a well populated area, you can probably find one to work with you in stead of against you. In this day and age there is no excuse for her to be so irritating about it all.

Ally - I would be looking for a new therapist too! Someone who is sensitive to alternate education. Do you have any homeschooling associations in your area who might have a referal list of professionals?
