Those are the kind of comments that make me wish I had no filter and the ability to think fast enough on the spot to throw it right back at them. My idea of the perfect response...well, I see you haven't changed at all. You're still an insensitive moron and you can't fix stupid! I can't believe you're still SO stupid! But, I could never say it or even think of it until they were already gone. Like Meg Ryan's character in You've Got Mail.

So many thoughts on this:

* Yes, I've fixed my weight problem, but apparently they're right about not being able to "fix stupid!"
* Hello! It's ME you're talking about! I can hear you!
* I'm grateful every day that I only had to deal with being overweight because I was apparently able to successfully solve that problem. May I ask you what it's like to have to deal with being stupid, unfeeling, tactless, and inappropriate on a daily basis? (Said, if possible, in a very serious tone with a perfectly straight face.)

There is not much that surprises me anymore. I'm sorry it was at your expense, but thanks for the laugh (or is "gasp" a better word?)

How old was this person? This sounds like something one of my daughters would have said when they were 5 or 6 years old. We tend to learn tact as we get older. Clearly, this is a very immature person.

ha Rhonda, she's no kid - my age, a little older maybe. I'm a jokester, so of course I said "just glad they didn't have to take the side of my house off to get me out" She kind of gave a nervous laugh.
