Good morning all - I'm happy to report a 0.4 loss. Only 4.2 pounds left until I get to my 10%. The weekend was OK - very, very rainy - of course, the sun came out this morning and it's supposed to be sunny and hot all week - I'm *not* looking forward to the subways in 90 degree heat but I have 33 more workdays left and I keep reminding myself of that. Foodwise I could have been better thids weekend and I could have been worse but I did exercise both days. I am definitely in the middle of PMS which is not fun - I have to get some exercise in at lunch.

Have a great one!

Hi all,
I'm new here but thought this was a forum I would like to join. Today is my day. I stepped on the scale this morning. I weighed 175. I've been wanting to lose weight since I stepped on the scale and weighed 165. So I decided today was the day I join 3 fat chicks. I am always lurking but never taking the plunge. I feel this will give me the commitment I need. So this week I want to lose 2 lbs. Since this is my first week OP I know I can do that. My commitment is for 1 year. One year from today I want to step on the scale and have it say 145 lbs. I previously went to WW so that is what I am going to do again. Right now I have to get ready for work. At lunch I will go for a walk; something I have not done for a while!

Hi all.

Judy - Congrats on your loss! 33 more workdays - yay! They'll go by quickly. Sorry to hear you had a PMSy weekend. I joined you on that. It's hot and humid here too. I'm so glad I have no subways to ride. I can't wait to get up to the northwoods where it will hopefully be a bit cooler. At least it's cooling off at night.

Sue - Welcome and congratulations on making the start to a healthier life. Stick with us and we'll help you on the journey.

As I mentioned, I was PMSy this weekend. It casued a bit of a snack attack, especially on Friday, but all in all I did ok this weekend. I'm going to have to guzzle down the water because I want to maintain the good sneek peaks I've been seeing. Luckily my period started today, so by Wednesday, I should be ok.

Have a great day.

Hi all,

Judy - congratulations on your loss! How many weeks in a row is that? I had a rainy weekend too...however, I was stuck in front of the computer working on a paper, so it was good incentive not to start gardening or something much more fun! Your last 32 days will go by quickly. How are things with the evil boss??

Sue - welcome! It's awful how the pounds creep on when you're not paying attention isnn't it?! Good for you for starting again...and good for you for getting in a walk at noon.

Carla - luckily we don't get the humidity here when we get heat. It makes it a lot more tolerable. Tell me again when it is you go away? Is Ana excited about going on vacation? Keeping fingers crossed for you that the good sneak peeks hold out till Wednesday.

Nothing much to report...the weekend was uneventful. I have taken tomorrow off work to hopefully finish my final paper for the course I'm working on. Also made an appointment for a haircut and some highlights. I've been drinking lots of water today, was a bit lax with it y'day. I found some great tortillas at Costco for 1 point with 5 grams of fiber. Don't know that you'd be able to get them as they're locally made. Anyway, I made veggie wraps with cream cheese yesterday for lunch for 5 points. They were to die for!

till tomorrow...

Hi all.

Karen - Those wraps sound yummy. I've been able to find decent low-point tortillas at Whole Foods. I'll have to remember to stock up on the next time I do a trip to Whole Foods. I keep forgetting how good a wrap can be and I tend to get stuck in a lunch-time rut. We leave for vacation Saturday and will be returning on 7/12. I'm looking forward to getting away. Even though I don't have the stresses of working outside the home, it's nice to be able to relax without all the things around the house that I should be doing staring me in the face.

I had a major sweet attack yesterday, which I'll chalk up to the last of PMS and the start of TOM. I feel more on an even keel today. Of course, killer cramps help dampen the appetite. Things are pretty much under control as far as vacation prep. One trip to Trader Joes to stock up on some stuff, and then I think I'm done shopping for the trip. Now I just have to finish laundry. Of course, laundry is never really done, is it?

Have a great day.

Good Morning...

