My first weigh-in was this morning. I'm down 4 pounds, despite a bad weekend and lack of exercise last week.

theresnoway - congratulations on a great loss and welcome!

chocolatecatz - no way you should give up and it's possible that there's nothing in your tracker to explain the gain. Please look at the overall picture - this means you have lost 5.5 pounds in three weeks - that's awesome. I know it's hard but please try not to get thrown by the scale - it could be that something you ate yesterday was within points but a little salty. The time of month can affect the scale too.

I had a good weekend all in all. I'm doing well with flex points, finding the variety (more than on core) really nice for a change. I did a good upper body workout yesterday - my knee is not good so no cardio for at least a few more days. I think I'm going to have to call the orthopedist soon.

I have school tonight but Tony and I will have dinner when I get home (around 8). I'm glad to see that the points value for whole wheat pasta is a little less than white pasta. We're having pasta with a great tomato and zucchino concoction that Tony made yesterday.

Have a great one!
Judy

Lisamarie - great loss, congratulations! I think your results are great - please don't be disappointed if your losses aren't as big every week. The usual is to lose a lot the first week or two and then lose between 1 and 2 pounds afterwards. Keep it up, you've made a great start!

I'm doing OK this week in flex. I had a bit of a snacky evening last night. I had a ton of interview and test results to write up before class tonight and I worked both before and after dinner to finish it. Actually, I worked until after 9:00 pm, and missed the part of the Yankee game where they scored 10 runs! I guess the snack attack was part PMS and part stress-related but I counted everything and still have enough weekly points for the week. I did a little yoga before dinner - it felt great. I just wish my knee was feeling better so I can do some cardio. It looks like a visit to the orthopedist is in my future though.

I have class tonight but because of the holiday weekend, don't have it again until next Wed so I will have plenty of time to do the write-up and readings I need to do. One great thing that happened was that the teacher in whose room I am in FINALLY came back - so work is back to normal again and not nearly as crazy and stressful.

Have a great one!

Judy - Great job, you have such a busy life I know it can be hard to stay on track. Wheat pasta is a good alternative and my kids don;t notice the difference.

Lisamarie - awesome 4 pounds keep it up.

chocolatecatz - just stay on track and you will be fine, the 1 pound could have been anything from water to that time of the month!!

theresnoway - great first week!! Stay motivated.

Hey everyone - I had a good week this week lost 2 more pounds. I have been going to the gym that just opened up almost everyday except for Monday night when I play soccer. I am just getting back on program and getting to know everyone on the 3fc forum. I hope to be able to post more regularly but I am reading all the posts and it is keeoing me motivated!!

Thanks!

Hi Gals, "swooshing" in and out. It's been wild here, in fact the last two weeks. I surprising haven't gained, but I have been rebounding each day. Been having some problems with my "IC" cystitis of the bladder the last few days and it makes not really care about much of anything, let alone staying OP. This thread always keeps me motivated though. Thanks!

Here's your "Attagirl" for the week - looks like everyone did well with weigh in!

Darlene, I get cystitis sometimes, too. It's painful. Certain things set it off, and I try to avoid them, but sometimes...... Hope you're feeling better sooner rather than later.
I waited to weight in until today. I was eating soda crackers and sucking down ginger ale the first part of the week and knew I had water retention to wait out(not to mention major PMS) I was having a migraine, but I'm still not used to them and thought it was the flu. Anyway, I weighed in at 185 today. That's 16 lbs. lost since Christmas, and 1.5 since last week. Not bad all things considered.

Soccermom – congratulations on the loss – that’s great! I wish I could be working out the way I like to (some good cardio at least a few times a week) but my knee is still bothering me. I’m going to do a yoga workout after work today but I miss the cardio.

Darlene – Sorry to hear about the problems you’ve been having. I hope it’s better soon.

Thebooklass – congratulations on your loss, both this week and in total! I know what you mean about waiting out PMS – thankfully TOM arrived and PMS is over!

I had a so-so day yesterday. I counted everything I ate but I snacked too much for my liking. I think it was the “done with classes” stress thing. I must figure out a way to channel that into something else. I should have picked up my crocheting. I’ll try to do that next time. As I said, I’m going to do a yoga workout when I get home – I really miss my cardio – I may just get on the spinning bike and see how my knee feels. Of course, if it bothers me at all, I’ll stop. I got TOM yesterday so my sneak peek was awful (after being good for the last few days) but hopefully all of that will be gone by Saturday morning.

Have a great one,
Judy

Hi all.

Judy - Thanks for the birthday wishes last week for Ana. Hard to believe she's seven already, isn't it? The birthday cake was small and I left some with my mom, so not so many leftovers to contend with. Good for you for getting to your meeting last Saturday. I'm glad the weigh-in wasn't as bad as you anticipated. I'm so sorry that your knee is bothering you. I know how miserable that is. So, the snack attacks have been getting you, huh? One of these days soon we're going to conquer those. Now, here's hoping you're not so super busy soon. I'm glad to hear that flex is working for you right now. Sometimes we just need a change of pace. I had a review with Ana's reading resource teacher yesterday. She went from reading at the beginning K level to reading at the beginning 1st grade level. I was thrilled. He strongly advises putting her in the public school next year and I'm really torn. I love where she's at now so much, but if it's not the best for her educationally.... Trouble is I just don't feel qualified to know that and I have two different groups of people telling me different things. I really also don't want to retain her and they'd put her back in 1st grade, although the good news is that they are going to have mixed age 1st and 2nd grade split classrooms, which helps the situation immensely. On the other hand, the director of special ed for the district, who was reluctant to help me in the first place and who was displeased with the number of reading resource minutes on Ana's IEP for this year, has already made it known that she would be limiting the number of minutes that would be available to Ana next year if she's not a student at the public school. That makes me feel backed into a corner, in terms of our decision, and, frankly, ticks me off. I may have a discussion with her about this before we make our decision. Our formal IEP review is next week.

LKBAngel, Theresnoway, Lisamarie, soccormom and thebooklass, congrats on your great losses! You all are a great inspiration!

Chocolatecatz - Don't let that gain bum you out. Sometimes our bodies rebel a bit. Bet you see a fabulous loss next weigh-in!

Darlene - I hope you're feeling better soon.

I logged a maintain this week. It's not as good as a loss, but at least it stopped the cycle of gaining a couple tenths of a pound each week. I've been trying to be mindful of how fast I'm eating and it has helped me to slow down which has helped me to feel fuller. I'm really going to be super mindful during the challenges I have coming up this week: lunch out today and Tuesday and a bbq on Monday. I'm going to really have to be careful about snacking as well, since I'm so on edge about making a decision about my daughter's education next year. (For those of you who are new, she was diagnosed with learning disabilities this year and has been receiving special services for reading, math, and speech and language.) I plan on getting on here over the weekend. Hope to see some of you then.
