Question Dr. Phil's bars etc ...

Are Dr. Phil's bars /snacks in stores? I've never seen them anywhere?

Hi there,

When the book first came out I found them in Walmart and the local larger grocery stores. I have never bought them, but I distinctly remember seeing them. I honestly don't know if tehy still carry them. Sometimes though our stores will bring in orders of stuff for you if you ask or fill out a form. Like my mom likes a specific brand of ginger ale that few stores carry, so she asks teh grocery store to stock it and they do, when the supply runs out she will ask again and tehy get more in. So if you don't find them perhaps you can ask.

I can give you the answer to that.

Last year, A&E Biography aired an episode featuring Dr. Phil -where he said he felt his association with the diet foods and supplements was a big mistake - and dropped his affiliation/endorsement with the company. (profits were supposed to go to charity, not to Dr. Phil, anyway.) The unsold inventory was liquidated at places like The Dollar Store - where they were sold at the price of 10 bars for $1.00. So they're no longer available - but I would bet the company who made/marketed them has the same bars under another label.

I'm not a bar person but I heard they were tasty.

Yes...they were VERY good and I hated actually seeing them go because they were so good! They had more protein and fiber, and less sugar than "cheaper" made meal replacement bars like Slim-Fast.
I haven't found a bar that tastes like them though.

I found them last fall at Odd Lots. I didn't buy the bars, but I did buy the shake mixes, which were terrible. :P

I bought some of the bars when they first came out and didn't like 'em. I'm still seeing them in one of the groceries here under the Dr. Phil label, so they must be pretty old ones!
