Looks like it's time to start a new thread!
Yesterday my family ordered chinese food for dinner.... I panicked! But it turned out ok. I ended up have 1/2 cup steamed rice (specially ordered by me instead of fried rice), 1 cup chicken chow mein, and 1 cup stir fry veggies. I ate all that for 11 points, and I was FULL. I ended up going over my daily target by about 5 points, but that's what the flex points are for. Bf comes tomorrow... SO excited to have someone around trying to eat healthy with me.

Hello Everyone,

I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend. I did not stay within my points this weekend. We ended up going to Chick-fil-A and I had the Chicken Sandwich 9.5, Fries Small 5.5 and a regular Coke 5 so that one meal was 20 points! Yikes! Yesterday was a better day since I stayed within 24 points. Anyway, I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Jo

So, at some point during the week I had lost 3 lbs! (mostly due to having a sore in my mouth that made it difficult to reach my points every day) But Saturday for DH's bday we stopped and ate at Pizza Hut. And even then I would have been within points if I had like a Fiber One bar for dinner. But nope, we had a church party that evening, and I definitely ate too much, including cake and ice cream. And I wasn't very good at counting my points Sunday. A day and a half off plan, and yesterday I was back at 178! Gained back the three plus another one! I was so discouraged. But I guess some of it was water-weight from traveling or something, because after a day on-plan I was back down to 176.5 this morning. So we'll call it a net loss for the week (barely), but I am mourning those 3 lbs I had lost by mid-week! A lesson to us all that I've noticed before: if you've JUST lost it, it can come back twice as fast!

ctrsara - I can't count how many times that's happened to me too, its crazy!

I must've gone crazy yesterday because I joined a gym! For the first time in my life I had a crazy idea like that and went for it o.o I dragged a friend along with me, and we're doing our first day today. Wish me luck! And send good vibes that I'll stick with it @__@

So far today I am within my points Yay! After 2 weeks of dieting is usually the point where I lose my motivation and revert back to my old eating habits. I will be looking to everyone for support and encouragement by reading your postings and hearing about your success.

Sara - I think that I must have some water weight issues too because today I was down 1 1/2 pounds. I did not stick to my points this weekend. Hmmm???

XenophonicScream - Have fun at the gym!

Well I have stayed within my points so far this week but......
my daughter is flying in friday night and spending the holiday weekend with us I am a shear panic. this is my first week with ww and I am already headed for disaster!

I am hoping I can find items on the resturant menu's that I can eat and stay within my points

could any of you suggest a breakfast choice in a resturant that will only use 6 or so points?
Lunch on Saturday will be at a rodeo not sure how I can plan food there, dinner on Saturday ....oh my gosh I hope I survive
Sunday family cookout on the grill..I can control that one

Any and all advice welcome

Nancy - a breakfast choice that would be good is eggs with two slices of bread with juice or coffee. Lunch at the rodeo you could get a hot dog with ketchup and a drink, just think smaller portions but you can still have some of the food. You just want to not eat the junk, I know this is hard as I love the junk food and it always smells so good. You can do it and if you are not exactly 100% OP you can make it up as long as you don't totally overeat.

You can do it and take one day at a time. I'll check back later.

I bet going to a rodeo is similar to us at a dog show.....
we pack food
we bring our own drinks in a cooler and some plain old sandwiches....
usually there is a place where you could get a grilled cheese or a sandwich and a soda.... most often there is a place for sandwiches.

my breakfast of choice at a restaurant would be the same as above a couple eggs on toast or a bagel.....

good luck and have fun

Thank you for the suggestions!
Well then breakfast will be egg beaters (don't know if that is better than eggs or not but I got this cholestorol think going), slice of toast and maybe some sliced tomato's?

Lunch for the rodeo--great idea to pack my own, the rest of the group can eat the junk! I will have to make a lunch that is purse friendly LOL-got a few days to think on that.

Can you carry your unused points over to one day? I have managed not to use up all my points and as of last night I have 7 points extra..can those be used on Saturday?

Default Morning...

