Firstly, apologies if there is already a thread regarding this (please just point me in the right direction and delete this if you feel necessary )
I can't workout without music. When I walk I can sometimes do it in silence but the simple lack of an uptempo beat means I don't work as hard. I also find the music a helpful distraction when I'm on the crosstrainer and PRAYING for these x amount of minutes to be over.
Does anyone have any suggestions for music to workout to? Do you workout to music or not, and if so what do you listen to?
Any ideas greatly appreciatedI'm getting so bored with my music collection
When I get bored of my own music collection, I do one of two things:
1. Turn my cable on- they have a variety of music stations on there and it helps to change the music. If I want fast music, I put on hard rock or metal, if I am warming up or cooling down, I put on soft rock or classical rock. It helps with the variety, and I find myself reminiscing many times after hearing an old song I haven't heard in ages. It helps pass the time.
2. I turn on the radio part of my CD player to a station that has music I enjoy. The blasted commercials can drive you crazy, but again, you get a variety of music instead of the same old CD day in and day out.
I use my ipod on my walks, and I have to change out the songs every so often when I get bored. I made a playlist entitled workout songs, and I just swap out songs when the ones on there get old.
Well, I listen to lots of different music. I mean...everything.
Now for my IPod Workout Playlist (favorites in red):
"Clothes Off" Gym Class Heroes
"Fergalicious" Fergie
"My Humps" Black Eyed Peas
"Suck My Kiss" Red Hot Chili Peppers

This is just the current one I'm using. I don't listen to music like this in my free time for the most part...but when I'm exercising it seems like the fun, silly, sexy stuff get's me moving more.
Definitly, I have to listen to music while I work out, has to be something with a good beat. My favourite artists to listen to are: DMX, some of Scissor Sisters, some of Eminem (especially the Eminem Show), a couple of Christina Aguilera (Fighter, Dirrty etc), Pink (U & ur hand, leave me alone etc), some Queen, and for when I really want to exercise out my frustration, Limp Bizkit. Don't know what I'd do without my music!
Ah thanks for suggestions so far it's most appreciated not that I asked just for you to tell me what to listen to... it's just a bit difficult when you run out of ideas. Googling for 'workout music' never really brings up any good responses for me either
I usually listen to rap and hip hop. Examples, Chris Brown, Ludacris, Ying Yang Twins, Kanye West. Pop like Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake. Dance: Daft Punk, Junior Senior. Any 90s dance music like Boyz II Men, 69 Boyz, ect.... ect....
I have a workout playlist of (I think) over 30 songs which I can't live without. lol
I listen to house music or electronic. because it is continuous and has a great tempo. You should go to the Dance and DJ section on Amazon and see what is new and take a listen. One example is Basement Jaxx. They have great uptempo music.
I guess we should find out what kind of music you like first, before we start making recommendations. If you're into country or rock and roll, then Rihanna's Please Don't Stop the Music is not going to do it for you.
Height: Tall enough for my feet to reach the ground
I just added a bunch of stuff to my MP3 for working out...I have a major variety:
Buck Cherry "Crazy BI***"
Eminem "Lose yourself"
Eminem "Shake'n that A**"

Blondie "call me"

I have a bunch of others but this is all I can remember off the top of my head.
