I've only lost about 13 pounds since Christmas. I've been doing this on my own, w/o the points thing, etc.. because my kit has not arrived yet(just ordered it......drug my heels about recommitting to WW). Just using the things I learned in WW before. Anyway, I lost about ten pounds and did not notice really a big difference. I threw in exercise, though, and, wow, what a big difference! I have lost only 3 more pounds, but my clothes are swimming on me. My DH commented on how much less I have in my caboose area. I feel so much better....less bloated, etc... I have systemic lupus/mctd, and it is hard to get motivated on the exercise thing, but I am also starting to notice I am less stiff. Not totally pain free, but better than I was. Anyone else having good results with exercise? What are you doing to be more active? Any changes in appetite(I get hungry) and how are you handling that?
I have always exercised so that was never aproblem. Now, I have upped the intensity. I feel great but like you said I'm more hungry. I spread my points so that I can have an afternoon snack so I won't overeat at dinner.
I've lost 9 lbs since April 1, I am exercising about 5 times a week, I'm disappointed with the lack of loss but I know i'm losing inches, my clothes are big and everyone at work is noticing as well. last year i didn't exercise and my wl was faster. I feel better exercising, but it is hard to dedicate so much time to doing it and the motivation is definitly hard to muster up. I have to eat between 3-4 because I won't have dinner till nearly 9. I find when i eat dinner then work out I feel sick so i grab a salad on the way home. My big meal is lunch usually.
Wow, Misty, that is GOOD. I lost weight before without exercising, and even though the pounds came off rather quickly, I didn't look as good. I was actually in a larger size of clothing, though I had lost more pounds.
The plus in exercising is that it gradually raises your metabolism, partly because of the muscle built up. And lets face it, muscle looks better than fat in OR out of clothing.
The one thing I need to plan on is eating more often, so I need to space out my points and actually PLAN for snacks, meals etc... I don't plan unless I make myself.
I am curious about the excerise..... this is my first time doing weight watchers and excercising at the same time. I am very concerned about losing all the weight and having all that loose skin. Has anyone else thought about this and what kinds of excercises are you doing so that this is not a problem?
I lose weight very slowly. I do exercise though and even though I don't think I lost that much so far, I see a difference in my body. Those swimsuits show every little thing so I know exactly what is getting smaller, etc. Problem is I have a lot of areas to lose in. Seems to come off the rear first. Guess I had a real bubble butt.
I have to get the activity pts for core or I would never be able to do it. When I was on the flex plan I hardly ever used the activity points.
I use some of the activity points during the week but not everyday. I have a fear of the excess skin too so i do crunches, all different kinds. I liked the exercise ball at the Y so I bought one tonight, they aren't expensive and i mainly want them for the crunches. I do the fitlinxx at the Y with weights for the crunches but I enjoy most is laying on the floor, hands above my head holding onto the BF ankles who is standing directly above me in loose shorts ( what motivation !) and he shoves my feet down and I have to bring them back up to his waist. I hate exercising but the bottom line is, I just feel better after I do. I'm just trying to figure in how to eat better in the evenings. I don't like eating so late at night, but i have a 7 and 8 year old so I can't keep them out too late too. I just want to look good, soo tired of this weight. Hope i can continue with losing the weight.
Misty - are you on core? I would die without my activity points. I try to use 5 flex pts a day plus the activity pts. You must be gaining muscle in addition to losing inches. I think it will take me a 12-15 pound loss to move down a size comfortably. I am guessing I lost 4-5 so far, but I can see the difference, would love to see the clothing size go down though.
Pnuts- no on the flex points, i tried the core for a few days and didn't like it at all. I like the variety that the flex points gives. I don't try to use flex points, I really try to hit my alloted points and then if i work out that night, i dig into a few of the exercise points. I believe I'm gaining the muscle, i'm just so large it's hard to see it but I can see my strength building, I was struggling before and i have to keep increasing to break a sweat so i know i'm doing better.
