Well just wanted to start a new thread for the week. I survived the trick or treaters but at wi this morning I had not lost any weight. It was so disappointing. I had weighed the day before and had shown a nice loss but on the 'official day' I was at the same as a week ago

I had really thought I had gotten past these small plateaus by doing the wendie plan, but I am still going to continue to stay op and see what the next few weeks bring.

I know most of you said you are just going to let thanksgiving be a almost like free day for you but do any of you have any favorite tried and true family pleasing recipes?

Nancy - Don't give up! I hit my first platue on the plan a feww weeks ago, and I thought it would last forever - I ket gaining and losing the same 2 lbs. I lowered my points (just 1-2 pts less per day) and had a massive exercise day and that did the trick for me.

I also think that sometimes our bodies have to "catch up" to the weight we've lost - at least that's what I told myself when I hit that rough patch.

I am off to plan my menu for the day - this time change has really thrown me for a loop! I still need to exercise and get the kiddos ready for school!

Hope everyone has a great OP day!

Thanks texs! I needed that and AVS welcome we always like new faces and ideas

Question for those on wendie plan....I know the whole idea behind it is to mix up the amount of points each day but in the end (21 meals later) you are still eating the same amt of points for the week. Do you think if I moved my SHP day to my weigh in day (I do it first thing in the am) that it would make any difference in the big picture?
The reason I ask is I have a really hard time meeting those points mid week and if I do it right after weigh in --in my head I will look at it as the rest of the week to lose? I am just trying to get over this hump I am on

Hey Nancy, my work out buddy was sticking to her plan but not loosing, I told her to hang in there and it would happen. After a couple of weeks, we evaluated her daily plan and discovered she was eating more than 50% or her points in the evening. I told her I eat about 10 points for breakfast, about 7-8 points for lunch and 1 points for a afternoon snack and usually about 5-6 points for dinner and a point for a afterdinner treat. I get 20-27 points a day...so I flex points and some day eat less. I try to eat the biggest meal in the morning...1. It jump starts your matobilism (I know I missed that word)...2. You have all day to work it off...I eat a little less at lunch because I am usually less hungry because I have had a good breakfast...and I eat the least amount in the evening when I have less time to burn it off. It works for me and I don't go to bed feeling so full.

I weigh in on Friday mornings in my b-day suit...and if I have big dinner plans it is usually over the weekends...so I can "splurge" on Saturday or Sunday and have the week to work it off...

Just hang in there, I believe our bodies have to play "catch up" and just because the scales don't reflect weight loss...doesn't mean you arn't loosing. If you are working out, muscle weighs more than fat, and you may be converting muscle....which in turns burns fat faster and lean muscle looks better than fat...LOL...don't we all know that!

Don't give up and don't let this discourage you...makes some changes that fit your lifestyle and see what happens...we are all here to get you though this!

Going to look FINE in 09-Reece

I am going to have a look at my eating journal and see if that is the case with my points adding up mostly in the eve. As for exercise I am afraid I have not got into a routine since I started ww in Aug. (medical stuff) but in three more weeks I should be cleared by the Dr. to go full swing...that is what I am counting on anyway.

I am going to try and adjust my points to so that the high pt days are just after weigh in and lower points are towards the end of the week. I will keep you posted and next weigh in is on Sunday morning in my b**suit too

Afternoon all!!

Nancy I know how you feel.. it was like that week I barely lost .2 lbs... you feel like you've worked so hard all week, given up so much and then to not see that effort reflected on the scale can be so discouraging. I think the others gave you some great ideas though. Yes I would suggest eating your high day on your wi day.. that is what works for me. I wi on friday and sat and sun I use my flex pts so that during the week I am only at 20 pts a day and I exercise at least 20 min a day to help burn everything off from the weekend. But I still flucuate. I mean goodness, look at The Biggest Loser show. They can bust their butt for 6 hrs a day in the gym and not lose any weight that week. It's just the mystery of the human body But hang in there! this week will be better for ya, I just know it!

Reece, yeah I'm not a big point eater in the evenings. In fact for years I have a 6pm cut off. They say to stop eating 2 hrs before you go to bed because that is when your body starts to slow and you'll put more in fat storage than you would the rest of the day. So I've just always done that. No food after 6pm Can you tell me what all those numbers are under your name? I know the first is your starting weight but what are those in the middle? they can't all be your currant weight, lol.. just curious

AvsGirly, WELCOME!! and congrats on that stunning weight loss!!!! that is awesome! I can't wait to get to know you better please post often

Tex, yeah the time change had me going crazy yesterday, lol.. I totally forgot it was coming and we went shopping in the city and I thought we were getting home so late.. when I went to bed I asked my dh what time it was and he said 15 till 10.. what?!!! I never go to bed that late. I would have had to pry my eyes open, lol... then I looked at my cell phone and it said 15 until 9pm, lol.. much better, lol.. We had to go change all the clocks in the house after that, lol

