GOODMORNING EVERYONE....sure do miss posting and speaking to all of you...I came in to read but didn't sit to write. DH was home last week so for some reason I find I don't stay focused on what's really going on. This week is winter recess and my daughter is home...so next week my head should be straight lol.
All is well here and I figure no news is good news on the homefront and I'm thankful for that. My weight seems to be the same. Had to laugh last time we did a challenge same thing happened, I didn't lose for two weeks, then lost a little, but I'm hanging in there, it's time for this weight to go...too many years walking around with it. So still trying to break that 25lb barrier that I lost...but hanging tough...I know I must keep in mind I lose slow as I'm not as active, I think I keep saying that to justify it lol...oh no, now dog wants to go out lol...no wonder I can't think straight all these interruptions lol and then those senior moments lol...ok back..now why am I here lol. Well keep up the good work girls. Sil hope that you're feeling nearly as good as new. Just don't do too much..do a little at a time. We sometimes feel terrific and think we can do it all again...NOT!!! Oh before I forget made a recipe that was just delicious from Simply The Best. It was a Turkey Eggplant Casserole so if any of you have the book try it...if any of you would like just ask...will try and post it shortly. Was nice side dish, for lunch or like me I made and froze it so I can take a piece out when I feel like having it...it was just 3 pts for a nice portion. Ok gang have to run...glad you all are posting I feel I'm in touch. Take care of yourselves. Carla :) |
Hi everyone!!!
Thanks for all of your support http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//love.gif. It really means a lot to me to have a place that I can come and be open about myself. This is something I actually talked about in my first session .... the fact that you wear so many masks when you interact with people on a daily basis (even your significant others). When I take off that mask, I'm worried about what people will think of me - that I'm not as strong as I appear to be. Do you know what I mean? The first session was very emotional but I made it through it! Hopefully it won't always be so hard but I'm already learning more about myself. Sil, Lisa, and Jeri - Thanks for all of the kind words and hugs... I really needed those hugs!!! :) Bev - Welcome to the group! I think that you'll find that this is a great place! Sashes - I am going to join the 10# group for the discussion. I think it will be good .. I read the first chapter and did the exercises in the book. I found it a bit hard to identify the things that I've been denying .. hence the word denial. But it's coming along. I'd like to hear what others have to say about the process so I'm definitely in. Jeri- I also had a weekend night out with a friend and had way to many martinis. I gained 2 lbs but I think I'm mostly retaining water because I stepped on the scale and was down a pound today. So try not to worry about the weekend. I think waiting a few days will help let it pass through your system. Don't you love the days that you make good food choices? I wish they were all of the time ... lol. I was taking my commuter train home yesterday and the snack cart came out. This is a peak time for me because I've had a very long day at work (8.5 hours straight without a lunch) and those pringles are calling my name. I asked the train rep if he had something healthy to eat and he basically laughed at me. He had never had that request before. I asked him if he had fruit - and he did! A fruit salad cup - so I opted for that at 96 cal and less than a gram of fat. I felt so proud of myself all night. I resisted the temptation. Yeah!!! But today is a new day and hopefully it will be just as good. I will keep checking in to see how everyone is doing. It sounds like you're all doing well! I've decided to opt out of the St. Patrick's day challenge since I'm not sure how my emotional purging (so to speak) will affect my weight. I'll still be accountable to you gusy though and I'll definitely be in for Easter. Take Care, :o JB [This message has been edited by jelly_beans (edited 02-20-2001).] |
Hi Everyone!