Carla - yup, wraps are great. I did two tortillas, some light cream cheese, cucumbers, tomato, red onion, lettuce, & alfalfa sprouts for 5 points and was stuffed. I know exactly what you mean about the lunch rut...last week I took an Amy's organic burrito for work every day...by Friday I wanted to throw it out! Hope you're feeling okay with the cramps...bleh!

Well, I have no further excuses to avoid writing my paper, so I will log out and hit the books. I'll check back later when I get back into paper writing avoidance mode.

Looking forward to a decent weigh in tonight...

Hi Sue and welcome! Good for you for getting back to the program.

Carla - Sorry to hear you were PMS'y this weekend - it does make it tough to stay OP, doesn't it? I'm glad to hear that after the snack attack on Friday you re-grouped! Glad to hear that your TOM is cooperating with your weigh in day - after last cycle, I don't know what to expect this month! Your vacation sounds heavenly - I can't remember the last time I took more than 1 week off at a time! Sorry to hear about the sweet attack - I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a good weigh in! Sorry to hear about the cramps - I hope you are feeling better today.

Karen - Yowza, girlfriend, that weight is dropping off you!! Way to go on that super result. How many weeks in a row is it and how much have you lost so far? Do you remember the name of the wraps you got at Costco? Darn - we were just there this weekend - but we picked up some of their yummy lp spinach ravioli. Yup, aren't those Just 2 points bars yummy? Not all of them have enough calcium to count as a milk (just the ones marked as "nutritional bars") but I haven't found one I didn't like so far. They are pretty filling, especially if you have them with some water and they syre are a whole lot point-friendlier than a candy bar. I've even grabbed one as a "meal on the go" when I've needed to. So how is the paper coming? I've lost weight 3 weeks in a row so far - and I'm going for the fourth one. I may not get to my 10% by vacation but I sure want to come close!

I had a bit of a rough night last night - sweet and salty cravings but the good news is that I managed to halt it 1/2 point into a deficit. I'm taking the afternoon off (1/2 sick day) 'cause Anthony and Krista are coming over to the pool. I don't think I'll get any formal exercise in per se so I'll just have to watch my points tonight to make up for that 1/2 point. I think we're having pizza tonight - I've planned for 1 1/2 slices. We got lots of veggies in the house though so I think I'll cut some up when I get home to have some ready-made snacks.

Have a great one!

Hi all.

Karen - Congrats on another great loss! Kudos to you for doing so well. Those wraps do sound yummy. Well, except for the sprouts. I'm not a big sprout fan. I love those Amy burritos, but a steady diet of them would make me want to throw them in garbage too.

Judy - Good for you for stopping your snack attack only 1/2 point into a deficit. Good work! I just bought some more of the spinach ravioli at Costco as well. As for taking off two weeks in a row, it's been awhile for me, especially going away for two weeks in a row. I think it's been since the late 80s that we did that. But my sister and I agreed that with just a week, by the time you unpack it feels like you have to pack up again.

No cramps today, thank goodness, but I've been quite the camel. I'm drinking the water, I'm adding the lemon juice, but my body is just hoarding it. So I'm going to make Friday my weigh-in day this week. I'm determined to lose weight while I'm on vacation. I'll accept a maintain if I must, but I definitely am not going to gain any weight.

Have a great day.

Carla

Good morning ladies,

I can't believe that it is Thursday already. Last week I realized Friday night that I hadn't been in touch with any of you and was determined to do better this week. I Surprised myself when I realized it was Thursday already. Without anyone in school (hubbie isn't doing summer school this year) I have compeletely lost track of my days.

Looking back it seems like everyone is doing well.

Judy, 3 weeks in a row, way to go.

Karen, Are you already over the 10 pound mark? You are a poster child for WW

Carla, It sounds like you keep making good choices, good for you.

Sue, Welcome I like your commitment. We all know that it took awhile to put the weight on and it won't come off over night. I am a stay at home mom of 2 (3 1/2 and 5 1/2). I am trying to do this at home but am thinking about trying to find some money in the budget to hit the meetings again. And finally the numers 194/185/140.

