Kris I know water is a key part on this journey. I'm happy to say I got 76ozs of water in today ... it's a start ... hope I'm not up too many times during my 5.5 hours of sleep

Good night ALL

This week I added in taking the stairs down at the end of the day instead of the elevator. It's 28 floors. It takes me 5-7 minutes, depending on my pace. Yesterday I did it twice - lunch and at the end of the day. Today I'm sore and almost didn't take the stairs but decided to walk anyway. It feels good to know I'm doing something to improve my health. I also take the stairs up and down between the floors during the day and usually average about 6 floors a day (and that's only counting the "up"). There has been a few times that I've gone over 10 floors. My fit bit only counts going down stairs as steps.

The status of my treadmill...

FedEx sent these pictures and asked if I wanted them to deliver it anyway.

I said no, send it back and bring me a new one. Kinda irritated. :-|

FeraFilia how could it get so banged up? Hope you get a new one soon.

Rennie thank you for asking about my husband. He wound up being off work and doing physio for two months. The doctor cleared him for work and he started Tuesday. He's not 100% yet but he's happy to be back at work.

Saw a drop this morning, surely from eating correctly all week but also from falling asleep at about 7pm last night and getting up at 5:30 this morning. As usual I slept deeply about 4 hours and the rest of the night was on and off, but at least it was a long night's sleep. Hope everyone will have a great day.

Yay Kris on the stairs, good job on your determination even with the soreness

Mandy, I'm wondering how they banged it up like that also. And to think you'd want it still is crazy. Didn't you refuse it in the first place? Why would they even waste your time and theirs sending the pictures, smh. Hope you get your treadmill soon

Martine glad to hear your hubby is recovering, praying for his full recovery And good job on going to bed at 7 that was a long night's sleep Nice drop on the scale sleep/rest and water do the body real good Keep up the good work

Quote from Carol Sue in January ... I still can't get myself to weigh daily, but I'm doing better than I used to. I am being obstinate...Rennie told me she would be back this month, so I'm not coming back until she does! Hear that Rennie? LOL

LOL Carol Sue, I'm back where are you?

Welcome to all the newcomers for the month!

Vixsin: TOM did that to me last month...always being a jerk, that one. Haha.

love2b150: Hopefully you find something that helps you sleep. Also, I have never tried Hot Yoga, but I'd like to if I ever came across a class! I'd be interested in hearing from someone who has actually tried it, as well.

** As far as my general food plan goes, I do IF (12:30-8:30 right now) and am capping calories at 1600 for the time being. I average between 1200-1500 a day though, depending on the day. Watching sodium, because I tend to be sensitive to it with water retention...especially since I have had high blood pressure since having a child. (I never had it before, but developed severe preeclampsia during 3rd trimester, and the high blood pressures never went away...that was 2.5 years ago.) I'm a vegetarian, so I usually have some mixture of greek yogurt, fruit, plain whole almonds, tofurky or egg sandwiches, avocado toast, or heartier dinner salads with beans most days. I will have a string cheese for a snack - or, less often, some 100-calorie homestyle popcorn. Protein bars once in a great while. When we have them, I will include my husband's meal replacement shake things in the morning. Will have oats with fruit every once in awhile for breakfast instead. My food tends to be mostly repetitive in nature in an effort to simplify and know what to expect, and I log it all on MFP if anyone wants to take a look. Drink as much water as I can, but I still need to drink more. (Averaging about 13-16 servings a day, so between 104-128oz. Trying to get over 20 servings a day, because that's closer to the amount I'd need for someone of my weight, but it's hard...lol.) I don't drink soda anymore unless we're out to dinner, which is very rare. Drink hot green tea several times a week. I feel like what I eat is decently healthy, even though I still utilize some processed "meat alternatives" like the Tofurky sandwiches and the Quorn patties in my salads. But my macros are still under, so I'm not sure if that's making much of an impact. I reverted back to how I ate the last time I was on 3FC pretty easily, and it worked great for me then. Sorry for the novel, just wanted to cover the basics! Haha. **

FeraFilia: Oh no! I hope they are giving you complimentary expedited shipping and getting a fire under their booty to get a new one back to you -- pronto!

-------------------------------------------------------

Hit more than my goal steps yesterday (over 11,000 for the first time!), drank lots of water, and ate on-plan...but, weight was up a bit to 271.4 this morning. Ughhh...scale, give me a break. Still not letting it derail me, but I am tired today and am over it...lol.

Hi all!

Rough start to the month for me. Forgetting to weigh in because I've just gotten busy with stuff before my eyes are all the way open is probably the cause of that. But I bet I'm up a bit because of water due to a couple take out meals, but they have fit in my calories and I've been exercising.... so I'm hoping I can remember in the morning, and see 260s for the first time in almost 6 years. When I hit that number I've got some hair color and I'm putting the red back in my hair. I miss it! I'm a ginger with Native American linage. The ginger skin stayed with me (freckle but don't tan), and the hair turned brown... crazy genetics. But since I've got natural red undertones I get the added bonus of my hair being able to hold fun red dyes longer than most people. Yay for that!

Oh. And I got to go shopping in my closet yesterday. Tried on a bunch of stuff that hasn't fit since before I got pregnant. A lot of it fit, or was close to fitting! Looking forward to having more clothes to wear.

Ophelia thanks for the info. I think you eat healthy. I need to eliminate the processed foods but I have such a horrible work schedule. I go to bed between 5-7 depending on what time I have to be at work and how tired I am (1:30-2:30) I get up 1.5 hours before I have to be at work. Most days I come home, nap and then get back up to spend some time with my daughter. For me grab and keep it moving is easiest. The sodium is a killer for sure. I wish I had more time to prep. Prepping for me years ago made a huge difference. I get bored quickly with my meals so I have to have things that I can see and pick up or I'll mess up. I do need to start making my smoothies again ... your gain has got to be water, it'll be gone some and a nice whoosh should show for you

Mandy hope you're not up due to take out in the a.m. Yay for closet shopping, have fun

Hello everyone! Hope you have all been well in 2017 Thank you love2b50 for PMing me about the thread!

I have still been working at losing weight but the past couple months have been hectic and I've been slacking a bit so I'm 100% back on the wagon for February. I moved into my new apartment in December, then my mother came to visit for nearly 2 weeks after Christmas, then I was on a trip in the middle of January. While mom was here and I was away, I ate out a lot and didn't bother logging, but I am thankful that I managed to maintain my weight and not gain. Hopefully some of the healthy habits are becoming easier, since I didn't have much trouble trying to pick 'good' choices at the restaurants.

At the end of January I started a college preparatory course for women, meant to help boost our self-esteem and confidence and also a bit of traditional schoolwork to prepare us for either returning to college/university or a new career. I'm enjoying it immensely and I think all of the discussions are really helping to raise my self-esteem and self-worth bit by bit, which has also inspired some new motivation in my weight loss: I feel like I deserve to be healthy and happy and to feel good about my body, not ashamed or embarrassed. I have a long way to go with both the self-esteem and the weight loss, but as long as I'm continuing to make progress I'm satisfied and happy I know it will take time.

As for the weight loss, I'm approaching the 100 lb lost mark and my goal for Feb is to make it there. I want to really focus on my weight loss and fitness so that I'm feeling really great in time for my birthday in May, which will also mark the 1 year point for when I first began trying to eat healthier. It's been baby steps all the way but I've learned so much and hopefully I'm making healthier habits along the way!

Wishing you all the best!!
