Default I'm new.

Just starting out. Have been thinking about focusing on getting some pounds off and being more fit for a while. Have been at a plateau, then too much food, etc. around bf who doesn't seem to mind high calorie food, it doesn't stay on him! Thinking of starting a blog and tracker in the next few days.

Thanks Martine . I may have to invest in one ... It seems like something that will come in handy from time to time. Good for you on your walk. I definitely plan to stay my 3 day/30 minute walking tomorrow and if I get to the gym in time I may sign up for one of those classes to help me over all. Of course I'll keep everyone posted

Elizanh Hope your plateau breaks soon My hubby eats what he wants also, he has a big pepsi/cookie gut but that is all.

I went to Food Lion and they had a closeout on the Atkins three meat pizza's. I bought the last 7. they also had a close out on the Amy's veggie burgers. I bought one box (contains 4) I love Morning Star burgers but have never tried Amy's before. Couldn't pass on $1.48 for Amy's Did someone on this thread use ground pork for something? I bought a pack remembering that a 3FCer did use it now I have to find out who so I'll know what to do with it I bought 5lbs of red seedless grapes also for a snack. I think I'm off to a good start

Elizahn plateaus have a way of screwing with our minds, we think nothing's working anymore and so we revert back to old patterns (for example too much food). It's great that you're thinking about trying something new, ie blogging or tracking, that should help you break that plateau. Much success to you.

Rennie seedless grapes are such a perfect snack food, it's too bad that they are so expensive in my area.

After many, many days of thinking about exercising, visualizing myself doing it, even going to bed with the intent of working out the next morning, I finally got in two workouts this morning (well three if you count the 3km walk with hubby and Loki). I did a 20-minute cardio walk and a 20-minute total body toning workout. And I even did those workouts AFTER grocery shopping. Usually if I don't do it first thing in the morning I never do it, so I'm glad I didn't make any excuses this time.

Hope everyone will have a great Sunday!

Awesome workouts, Martine! What type of total body toning workout do you do and is it fun? I've been looking for more exercise recommendations that I can do at home.

love2b150 Grapes sound delicious! Do you ever freeze them? My mom loves to do that and eat them while they're still frozen

Although I've tried to really cut back the salt + drink a lot more water in the past few days, I was really surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning. I know since I've only just started, that a lot of my weight loss is probably water weight but I'm still feeling really encouraged. I usually take Sundays off from working out but I might try to do an extra 20-30 mins on the exercise bike just because I'm feeling extra motivated! I've also been very strict with myself in only watching certain TV shows while I'm exercising on the bike, and I really want to see the next episode

Also I was hoping to get some advice and opinions... I have pretty bad cystic hormonal acne and have been thinking about going back on birth control to improve my skin but I'm really worried it will stall my weight loss or cause me to gain weight. Do you think I should wait on starting the pill because of this? I'm not sure what to do!

Nope pinkstarberry I have never froze them though I've heard they are a treat that way. I may give it a try. If I don't eat them one of my children will Look at you GO! Nice weigh in, keep up the good work RE: watching tv while exercising ... for me it takes my mind off the exercising and I exercise longer though I prefer music while exercising, the faster the better. Sorry no advice re: the pill.

pinkstarberry I usually do Jessica Smith workouts on Youtube. The total body toning workout was her latest. I liked it, challenging but doable. I like your idea of watching certain tv shows only when you exercise. If you want to know what happens in a series, no choice but to get on that bike. Good motivation. What are you currently watching as you're exercising?

friends!

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. It's on the way to 102 degrees today so I got my walk in very early this morning. A may be in order later today. I've been doing laundry and other indoor tasks. Plenty to keep me busy

Martine, I wonder if I'd be better at reaching my goals if I used the French version of SMART goals?! Great job on getting those workouts in! , very impressive!

Rennie, that's a good price on grapes! I don't know if it's a good thing but I can eat grapes by the fistful Your exercise plan sounds reasonable and a solid way to jumpstart your good workout habits.

elizanh to 3FC! Happy to have you in our little community. We're a really supportive group so please post as often as you'd like. I'm incredibly grateful to the friends I've met here.

Curvy I can eat them by the fistful also but I tend to tire of picking them before I eat too many I know for me they turn to sugar so that's not good but they are so good I'm trying to get my daughter to go for a walk with me. We shall see Good job on your walk this morning I did MY laundry last evening before bed. There's plenty to do in here also but I don't wanna

Good Monday morning everyone!

I got up and did 35 minutes of cardio this morning. It's so hot and humid, felt like I was working out in a sauna. Off to get ready for work now.

Good Monday Morning Everyone

I hope that everyone had a great weekend with not too much heat lol My exercise is done for the day, it's suppose to be in the 90's again, not a fan lol.

