Default Fighting off evening hunger

Hi all! I am new to this thread and just wanted to introduce myself. I have already lost 10 lbs through calorie counting. I am getting tired of counting calories though, it is tedious and I think counting points will be easier. I love to work out, but have a hard time finding the time. I am currently at 150, looking to get down to about 135.
I am finding that my biggest struggle so far is running out of points by 5pm and then feeling SO hungry around 7/8pm. Any suggestions?

My DH used to fall back on his own version of the veggie soup when he was looking for an evening snack and he was truly still hungry.

He'd use bouillon to make a cup of broth and he'd chop up fresh vegetables into it then put it all in the microwave until it was hot. You have to get the lowest sodium bouillon you can since some brands can help you retain water they are so salty.

I met this challenge by eating 94% ff popcorn and diet soda. Its only 1 pt for the popcorn and 0 for the soda. Its a "cheap" way to feel like you are eating a lot without the added points. GL!

You can always try what some others have done: start counting your points at 5pm for a 24 hour period beginning then. You may end up with a very light lunch the next day, but this may help you balance your points more evenly. Whatever you choose, good luck!

This might sound like a weird combination, but I dip my popcorn in barbeque sauce as a no point dip. It keeps me busy with all those little pieces to dip and actually tastes good.

If I'm out of points for the day and want something, I either grab a piece of gum to chew, or I'll make myself a big cup of herbal tea. You can add 1T of sugar-free coffee mate (I like the french vanilla) to it for no points. Of course, there is always a carrot in the fridge. I buy the big carrots, and then I use the peeler to shave it into thin layers. I eat them one at a time, and they last a long time, and seem to fill me up. (Weird, I know.)

I have been known to eat dill pickles but I am not sure if they have points or not

Remember.. you do have flex points that you can use, unless you have included them already with your daily point intake. If you spread them out through the week that is an extra 5 points per day. 5 points can be a whole meal!

If you are already using your 5 FP's per day, try incorporating more veggies and fiber into your other meals along with a big glass of water. This will help 'fill you up' then, and if you are hungry later, you will still have points left.

Edited to add... I have those steam in the bag veggies that can just be cooked in the microwave. If I am really hungry at night, I can eat the whole bag without worry and I am satisfied. They are hot, a little crunchy and taste really good to me. I especially like the broccoli.