Things have been busy around here. We have finally started to build the forms for the foundation of the garage. My hubbie is happy that he can finally stop digging those trenches. The kids and I try to stay away most of the day. I am trying to work a hike into our schedule most days. That one is tough, my oldest wants to hike a mountain and my youngest would really perfer it if I carried him. Eatting wise I haven't been to good. Just this morning I got into the doughnuts for the construction guys. So I better go hit that treadmill ( yes I did get back on it the other day).

Take care, Anne

Hi Everybody,

Anne, glad you could find time to check in! Your life sounds very busy these days. That's great that you're getting out and about with the kids everyday. And good for you for climbing on the treadmill!!

Carla, hope you'll stop doing the camel-woman thing soon. Mike tells me that strawberries are a natural diuretic. Maybe you need a big bowlful of them. Unfortunately, they always taste better with tons of sugar and whipped cream or icecream!

Judy, I don't know if you'll be able to get the wraps...they're made in Delta, B.C. But you can look; they're Olafson's Healthy Way...made with sprouted grain and soooo good. I'm at minus 12.4 lbs in three weeks. I know that soon the weight loss rate will slow down a lot, but I'm enjoying it for now. How did you make out with the pizza??

Mike's cousin and her husband are staying with us for a couple of weeks. They tend to like to break out the wine and beer after dinner, but so far I've stuck to water, crystal light, or diet Coke with no problem. They've offered to make dinner tonight, so I'm going light for the day in case they're not very point friendly!

Have a great day...

Carla - I hope your weigh in today is good news. I totally agree that when you go away for just one week it seems like you just turn around and you're packing up again. I can tell you will have a good vacation food-wise - I'm sure your sister being on WW will help too.

Anne - it's good to hear from you! Way to go on taking hikes. It must be a real relief to your husband to be able to stop digging ditches. I'm sure it's going to be great when the garage is done. Sorry to hear about the doughnuts - my suggestion is to count 'em (journal them) because that helps me stop sometimes (I just did that for my binge-fest last night!)

Karen - thanks for the wrap name - I'll look for them next time we're at Costco - maybe I'll be lucky and find them. 12.4 pounds in three weeks is awesome!!!!! Way to go for sticking with the non-alcoholic beverages - I admire your willpower! What kind of Crystal Light do you like?

Well the PMS monster has had me by the throat for the last 2 days. I did OK with pizza on Wednesday but Wednesday night was not pretty - lots of salty cravings and I just grazed. I had great plans to make up for most of my deficit yesterday - I did a good strength workout in the morning (we're in Day 4 of a heat wave). Tony and I decided to have a sandwich for dinner - cool & light. So far so good - then the PMS monster got me again - we're talking ugly. I know it's partially PMS but I think part of it is work - I know, I know, 29 days left but I'm still working (and pretty hard too) and it's still a bit of a stressful situation. Anyway, enough of that. I gave myself a good talking to this morning about not wanting to blow the good progress I've made in the last few weeks and I am firmly back on track. We're going up to my cousin's tomorrow in CT - we're going to find some more plants for our garden (she's studied landscape design and has helped us plan some things around the house). I'm not too concerned about being OP though because she is on WW. I may opt for a 1/2 hour exercise tomorrow morning instead of going to my meeting - I wouldn't be able to do anything but weigh in 'cause we want to get on the road early.

Have a great weekend and Carla, have a wonderful 2 weeks - I'll miss you!

Hi All...

Judy, sorry to hear that you've had a rough time the last couple of days, but way to go on hauling yourself back on the wagon. As for the crystal light, I like the ice tea, the lemonade, and the lime stuff. I find a lot of the flavours way to sickly sweet.

We're going to a friend's 50th surprise party tonight. I'm going to take a veggie tray so I can be sure of having at least something I can chow down on freely!

Carla, I hope you have a wonderful, restful and rejuvenating vacation. I shall miss you too.

Have a wonderful weekend...
