So I'm a newbie here. And I just jumped back a few pages to see how this thread works. I love it! What a brilliant idea to have short term goals like this. Anyway, this is my thread I think as I weigh 245. Well I did the last time I got on a scale. I don't like to weigh myself, as it depresses me. Anway, I work in the schools and we are about to start summer vacation. I'm hoping to use the time to jump start a life style change. And since you all have motivated me, I think I'll go take my dog for a walk. She'll certainly appreciate it, and I can use the exercise.
I like posting to specific threads because I don't feel quite as exposed and I feel more helped by people with situations more similar to mine. I post here, on weight watchers, on Couch to 5k, and on some of the challenges. But it is a great forum because you can pick and choose what you like ("ala carte")
I can't believe I'm here! Last time I weighed in I was around 265. I went to the doctor's office and, at first, I wouldn't let them weigh me. The MA talked me into it and I'm glad he did! 247.5. With all my work clothes on!
Bah! I jumped back up to 253 after the weekend and have only made it back down to 248. And I was so close to the 230's! I'd like to be down at least another FULL 10 lbs in the next two months, as I plan on going zip-lining and the weight limit is 250, and I don't really want to cut it that close while suspended from trees!! LOL
Karin I hope that scale is giving you more good news.
Silverfire I am right there with you. I saw 251 on the scale one night and almost passed out. Realized that I have got to change my mindset back to where it was. I have been walking about 2 miles a day this week and watching what I eat. Down to 246.6 this morning. It is also TOM for me so hopefully this is still mostly water weight.
The zip lining sounds fun! I would be a little nervous to do it.
