Weightloss Problem

  • Hi girls

I am having a bit of trouble losing weight, I'm eating healthily, very low fat meals, low fat crisps which I have once a day, wraps with salad for lunch and I'm still putting on weight, I'm exercising every day too, if anything I'm actually putting on weight, I'm now 65kg. Help?
  • I would suggest to count your calories intake, for a few days, just to see. It's easy to underestimate your calories intake. I thought forever that the wrap I was having every day for lunch was around 400 calories while it was much more around 650-700 calories! yikes!!

Maybe the trick is also in the portion size? Even if it's healthy, the portion might be too big?

Counting calories for 2-3 days would allow you to know if it's really the problem, and if it's not, to look for others reasons of why you're not losing.

    Good luck!
  • Hi Turbo!

To be honest, I don't eat a lot for my tea, but for my lunch I have a wrap which is homemade, a packet of baked star crisps, a tiny toffee crisp bar and thats it, for breakfast I have 1 cereal bar and then for my evening meal I have small portions of stuff like vegetables and meat, my mum and dad have managed to lose a lot of weight but I haven't. but yes I have a calorie counter on my phone and a walking counter which counts my steps so I will have that running tomorrow and I will let you know how much weight I've lost and how many steps I have taken
  • But how many calories are you eating in a day ? You can be eating healthy foods but portions may be too large. To lose weight you need to eat less and exercise more.
  • I agree! Make sure you're counting your calories! Also, your body will conserve its energy sources (calories) if it's not getting the right nutrients or enough nutrients, so if you're eating too little, you may not lose either. You need to put enough into your body that it can function.

Make sure you are eating healthy, enough, and getting the right nutrients. Balance is important.

    Good luck!
  • low-fat is one of the biggest deceptions in weight loss- it's actually very easy to gain weight eating things that are "low fat." I recommend counting your calories instead- you might find that you're eating way more than you need.
  • How do I count calories? My evening meal is prepared for all 3 of us. I'm eating the exact same things as my parents and they've lost a bunch of weight losing a few stone between them but I've not lost any. I'm exercising daily too. I'm at a loss to be honest