Eliznha to our thread. Isn't it amazing how most men can eat whatever they want and don't gain an ounce lol. Good luck on your lifestyle change, I know that you are going to be successful. What plan are you following?

Rennie That's awesome about the deals you found at Food Lion. We don't have those stores in Michigan. And frozen grapes are my favorite

Pinkstarberry I was also taking Sunday off from exercise. I recently picked it back up due to my eating lately. You can even try a lighter workout. They have some low impact exercise videos on youtube that are only about 15 minutes, I do those when I'm really not feeling it lol

Curvy 102 degrees. I guess I shouldn't complain too much we haven't reach those temps yet.

Martine on the workout this morning. It's steamy and humid here as well. It's suppose to cool down for a couple day I don't mind some heat but with the humidity it just makes it not enjoyable.

Have a great day everyone

Morning everyone

A weekend with my in laws; if ever I was grateful for a Monday morning, today would be the day! I think I did relatively well with eating smaller portions of food, but MIL just doesn't understand the concept of healthy cooking. I was up this morning to 213.9. I know that I didn't drink enough water this weekend though, so combined with MIL's food, I understand the gain. Slept in a bit this morning, but was still able to get in a 20 min jog/run at the gym. Did my hair very nicely this morning and then stepped out into full blown humidity and it was only 7am. My hair is a mess, and I think I shall hide in the air conditioned office today.

Rennie your post about whether we truly want you back made me laugh. Yes we were crazy enough to do a roadtrip with two toddlers, but they're relatively easy to satisfy in comparison with your teenagers! LOL. I did the Focus 25 for about 3 days, and remembered why I hate working out at home; too many distractions. Focused on the gym now. And hubby has eased up on hockey (mostly), but he's been at the gym everyday as well. I don't know what to do with him.

Martine great job on the morning workout

Thanks Trina , great job on your workout this morning ... with the kids in here I'm always looking for deals ... they eat what's quick, say what they don't like and then complain that there isn't any food, but if I cook what they don't see that is clearly there they will eat the invisible food. Gotta love 'um I'm gonna have to try the frozen grapes and let you and pinkstarberry know what I think

LOL Kukkie, you and MIL she means well Good job on the morning jog Sorry about your hair ... humidity and hair do not go together at all LOL my teenagers are fine it's Chelle right now, smh. BJ needs to get his license but I don't like the way he drives so if he actually passes the road test I don't know whose vehicle he'll drive, certainly not mine He wanted to buy a car but for some reason he thought I was paying his brothers car note ... Ah nope, he works everyday to pay for that car and his insurance. So BJ has some saving to do I hate working out at home also. I'm gonna get some exercise in here soon. I am making a promise to myself Your hubby is trying to keep up with his wife

I didn't weigh in this morning ... I checked my alarm clock last evening for sound, it read 1:15am ... did I actually turn it on??? NOOOO! I woke up 2:49am. What time do I have to be at work 3am. So I had no time to do my normal lollygagging around the house, smh.

The heat today is ridiculous, I wish we'd get some more rain over here. I just got back from a small vacation seeing family and totally blew it with carbs. I did fine with eating within my calorie limit but I knew I was way over on my carbs. It's set me back nearly three pounds within about four days, unfortunately. I feel like I'm never going to stay in the 160's at this rate, but just more motivation. I'd like to hope I'll make my monthly goal of around 170 by the time the month ends but I don't think I'll be too upset if I don't. July will be a good chance to work more towards my goal of getting into the 160s without creeping back up in weight.

Hope you all are doing well and enjoy the rest of the month.

Started my swimming routine today. Wanted to get 30 min in but I am unbelievably out of shape for swimming lol so I think I got in a good 20 min and boy can I feel it now! Didn't want to push too hard and put myself out for the rest of the week. Hubby went with me but he didn't really do laps which is fine, I just need someone with me cuz I'm so self conscious I won't go by myself. It was a really good workout though, I can feel all the muscles working. My goal is to work up to 5 times a week, may only be able to do 2-3 this week, will depend on how I feel. My experiment for frozen meals vs homemade meals didn't really give a whole lot of insight, I lost about a pound last week so I think my issue is more the physical aspect and not so much the food. I am trying to pick healthier alternatives for the frozen meals but it's hard being on a budget but I am trying to go for higher protein and less carbs and I think I did pretty well this week so between my calorie counting and my swimming I am hoping to break this plateau. I am also going to use my stability ball on my off days but may not start this week as I don't want to rush things and cause my RA to flare, it's a fine line to walk between exerting myself enough to get a good workout and pushing too hard and causing my body to freak out lol. My new job is going extremely well so that helps a lot with the stress factor too. Hope everyone has a great week!
