one serving of bread/grains is one ounce. one ounce = 28g. be careful when choosing bread at the store. you want to find something high in fiber (4g or more per 28g serving) low in sugar (3g or less) and preferably with no high fructose corn syrup, and no artificial ingredients. When i first started to re-introduce grains, I learned after a week of eating it that the bread I had was 56g per slice! that's 2 servings!
now i know to cut it in half, buy smaller slices, and/or enjoy open faced sandwiches.