Just checking in to say I'm still at it. I drank 12 glasses of water today, got on the stationary bike for 50 minutes, took a half an hour walk and ate 21 points. The scale, however, isn't budging. Hopefully, something good will happen by Friday, my weigh-in day for the Challenge. Sil, good luck at the doctor's. Hope you hear good news. Talk to you soon. (Hugs), Dena |
Dena, Rode my stationary bike for 40 min today and am still working on the water. My dr appt was for 3:30 today but he had an emergency and there were people in the office that were waiting for a 1:30 appt. And I left my water in my car :(
I've had 18.5 points and will have a 2 pt snack before the day is over. (but I won't have it until I drink 2 more glasses of water). Thanks for the motivation, gal :D ~~~Sil |
Hi guys -
Dena and Sil - way to go on the water an exercise. You guys certainly set the example for me to follow. JB - you were smart to ask for the fruit cup. I am surprised the man had it though. Usually that stuff is too expensive for vendors to keep around. Carla - Please post that recipe. I would love to try it. I'm always on the look out for new recipes. Speaking of which, I am trying a new recipe tomorrow night called taco casserole. It looks tasty and it very easy. If it taste good I will post it soon. Gotta go - have guest here and am trying to chat at my brother in law while typing this. No wonder I always feel stress. LOL Pat |
Greetings Gang....
Posted that Turkey-Eggplant Casserole....it's so delicious...hope you all enjoy! Look for it under Poultry. This recipe appeared in the WW Simply The Best Cookbook...which I highly recommend, fabulous recipes, have tried several. Purchased the book from Amazon.com for about $14, was definitely worth it. I enjoy casseroles, if anyone has any to share would love to hear about them...thanks. Carla |
Happy Wednesday Morning all :)
Carla~~~I'm glad you are still with us. I miss you when you're gone :( The turkey-eggplant casserole sound great. I love eggplant~~think I'll make this tomorrow. JB~~~ Therapy IS tough (been there) but well worth it if you find out more about yourself and how you deal with your life. Good for you. {{{{{{HUG}}}}} I'll miss ya on the challenge but glad that you're still here with us. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//love.gif Don't have much time right now~~gotta get ready for school. I'll check back in this afternoon. Everybody have a great OP day and drink that water ;) ~~~Sil [This message has been edited by 2BFIT1 (edited 02-21-2001).] |
Hi ladies, yeah we're back from FL, been back a week now, but I still haven't caught up with all the mail, etc. I't nice to go away, glad to be back home, but oh the work catching up again!!! LOL
I've read some posts, but just haven't had the time to post. Everyone sounds like they are doing so well, I am NOT.....I've been on my t/mill the last 2 days, but am still stuffing my face, and I have to learn that the two don't go together. Did pretty well in FL, but then I was limited somewhat to what I wanted to purchase and fix. Finally got my water jug out too, and have been drinking like a fish! Thanks for remembering me, this is a very supportive group, and it's good to be back. TTFN ------------------ Keep on keeping on! Ellie |
Welcome back Ellie, sounds like you are getting into the groove again.
We had a great weekend, the weather was fine if windy, so very little time spent on the beach as the 2 year old was getting sand blown into her face. I am now home with a wicked sore throat and stuffed head, which I blame for driving me into the pizza for dinner. DH is only too happy to pamper me while I am sick, no help there. Also the kitchen is bare and so I will really have to concentrate on good choices, please send positive vibes if there are any extra out there. Carla, know what you mean about losing. I follow OP going along great, water, points, everything, and nothing moves on the scale, then it drops. Same happens with a gain, so I know to get right back on program and work especially hard. The choices are getting somewhat easier, did not have to have a huge bag of snacks in the car this weekend while touring around, used to be had to have two backs and this time only a small bag of chips which I still have, after 5 days, that is great succss. Working on the new technology of the ditigal cable on the TV and recording shows for watching while on the ski machine. I am doing a solid 40 minutes and hope to ease up to an hour by the end of March. I may have to get up at 4:30 though to do this as I have to get the three of us out of the house by 7:20. Think water and portion control, I need help today. Liza |
Hi All!
I'm still here...haven't been posting but have been lurking. I do have a question, tho...should I post more here or on the "weigh in" thread? I'm sorta lost...not unusual for me! Today's weigh-in day & I'll post my results later. I've had a terrific week! Stayed within points since Friday! Considering last week was my first week & I had to make some serious adjustments, I'm pretty pleased with my progress so far. So where's everybody from? ------------------ -Liz 125/122.5/105 "Half of getting what you want is knowing what you have to give up to get it." -Bill Phillips |
Hi everybody!