I did my WI today and I stayed the same, though I did find myself wanting to eat the "bad" foods since I made my goal. I had to work just as hard, so I think this is going to take some adjustment.

Nancy - the egg beaters is 1 pt for every 1/4 cup which is better than one egg. 1 egg is 2 pts. So breakfast will be good. Lunch- great idea to pack your own lunch, there are plenty of things you can pack that don't have to stay cold.

Everyone else - keep up the good work. For those who are doing BBQ's this weekend try the Oscar Meyer Fat Free hot dogs they are only 1pt versus a regular hot dog which is like 5/6 points.

Hope you all are doing well, I'll check back in later.

Wow did not know there was a fat free hot dog! I am going to have to look for it. Now if they would just make a hot dog bun with only 1 pt my life could be heaven...

I have been thinking about that rodeo since that is my biggest challenge--bringing someting with me that will be filling and keep me from wanting the fast food they will be selling there. And I am a complete loss, I always pack a lunch for work but it is always something that has to be heated in the microwave. What are some cold lunch alternatives????

Fiber one bars are filling and only 2 pts, if you buy some decent (high fiber, not high calorie) bread, you can have a basic ham/turkey and cheese sandwich for like 6-7 pts (or even less). It's even more filling if you pile on some veggies. (which I don't like to do - lettuce only for me!)
Good luck this weekend! Just remember that you want to lose the weight even more than you want the junk food. If you feel you're going to crack, just have a bite or two of someone else's and savor it!

Doing pretty well here. More or less on plan, and if I don't crash this wknd I will have lost weight for the week! Wish me luck...

ETA: forgot to add that today I'm wearing jeans that I just -barely- fit into soon before I found out I was pregnant with my second. Yay! I actually waited too long to try them on (forgot about them) and they're a little too loose. Sad day, right? I'm about 8 lbs lighter than I was when I got pregnant with her!

hey guys, haven't been around much been studying like crazy. Took my comp exam yesterday and how I did is anyones guess. Many people fail them the first time so I am hoping I dont have to retake it but who knows.... I typed ten single space pages during the 5 hours that it took me to take the exam....

I feel like I know the stuff so its just a matter of whether I showed them that I know the stuff..... so moving on.... The first thing I did when I got home from the U was go to Borders and buy two books to read for fun (I generally don't buy books, preferring to borrow or library but I would have been really bummed if I could finally read for fun and there was nothing to read) so I am reading the kid book Twilight and I bought another one.... I also found Nickel and Dimed that I needed for the class I am teaching and Bowling for Columbine cheap again because I want to show a snippet in the class I am teaching.....

I am down 2.4 this week so thats excellent, brings me to six total in the two weeks I have been watching what I eat... so I am pleased about that.....

I am a bit concerned about this weekend as its the fair so we will go and do that and while I could watch everything I am probably going to eat what I want..... and get right back at it tomm. or the next day.... we go to the fair once a year and we don't eat alot but there are certain things that we like so I am not going to fret about it.....

Nancy.... good idea on packing lunch.... we do that all the time when we go to events... not even because we won't eat the food there but usually its disgusting.... and expensive..... I personally would rather have a hamburger that hasn't sat in grease and sandwhich not made three days prior... but that is just me....
This past year when we were in the UK we went to Crufts, the big dog show and my husband ate a hotdog and he was soooo sick the next day..... sooooo sick.....so there we were on vacation..... an 7 hour plane ride from home and he is puking his brains out.... we got a lot more careful of eating fast food at places since then.....

hope ou guys are doing well.....

36paws sorry about your husband and the hotdog...that is the kind of story that really makes me want to pack and go.
I looked on the recipe section here and found a turkey wrap with just 2 points so I am going to make all the fixuns and put it together just before I leave on saturday. Hope it tastes as good as it sounds

Hey all! No I have not abandoned the board (I've been gone for a week now!), we just got back from shooting a wedding and engagement photos in Atlanta. We didn't have access to a computer nearly the entire time we were gone and when we did have access, we were at a FedEx Kinkos and being charged by the minute so we kept it to the minimal of checking only business stuff.... I will have an update later... for now - it's back to editing!