Well how was everyone's halloween? It was alot of fun here. The kids had a blast. Got lots of walking in which it good. I only ate like two pieces of chocolate.. just wasn't in the mood I guess. I want to buy me a new pair of jeans. Went to old navy and I guess they make their jeans bigger because I could fit into a size 8 and I know I'm not an 8 yet, lol.. so I felt like a fraud and put them back on the rack. Plus I didn't find the cut flattering. I have the hardest time finding jeans. Because I'm losing weight I only have two pairs that I wear. Guess I'll wait until I'm down another size.. hopefully by thanksgiving!
I'm gonna try attaching a pic of the kids, hope it works, lol..be back later!

Halloween did me in! LOL....with my daughters candy laying around the house its so hard not to dip in. So back on the straight and narrow tomorrow

Reece, I like the idea of using more points in the morning, Ill have to try that. I ususally have 10 or more points left for dinner and thats probably too much. I have a hard time stopping eatting at night, tho...which is maybe why I save points without realizing it.

Wow I just analyzed when I ate the most points over the past 10 weeks I need to do some switching around it breaks down like this:
D -highest
L - high
S - Med
B - Med
And I eat 90% of my snack points at night so my dinner and snacks take up 1/2 my day or more in points and all eaten after 6pm

Guess I better do some re-evaluating of how I eat

hi ladies! i just started ww again last month as the baby weight was just not coming off. since i am a stay-at-home mama, i don't have a chance to get to meetings, but i need to chat with others and be accountable. i just joined this site this morning and i really think that it will help me. everyone seems to be so positive and with great energy like that - this can't be a bad thing!

Good morning all!

Well it looks like another week is gonna fly by. Can you believe it's november already?! thanksgiving and xmas coming up.. Here is my question of the day for you.. if you still do stockings for xmas do you do a theme or how do you fill them?

Nancy (tiger) I agree with you completely, I've always been part of 3fc for losing weight. Never joined another online community because I've always gotten the support I need here I just love this place

Sarah WELCOME!! how old is your baby? Yeah I used ww after baby #3 for me and it was amazing results. I was a stay at home mom then too. Please post often, I can't wait to get to know you!

Nancy, my dinner is always my biggest points for me too. But I don't snack after dinner and like I said yesterday, I have a 6pm cut off so maybe it doesn't bother me too much. I think though just by changing up your pts days for you this week will make a difference too.

Well I was starving after I picked the kids up last night so I hit taco bell for dinner. I had 10 pts left so I got my favorite, a burrito supreme, exactly 10 pts! it was so good and it tasted even better knowing I hadn't cheated or anything today though I have pork chops thawing.. no idea how I'm gonna make them yet though..
alrighty, I'll check back in later!

Hi everyone! Hope all is well in your corners of the world! I have a NSV that I would like to report. I have been exercising steadily (5-6 days a week) for the last several months. Before I began exercising, I got winded walking the 1/4 mile to and from the mailbox. I began the 1 mile Walk Away the Pounds video to start my exercise regime. I just "graduated" to the 2 mile walking workout, and although I was tired and I sweated, I finished it! I was so happy and a bit emotional. Once I was done, I paused and just teared up - I know, kinda sappy, but I was just overwhelmed. I never thought I would have the energy or stamina to "graduate" past the 1 mile video.

AVS and Sarah We're glad to see you both here! Keep checking on and posting - everyone here is fabulous and has lots of great ideas! Ask any questions that you may need to - someone will try to answer as soon as we can!

Nancy - I think switching your SHD to the WI day is good - I may try the same thing too after I finish this Biggest Loser Challenge that I'm doing with my friends. This Friday WI is killing me because I NEVER stick to plan on the weekend I just get so excited about the weiht loss for the week, I figure I can go off plan on Saturday! Anyway, I think everones body is different with regards to food and when you eat it. I eat about 1/2 -1/3 of my points at night (7-12 pts) and I have steadily lost weight. I never have bought into the whole "don't eat after 6 theory", but that's JMO!

Reece - Glad to see you! I think you're right about our body's needing to catch up to weight loss. I also think that sometimes our bodies need to turn fat to muscle before it can effectively burn fat - does that make sense? I sure hope it's true and I'm not killing myself with cardio for nothing!

Tiger - Hang in there! The Halloween candy is in buckets around here and most are easy to resist EXCEPT for the butterfinger and candy corn Yesterday I packed all of the tempeting candies up in a brown sack and sent them to work with DH - I can stay away from the other stuff, but those Butterfinger just seem to call my name

Spryng - Hope you had a great day yesterday! My hubby (and the other dads) took the kiddos trick or treating and he let me visit (and hand out candy) with my friends. We had fun laughing and the kiddos had a blast trick or treating!
