Default new here - hoping to get back

hello everyone!

my name is barbara, and i am trying desperately to get back on the ww wagon. a few years ago now i went from about 210 to 119 through ww and exercise. i'm 5'3, and i know 119 may not seem small for someone that height, but everyone said i was too thin and accused me of not eating. i leveled out around 125/130 and that was decent, but i never really felt small enough.

i moved out of state for graduate school, i didn't have the time to exercise like i used to and my eating wasn't the greatest.. and now i'm just under 160, wearing a size 8 or 10 and just not happy. i don't know how i let myself go this far, and i get so frustrated with myself. i know i can do it, i've done it before, but i just can't seem to get on track again.

i'm finished with grad school, i've got a job, moved into a new apartment, and things in life are pretty decent, other than how i see myself :/

i really need help with getting motivated again, and sticking with it!

i look forward to getting to know you here.

Hi Kitten...I know exactly how you feel...been there, done that! I lost 40 pounds (doing WW on my own) and got down to 130 (I'm 5'3" too) and that was a good weight for me...at that weight I wore an easy Peitie 6 and really loved the way I felt. However, life changes and so did I, the weight started creeping back on and I was distracted...anyway,,,one thing leads to another and they are only excuses.

I am now living in Germany and have no WW support (again) and am starting the battle all over again. I am trying to get back in the swing of exercising, it is hard, but I am staying focused. I have also set my goals and suspense dates so I can stay focused on loosing the weight. I have a couple of big events coming up next year and really want to feel good about myself...really want to be my ol' self.

Remember, loosing weight is not about being a certain size...it's about being fit and healthy. You don't have to be "small"...actually 119 seems a little too "small" (depending on your frame)...I know for me it would be to light, 130-135 was a great weight. I felt good, had a lot of energy and self confidence...so don't be ruled by what others think...set your weight at a point where you feel good.

I check back in and see how you are doing. Just hang in there...you an do it...you did it before, get that butt in gear and let's do it together!

Hi Barbara and welcome,

I think we all can relate to the 'creeping' up syndrome. You had it, reecce has had it I have had it. Getting started back on the ole ww and exercise wagen is really hard.

But setting goals is great, you can stick with them and if you have to move them a bit so be it. As for the number issue with the scale, you really have to go where you are comfortable and are healthy no matter what others think.

keep posting and let us know what is happening with you