Ellie~~~Good to see that you are back home and getting back on track. Did you bring the sun back with you? Liza~~~40 min of exercise, I'm proud of you. Also, a bag of chips (FF or WOW) wouldn't last 3 days with me~LOL. Good for you. Liz~~~ Where you post depends on you. I think that the weigh-in thread is another group of gals and we won't know what you are posting. You are more than welcome to post messages here with us. And then there is the St. Pat's Challenge that is open to anybody. If you want, you can post on all 3. The point is, you are welcome anywhere ;) I see that you are from Cleveland. I live in Auburn,Georgia (45 mi.south of Atlanta) I stayed OP today but I did not get to exercise and I'm still working on the water. Tomorrow I will exercise right after I have my morning coffee and check the boards. See ya then~~~Sil ------------------ "NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS" [email protected] [This message has been edited by 2BFIT1 (edited 02-21-2001).] |
I thought I would tell you guys - I posted the Tortilla casserole recipe under the entree-beef board. I made it tonight for my houseguest and they loved it.....so I had to share with you guys.
Pat |
Thanks for the welcome!
I'm into my second week & doing great (knock on wood)! Is anyone here using E-tools? I don't have access to it in Ohio, but I understand they're working on it as a priority for the at-home bunch. Weigh-in yesterday showed no loss, but no gain either, which I'm okay with, since I struggled quite a bit my first week. It feels SO GOOD to be OP - such a sense of accomplishment. I'd love to join the challenge for St. Paddy's! Since I only have 3 weeks left until then, let's say 5# - that would take me to 120#. My original goal was 113 by the end of March (my 10% goal) but that may be unreasonable, given my current size. I hear these last few come off VERY slowly. Glad to meet all of you! ------------------ -Liz 125/122.5/105 "Half of getting what you want is knowing what you have to give up to get it." -Bill Phillips |
Hi everyone!
Liz - Congratulations on maintaining! That is part of the struggle - it's not always weight loss but maintenance. Give yourself a big pat on the back! :) Pat - Thanks for the tortilla recipe - I printed it out last night and will probably try it this weekend. It sounds good - I'm wondering if I can substitute some kind of bean mixture for the beef or veggies. Any ideas? We eat beef but not so much lately. I think DH is turning vegetarian. Sil - Hope you're feeling better! I struggle with the water too - just not sure how to get in all of those glasses a day! Thanks for your endless support! :o Ellie - Hi! I don't think we've chatted before - I recently joined this group in January. It's nice to see more names and have more support! Liza - I hear your plea for positive vibes and I'm sending them your way. It's always hard to make good choices. I believe that you can do it! Hang in there! Ok. Just checking in to see how everyone is doing and you're doing great! I am on holidays this week and moping around a bit. I have made it to the gym twice this week but I'm experiencing a slight foot problem. I don't think it's from my gym shoes because they're a pretty good brand. Doctor isn't sure either. So, I probably won't make it again today. Did I mention that DH gave me a day at a spa for Valentine's day. Tomorrow is the scheduled day - 1 hour aromatherapy massage, manicure, and waxing. I can hardly wait for the pampering!!! I have only been to the spa twice: for my sister's wedding and my wedding. I'm so excited! Final message: Stay OP - drink lots of water and love yourself because you're a beautiful woman! Take care, JB |
JB...just a suggestion for getting that water down...had trouble at first, wasn't use to drinking that much myself...but found if I schedule it a little it was helpful...
have one between breakfast and lunch, helps to keep you full...then have one or two scheduled between lunch and dinner, again, it keeps you full and less likely to want to pick on stuff, perhaps have it with your snack. Drink Crystal Light for dinner, that helps take care of another glass, and one with evening snack. I found doing that for a week or two really helped to make sure I got at least 4 glasses in. Then if you look out and see me float by, you know I went and had a fifth glass...lol...I don't think I ever used my potty so much in my life..lol. But it really helped to get it down and stay focused on not forgetting to do it. Hope that helps. Gang, just made the Eggplant Parmesian from WW the recipe my friend gave to me...and the aroma is driving me crazy wow...will post for those who might be interested as you can't retrieve it from their site unless you're a member. So look for it under vegetarian...think it's a winner. Carla :) [This message has been edited by CGBuzz (edited 02-22-2001).] |
