Two years ago my doctor took blood and said I had a B12 deficiency enough where he put me on 1000 tablet a day. I take it along with my other vitamins but I was wondering....does anyone else take it here?
I can actually feel a difference if I miss my vitamins one day. I guess this is good right?? Means I am helping myself by taking them. He seemed to be perfectly fine with what I was doing.....
I use mostly one brand (not sure if I can mention it here)
Ultra mega womens
Vitamin C (2 1000 tabs)
B-12
Non-GMO Soy - 1
Folic acid 800
Coral Calcium
Do any of you take vitamins and what do you take? I researched them before I started them and they are ok dosage wise for me.
I occasionally take b-12 but I also use nutritional yeast sometimes which is fortified with b vitamins. I've never had a vitamin deficiency but I don't eat animal products and there is only really 2 ways to get b-12 and one is by eating unwashed fruits/vegetables and the other is supplementing.
I've never been diagnosed as being deficient, its just a precautionary step and I don't take it all the time.
I probably should be taking that and some vitamins, along with iron, but I can't swallow pills! I know it sounds ridiculous, but I have never been able to swallow a pill in my life, not even a tiny birth control pill. When I need a tylenol, I have to chew it up, swallow and take a big drink.. nasty! I guess I could always get the chewable vitamins, though.
Yeah, when I was pregnant, I did have the chewable multi vitamin, but after a few months, I couldn't stand the taste. But I think I need to suck it up and just take them anyway. I used to crush my pills on a spoon, put sugar and some juice, but that takes too long for me, so now I just chew the pill up qucikly and take a big drink of juice.
I'm slightly anemic, so I take iron, folic acid, and B-12 to counter that. I also take a multivitamin. I can tell when I forget to take mine too...which I did today...whoops! I'm more sluggish and get light-headed if I forget to take them!

I take a vitamin B complex and St. John's Wart. I need to add a few more suppliments but I am not there yet. I have a hard time remembering to take everything already! LOL!
I take a multivitamin with a huge amount of B-12. I have a problem with my mouth, that while know one really knows what causes it or how to treat it, many doctors think it is linked back to a vitamin deficency, specifically B-12 and other B vitamins. When I take the vitamins, the problem goes away, when I forget to take them, the problem comes back.
In addition to the multivitamin, I take Sam-E and calcium. The calcium I don't notice much, but the Sam-E I definately do.
When I started this journey in August I went to a doctor that specialized in non-surgical weight loss. First thing she did was run blood tests on me. It turned out that I was taking the wrong level of thyroid medication, was anemic, my B12 and other vitamins were low. She put me on iron, B12 and a general multivitamin. Taking supplements really made me feel better.
Sometimes our body craves food for energy because we don’t have the hormones, vitamins, or minerals that we need. Lack of sleep will also cause this. If we meet the nonfood needs of our body, weight loss becomes easier.
A complaint – my insurance does not cover anything connected with weight loss. The doctor’s office filed insurance using codes for treating the above problems. It was turned down because she is a weight loss doctor. If my family doctor had treated me, it would have been covered. NOT RIGHT!
