Sabrina - congratulations on the new job! More money, better
benefits, shorter commute, and a better company sounds like a winner! Sorry to hear about your slip but wWhat's important is that you get back OP - and it sounds like you are right there.
I'm happy to report that I had a 1.4 # loss - my best in a long time! That means just 1.6 to go for my first 10 pounds. It will be tough to get there this week especially because we are going to Mohegan Sun Wednesday and coming home on Friday but I'm going to do my best. If I make it this week great, if not I will next week. My plan is to bank points from now until Wednesdy, work out when I am there, have fish one of the dinners out and try to keep the drinks to a low roar!
I pleased with myself that I got up a little earlier than usual and did a step workout (not too tough to get up "earlier" because today is a telecommute day) because it's going to be a couple of crazy days at work before my mini-vacation begins.
It feels good to be back in the swing of things. The bad news is, I've gained 4 pounds from my lowest weight! Argh! I never did feel like I was pigging out but just making poor choices of what I did eat. And, I know from experience that I really have to be strict with myself to lose any weight at all - my body is super resistant to letting go of this excess. Argh! But, back on the wagon now and I've got my POINTS finder fired up once again.
Judy - congrats on the loss and getting so close to 155! Wow!
Our stats are so similar. Just curious, how tall are you and what sizes are you wearing now that you're 155?
I'd better get back to work. It's busy here, trying to get everything wrapped up, although I am NOT STRESSING! I'm
just happy as **** to be getting outta here.
Sabrina - sorry to hear about the gain but glad to hear that your points finder is fired up again! I find that I need to be fairly strict with myself too or I don't lose wait. Maybe that's why it's taken me so long to lose the first 10 ;-) I'm 5'3" and mostly I'm in a size 12 It really depends on the manufacturer (some 12's are tighter than others) and whether it's pants or shirts. For example, today I'm wearing size 12 pants but my shirt is size 14 and will probably stay that way even when the next 10 come off.
I had an OK day yesterday. It was a testament to the program's flexibility I guess. Tony and I ended up going to a local watering hole (long story behind that) and I ended up having a couple of beers. We decided to share some Buffalo chicken wings and after looking at the points, I decided that they (and the beers) needed to be my dinner. Funny, although you don't get much (3 are 9 points) they (with the beers) filled me up. I guess a lot of fat goes a long way! I ended up eating to my max so I have to be sure to eat less than my max today so I have some points in the bank for our get-away.
I doubt I'll be able to get here again until we get home on Friday afternoon so I hope everyone out there is well and has a good week.
Judy - Congrats on a great loss! That's terrific! Enjoy your mini-vacation. I can't believe it's the last week of March. Just a few more weeks and you'll be out here in Chicago-land. I can't wait!
Sabrina - Congrats on your new job! Sounds like a change for the better all the way around. Sorry to hear about the gain, but I bet the better work situation helps you keep on track.
I've had horrible sneak peeks and I deserve them. I really have fallen down on both the eating and the exercise fronts. I don't know what's gotten into me, but I can't dredge up the least amount of motivation. I guess I'll just have to fake it. Yesterday I had lunch with my former boss and a former co-worker (who is also a good friend). We ate at the Cheesecake Factory - aka Satan's House of High Calorie ****. The portions there are ridiculous. Needless to say, I brought a good portion of my lunch home. After lunch we did walk the mall, upper and lower floors. It's a large mall, but we went slowly, so I'm not counting it as a workout. I'm going to have to report the third week of the SELF challenge, since I didn't meet my goals last week, but I'm not going to give up.
Sorry I've been MIA this week, have had a terrible head cold and spent 1.5 hrs at the dentist Monday and 2.5 hrs yesterday having the luxury of a root canal. I've spent a lot of the last 4 days in bed.
I will read posts and catch up after work. Reporting a 1 lb loss this week.
Karen - You poor thing, I hope you're feeling better soon. Congrats, though, on your loss. I'm sure that lifted your spirits.
I, on the other hand, am reporting a 1.6 pound gain. It's no surprise - I was an eating machine the last few days. But, I'm back under control. Today I just couldn't bring myself to go downstairs and ride the bike, nor did I want to do an exercise video. So, since it's such a beautiful day here - sunny and 60 - I decided to go for a walk at a nearby forest preserve. I planned on a 30 minute walk, but I incorrectly remembered how the path looped, so I ended up taking a 60 minute walk instead. So I'm feeling very virtuous, and very invigorated. After my walk I went to Whole Foods and since I'm always able to find good-for-you and point-friendly food there, I felt even more pumped up after my shopping trip. Now I have to remember to stick to the basics: write what I bite and drink my water. I'll probably get in a strength and flexibility workout tonight as well.
Carla - I'm feeling much better, thank you. I had to get up in the night for some advil & tylenol for my mouth, but otherwise I'm feeling pretty good again. Sorry about your gain, getting back to basics will take care of that asap. Good for you for getting out for a good long walk. Hopefully your knees won't rebel today.
Sabrina - congratulations on your new job! Sorry to hear about your gain, but now that you're back on the bandwagon, you'll do fine.
Judy - congratulations on your big loss this week! I can't remember the last time you had such a great number to report!
I had a pretty good day yesterday. Had several meetings to attend, so was a bit stingey with water intake. It's kind of embarrassing to get up two or three times and leave a meeting coz you have to pee! Same again today. I have a lunch meeting where lunch is provided, so no idea what will be served.
Karen - I hope that your lunch meeting isn't too problematic for you, food-wise. Ah yes - nothing worse than squirming your way through a meeting because you don't want to leave to pee too many times.
I did ok through the day yesterday, then it all kind of fell apart at night. I'm doing better again today and hoping to hold on through the spaghetti and meatballs I'm making at Ana's request. Actually, as long as I measure portions, I'll be ok. The marinara sauce I make is fat free, so I can pour it on. And I'll use lean ground sirloin for the meatballs, so all should be good. I got a strength and flexibility workout in today. I really had to force myself to do it, but I got it done. I so look forward to the day when getting myself to exercise isn't such a struggle.
The batch I made came out to a dozen nice-sized muffins, so
they are only 1.5 points each. Warmed up for 10 seconds in
the micro with just a hint of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter,
they taste like an indulgent treat.
