I have read quite a few, but just finished Jillian Michaels, Master Your Metabolism and really learned alot about the chemicals, toxins and pesticides in foods and how that can affect your eating habits, health and hormones. I really got a great education with it. It has helped me balance my system more, which has also helped me eat less.
Quit Digging Your Grave with a Knife and Fork by former Arkansas Gov. (and presidential candidate) Mike Huckabee is a great little book. Filled with his trademark humor, it's a very inspiring look into his own struggles with weight.
what a briliiant idea to build up a library!
I am currently enthralled with three books:
1. Yoga Guide to Eating (Eisenstein). reading while eating alone is a huge sensual explosion! wow!
2. Beck Diet Solution. prepare prepare prepare and relax is the message I'm getting. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is proven successful so why not?
3. Breaking the Food Seduction by Neal Barnard MD has been indispensable. After several years battling grey sheet craving (OA) this scientifically-based brain-chemical approach to reduce/eliminate cravings is excellent, if cravings cause impulsive behavior--this is a way out.
I love this thread. Kudos to starting and contributing, all of yinz!
