HAPPY NEW YEAR !

We went to bed around 11, just couldn't stay awake any longer. I was sound asleep before midnight came! We started today with a big breakfast at Cracker Barrel, then went to Target for some storage bins for our tree ornaments, then home to take down the trees and put all the decorations away. The house looks strange all back to normal. I have my Pork & Sauerkraut in the crock pot and made a batch of cornbread to go with it. It's my last "fling" before I restart Phase 1. I sure do have a lot of de-toxing to do! I just finished installing my new wireless mouse on my computer, and I love it. I always complained about the wire from my other mouse getting caught, and Santa must have been listening! Now it's time for some relaxing with a book for a while.

Amy: You are going to do great this year..I just know it!
Hello all you other garooovy chicks!

We did Hibachi last night, but sigh not the kind we are use to.. We need to find a place with a REAL hibachi...But dinner was okay anyway... Then we headed for DH's waterin hole, where I had 3 cocktails and felt so so tired from them that I had coffee and water the rest of the time.. We stayed till half time watching our Beloved Giants pull a win..A very exciting game... Home we came, and MANAGED to stay up til midnight! (That's b.i.g for us these days!)
The lights are down, All the decorations down and away..and the tree in the street... I vacuumed a billion pine needles and am takin a break before I put all the every day Chachka back in its place...
DH is joining me on SB..so we will have a FAT rooster to add to the roster ...A totally off plan dinner is planned for today and tomorrow.. as DH wants to start on Tuesday... So I will see you on PHASE 1 then!

We are gonna have a GREAT YEAR !! WE DESERVE THIS!

Chickies.

Congratulations Elisabeth. Great way to start the NY off.

So sorry about that dessert Ruth that is so frustrating.

2006 is going to be a better year for me. My health is going to be one of my main priorities and I am going to do whatever it takes to get into onderland by January 2007. For me that is 85 lbs. but not impossible. I just must be faithful to SBD and stay on the beach, stay on the beach, stay on the beach, okay I guess you get it. Now that my arm is working I can actually answer posts now. It was just too hard before.

Once again wishing everyone a wonderful and prosperous New Year. And here is a toast to everyone having a this year.

I went to the health food store and bought organic milk, cottage cheese, salad, coffee etc. I'm ready chicks! Let's make this the best year ever for weight loss!
I have read it and I too am disgusted by many things that go into our food, chemicals we use, etc. Unfortunately, I would go into the red buying organic everything. So my start is with my daughter. She just turned a year and I want to reduce her intake of hormones, pesticides, etc. So, I am beginning with milk. I pay 4 times as much for it but she will only drink organic whole milk for now (unless we are out and about, and don't have it with us) I figure doing a little something is better than ignoring the problem all together. I just want to give her the best possible start I can. I wish I could do more but we do what we can afford Hopefully soon I'll find more ways. Next spring we are gonna plant a huge garden so that will help!

Jennie - we did/are doing the same with DS. I nursed him as long as he would let me (he self-weaned at 6 months, as soon as he tasted real food; I had to pump and use formula the next 6 months). Once he went to milk, he got nothing but organic whole milk until just a few weeks ago (he's almost 2). Now he usually gets regular whole milk and sometimes organic. We gave him organic cereals and baby foods as much as possible, too. He gets less that is organic now, but I still buy some when I can. We've been on a tight budget for the past year, so I can't always afford to buy organic as often as I'd like.

I did a bit of research on the organics, as I worry about my toddler's intake too. As far as produce goes, the stuff you don't eat the peel on - like oranges and bananas, does not have much pesticides in it. It's things like apples and pears you have to really scrub. Luckily, my regular store is carrying more and more organic produce and I just buy what's on sale, so it's not too too expensive. Milk and meat are horrible, but we found a local organic rancher to buy beef from, and our dairy (which actually still delivers) is not certified but mostly organic.

Default Good night!

Most of you are probably already in bed, but I want to wish you a anyway. Some of you already have your put away, wow you are my heros. I'll be doing that this week. It's always sad for me to put it away because I love Christmas decorations.

Well, I spent the day enjoying day 1 of phase 1. I can't remember the last time I felt hungry. It's been a bed several weeks and my updated ticker shows it! I read through my journals of the last nearly two years of beginning the South Beach diet. It was really good for me to see what encouraged me and what tripped me up. I will drink more water and eat more veggies. I will do strength training and run 3 times a week or more. I've been close to goal a few times, but 2006 WILL be the year!

Here's a toast to all of us LOSERS!!!!
