Default Magic Breakfast Blaster

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has tried this breakfast drink yet from YOAD book - Magic Breakfast Blaster. I had one this morning and I'm sorry but they are not very good. Maybe it's something you need to get use to but I had trouble getting it down. Any suggestions for making this a bit more tasty. I bought the flaxseed oil, soy protein, and psillum husk and would like to use these in my diet. Any suggestions or alternate recipes would be appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't tried the Magic Breakfast Blaster. I will have to look that up to see what all is in it. Does it have any fruit in it? If not, maybe by adding the favorite fruit would help? As far as flaxseed.....I don't use the oil but buy flaxseed in bulk for my salads and vegetables. I also buy bread that has flax seeds.

I haven't tried it either, but just looking at the recipe, I'm thinking that maybe it just wasn't sweet enough for you? Maybe try doubling the apple juice concentrate or honey, whichever you used. Once you get it so it tastes better to you, you can gradually cut back on the sweetener and your taste will adjust.

Also, if you've never used protein powders before, that taste may take some getting used to as well - I've been using them for about 4 years now, and I actually like them, but a number of people hate them at first.

Now you've got me curious - maybe I'll try this this weekend.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I am going to try it again tomorrow.
No, I haven't had protein powders before and I did find it kind of gritty. Also it was definietly not sweet enough so I will be adding more honey. But I did notice one mistake I did make with it. I halved the recipe to make only one but I forgot to half the water so it was thin, odd and bland. Even so, the overall taste still leaves something to be desired.
No worries, I haven't given up on them yet.
