Shannon, way to avoid the brownie and stay OP! I end up with weird dinner combos sometimes too when I'm trying to use up leftovers, or what I have on hand, etc. and at the same time stay healthy. Last night I roasted tomatoes b/c I don't like excess amounts of tomatoes raw, but will eat them roasted, and have so many from the garden to use up!

BF was sick so we're having the triple tail tonight. Last night instead I had a serving of turkey meatloaf from the freezer, roasted a little bit of broccoli and lots of tomatoes with herbs & OO cooking spray, and stayed right at 1500 calories for the day.

Friday:
B - protein pancake w/ 1 Tbsp. apple butter, 1 c skim milk, coffee w/ 1 Tbsp. h&h
S - 1 cup blueberries
L - Bean Salsa w/ 2 oz. tuna, cucumber
S - 6 oz. lf yogurt, watermelon, 1 oz. raw almonds
gym - elliptical, shoulders... didn't do the abs yesterday either, I'm so bad!
S if needed - hm protein muffin
D - grilled or baked tripletail (thinking of making a tin foil bed and putting leftover bruscetta over the fish and baking it), salad w/ light dressing

Thinking ahead to the weekend. Goals: Stay active, don't drink alcohol, get plenty of rest. I've got a big weekend party-wise (thus food & alcohol-wise) coming up for 4th of July. A 3-day weekend and 2 big annual parties with lots of friends. Must be extra vigilant right now.

Saturday:
E - gym early, or fishing if BF wants to take the boat out
B - protein pancake w/ 1 Tbsp. apple butter, 1 c skim milk, coffee w/ 1 Tbsp. h&h
S - 1 cup blueberries
L - Bean Salsa w/ 2 oz. tuna, cucumber or other veg (this is the end of it, lol)
S - will probably be the usual - lf yogurt, watermelon, hummus & pita or peanut butter (my "weekend treat" healthy fats)
D - ? Was thinking of defrosting a piece of pork loin and making one of Amanda's pork recipes. Will eat more tomatoes, whatever's coming out of the garden (bell peppers or eggplants), or if I score anything good at the Friday farmer's market that will be my side.

Sunday:
E - bike ride early?
B - protein pancake w/ 1 Tbsp. apple butter, 1 c skim milk, coffee w/ 1 Tbsp. h&h
S - 1 cup blueberries
L - Ha, got to make something else for lunch. I'm sort of in the mood for egg salad on ww bread, may make a batch to last several days. + veg.
S - will probably be the usual - lf yogurt, watermelon, hummus & pita or peanut butter
D - That pork loin? Also thinking a big batch of ratatouille would be delicious and use up some of my tomatoes. I know I've got one of Meg's recipes around here somewhere...

Megan, I like your idea of posting your weekend in advance. My problem is that I run out of food on Friday and go shopping over the weekend, so I don't know what I'm going to buy yet!

Friday:
B - shredded spoonfuls, blueberries, skim milk
S - apple
L - @work meeting, I had planned on two slices of veggie pizza but it turned into one veggie, one bbq chicken, and one cheese
S - yogurt/blueberries/granola
D - stir fry of bok choy, tofu, and spring onions over rice, with some sort of asian style sauce. Maybe I'll add water chestnuts or bamboo shoots too.
E - none in particular planned for today. Depending on the weather tonight I might walk the dog or go swimming.

Thanks, Jessica. As you can see my weekend isn't set in stone, more like "these are some good options I have available to me that I could eat at home or take somewhere". It's hard to set it in stone because I spend more time with BF, not at work, so I don't know exactly what I'll end up doing. But if I don't think about it at all ahead of time I end up without a plan and then bad things happen.

When I go shopping I do check the sales flyers online ahead of time - a lot of grocery stores have them posted - so I can actually make my list from there. See what's on sale, what I can make from that, and then get the rest of the ingredients for those dishes too. I realize it's pretty obsessive compulsive of me, but I'm a very organized planner at heart.

I never think about roasting tomatoes, but I love them when I have them out places. Have to add that to the list. I'm guessing they need less time than other veggies?

Did 60 minutes of mixed cardio last night - 20 min treadmill with lots of speed and incline changes, 20 mins elliptical, 20 mins stationary bike. Longer on any one thing wasn't comfy...

Today:
E: planning yoga when I get home, was way too sore for more than walking to the bathroom this morning.
B: smoothie, coffee
S: string cheese
L: grilled chicken salad
S: kashi go lean, yogurt
D: no idea... either ground white turkey over rice with veggies or out to eat somewhere
S: brown cow junior

Good day everyone!

I don't even want to talk about food. My tummy troubles yesterday finally ended mid-afternoon, but until then it hurt so much that all I could think about was keeping it full, and I did do that. Interestingly enough it all ended after I ate a HUGE flour tortilla loaded with cheese, heated and rolled. Why does cheese seem to soothe but milk and yogurt do not? I'm almost thinking that it is milk that caused my troubles. When I wake up with a tummy ache I usually have a bowl of cereal or a glass of milk but it doesn't seem to stop the ache. I don't know.

E~nothing. I opted for more sleep and I feel great today.
B~1 slice left over pizza (see why I didn't want to talk about food!)
S~hard boiled egg
L~lunch out with DH and the kids--we haven't chosen a restaurant yet, but I generally make good choices
D~lemon pepper chicken and salad

Allison, milk doesn't usually make my tummy feel better either. Yogurt used to, but lately yogurt has been more upsetting than soothing for some reason... Glad you are feeling better today!

Okay, I have to rewrite the afternoon already...

B: smoothie, coffee
S: string cheese
L: grilled chicken salad from Chick Fil-A, 1oz. sample of their Cookies & Cream milkshake
S: Trader Joe's Sample Day - 1 serving of salt & pepper rice chips, 1 mini ice cream sandwich (I think it was soy, so there is that...), 1 apple cranberry bran muffin
D: still don't know yet...
S: hot tea, maybe some TJ chile spiced mango - depends on dinner

I still can't say no to "Would you like to try a sample?"

My goodness - crazy morning. Could not sleep at ALL last night, but still got up to do my run this morning, and glad I did it...just went out to lunch and the available choices were NOT good. I ended up with a grilled cheese sandwich and a cup of tomato soup....at least the portion was reasonable (it really -was- a single cup of soup and I only ate half of the sandwich) but my, it was greasy.

B - Egg whites, chicken sausage, broccoli - scrambled, 1/2 cup grapes
L - 1 cup creamy-ish tomato soup, half a grilled cheese sandwich
S - Kashi Granola Bar
D - Grilled Chicken, some rice with caramelized onion, some kind of veggie, salad (I am not in charge of cooking but the meal will be on plan).
S - Glass of champagne

E - Kick-butt 55 min of intervals on crazy, crazy hills.
