It was a bit of a rough week, ending as it did with a stomach virus (yuck!) and a second (!) interview for a job. I guess the only good part of the stomach virus was my weigh in - I lost 2.4 pounds - the rest of what I had gained a couple of months ago plus one more which puts me in new territory - lowest yet! I'm trying to make sure that I keep moving downward. I had a very tough yoga class tonight which was good and I'm trying to remain as stress-free as I can while I wait to hear what happens with the job.
Carla - hoping this week is saner than last week.
Karen - do you still stop by? If you do, check in!!
Today my electronic communications went awry. First my PC was acting up - I'd type and it would show up five minues later. I guess the PC just wanted as powering it down and back up solved the problem. Then my phone kept giving me an "insert SIM card" message even though the SIM card was in. Taking it out and putting it back solved that one. Anyway...
Judy - Happy Hanukkah! This is the latke holiday right? I think I'll take myself to Trader Joes and get their frozen potato pancakes. Not the same, but close enough. Having a stomach virus is a heck of a way to do it, but congrats on a great loss and on getting into new territory! I have my fingers crossed that you get good news on the new job.
Flower - Good job on a long walk and a great loss!
Not much new here. Ana was off of school today because the majority of the school buses used in our district were vandalized over night and since they serve close to 3/4s of the students, they closed the schools. I was looking forward to sleeping in a bit after we got the call, but we live a few blocks from the bus yard and the darn news helicopters were circling over our house for over an hour. Very annoying. Other than that, hanging on the best I can with a crazy work schedule, etc.
A big for all the losers out there! I am back down to my ticker weight, which I am actually excited about! I started a new fitness routine, and we'll see if that makes a difference this month. The last couple of weeks have been pretty stressful ones-my sister moved to a new place, I had two finals, my laptop fizzled out on me (with my take-home finals on it) and a friend died unexpectedly. I'm amazed (and proud of myself) that I didn't just cave in and eat whatever like I used to do.
Sister - I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. Good for you for finding outlets other than food to deal with the stress and the loss!
Flower - congratulations on a great loss and on getting in a loooong walk!
Carla - Sorry that the crazy work schedule continues. OMG, I can't believbe someone would do that to the school buses!!!! How are your joints doing? How did you fair weather-wsie this week? I was thinking of you as they were talking about the storms last weekende.
Thanks for the Hanukkah wishes. Yup, this is the latkes holiday which we are going to have tomorrow when we go over to my mom's for dinner. I MUST get some activity in. Since I am on core these days, my leader says that I should count 1 latke as 2 points (all but the oil is core) but mom's latkes surely go down easy!
This weekend will surely be a challenge. First Hanukkah dinner at mom's with latkes (thankfully she decided not to bake her chocolate cake). Then on Sunday, we are going out to dinner with friends, to the Long Island Peter Luger's. Yummy steak but NOT core. Oh well, it's likely that I will use up most if not all of my weekly points by the end of the weekend and will just have to be careful the rest of the week.
The hardest part this week was not eating through the (good) stress of the week (I did so-so on that front) because..(drumroll........) I got the job!!!!! I got a call as I was about to leave the house on Wednesday morning! So, F/T leave replacement starting Jan. 2nd!
I have to get going. I'm going into the new district's personnel office this morning. I'll try to get back later.
