Exclamation Been there...

I did the same thing as you, tried and got off track about 4 times in a row. Every time I would gain more weight back. I happened upon the book "Enter the Zone" by Barry Sears, PhD. I has saved my life. I have been following it to the letter for 6 weeks now and I have never felt better or more positive about the outcome. You can get it on Amazon.com for about $17.50. Please try it, I know it will help you

thanks everyone, you gave me alot to think about. i still am confused about what way is right, but in the mean time, i am just eating less and trying to make healthier choices. i am still up in the air with this high protien plans. but i did do great yesterday, got my excercise in , and just have to take it one day at a time. all i know is i cant back slide anymore, i have to move forward.

i guess if i just eat less, excercise more and drink my water, i have to lose weight. just like i have always been told. there is just so much information coming out everyday about what is good for you and what is not. i guess i just have to listen to my body, eat when hungry stop when full. but it just seems like when i stay with my healthy program,ww pts or staying within a certain calorie range, i wind up going to bed hungry. i know the most i can eat in a day is 1400 cal. i do aim to excercise for 4 days a week, with a mixture of aerobics and weight toning. i usually do do it 4 times a week too. for about 45 mins. i am 5'3 and weigh 181. i guess i just have to have patience and trust myself to make the right decisions. and keep reading everyones tips and advice, thanks again.

Default about WW points...

I did Weight Watchers also. I was always hungry too. But I did notice if I cut out bread and pasta and added more variety of veggies and fruit and more protein (meat or soy) I was not hungry and I lost more weight each week. That's when I discovered the Zone. What I did by accident was actually the Zone plan, which IS NOT a high protein diet. It is an adequate protein plan. YOu have to have carbs to think straight. You have to have enough protein so you don't lose muscle mass as you lose weight.

I eat about the size of my palm in protein every meal. I also add to my plate at least two veggies or a raw veggie salad, and a peice of fruit. I have lost 17 pounds since March 6, 2002. I have also been trying to excersize 3 to 4 times per week.

Try my morning shake, it really is delicious!
1/4 cup slow cooking oats, raw and grinded in your blender (make sure they are the old fashioned oats, no the quick cooking)
21 grams soy protein powder
1 cup vanilla soy milk
1/2 cup frozen fruit (the unsweetened kind)

blend and drink with a straw, it tastes like a fruity oatmeal shake, and will carry you through the next 4 to 5 hours without hunger and it is good for your heart with the oatmeal in it.

good luck to you

Default 'Before' and 'after' photos of me

Willbethin and t-girl if you want to see a couple of before and after pics of me go to the 100lb club near the bottom of all the headings and go to the 'muscles' discussion. Yeah I know a werid title but it will make sense. I don't want to keep posting attachments everywhere on the boards. I have actually 'walked the walk'.

Talking ME too........

I don't post here that often but I had to post this. I swear the stories here are just like my dieting experience. I know what I should be doing and I keep making excuses to start the next day. I did WW as well about 20 times. It makes me obsessive about food. I am just starting fitday and trying to exercise often. I have come to the conclusion that I may have a binge eating disorder and that I need to stop dieting. I generally eat well, unless I'm dieting. Good luck to you willbethin. I know we can all do this with baby steps.

HI willbethin
Since your taking advice from everyone, or at least listening to it. Here's another veiw.
Have you ever approached it on the spiritual side ? You would be surprised as to how much it actual helps when you approach it spiritually. The bible teaches us that we can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. HIs power is unlimited. If HE gives us a task HE will give us the ability to finish it. Loosing weight would definitely be His will. Since the bible teaches us that our body is the Holy temple of the Holy Spirit. The bible teaches us also that there are other things in life to live for other than food, and that we are truely worthy.
I'm on a program called First Place, and it teaches these things in a bible study as well as the nutritional side of it as well. The eating side of it is based on eating a balanced diet, and serving are based on the calorie level. If you would like to know more you can go to there web site www.firstplace.com. There you can find a group close to you.
I've lost 17lbs on this program since the third week in Jan. I haven't been as hungry either as i have been on other programs.
Hope this may help. God Bless

Hey everyone,, Willbethin,, I am looking forward to tommorrow, keep us posted, I am sure you will do just fine.

Betty Crocker, that is good advice, because I for one, take everything to God, cant do ANYTHING without him, if so I would be lost and unprosperous. I totally agree with you!

WEll everyone, goodnight, take care and keep it up willbethin!

Angry Fat Fairy Godmother Site

Hi,

Have you seen the Fat Fairy Godmother site? (http://www.fatfairygodmother.com/)

It is a very basic, interesting approach to weight loss and changing your habits. I just bought the book and am TRYING to begin this "way of life".

Here is the "cheat sheet" I made up of the most important points of the book:

· ACT “AS IF” ("as if" you are already at your goal weight)
· EAT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT (think about it)
· STOP WHEN YOU ARE SATISFIED (not FULL)
· ENJOY YOUR LIFE NOW
· YOU ARE WORTHY
· YOU ARE NOT YOUR SIZE
· I CAN IMAGINE A LIFE WITHOUT Compulsive overeating
· MOVE!! GO FOR A WALK, EXERCISE!
· DON’T DEPRIVE YOURSELF
· ARE YOU HUNGRY, OR JUST THIRSTY?
· EAT ONLY IF YOU ARE HUNGRY
· NOT SURE? DRINK SOME WATER
· STOP THINKING ABOUT FOOD
· STOP DIETING

It seems almost too simple - but it is really HARD to actually implement these things.

Just one more thing to think about. I hope this helps!!

thanks for the encouragement t-girl, i wrote on the lowfat forum too.

dsmiller, thanks for the info and let us knowhow it is working for you.

i am gonna start with a different mindset and approach to losing weight myself. i got the book get with the program with bob green. he gets you in the right mindset first then and drink water just a little at first, then he tell you to get moving just a little bit at a time, then he gets into the food issues. just is gonna take alot of patience and getting to know myself and finallly figuring out why i overeat and cant commit to losing this weight. good luck everyone.
