Greetings Girlies

Just getting us started for another week. I hope we all will see a loss this week. I am focused on making my halloween goal and then it will be time to start thinking about our Thanksgiving goals. I will check back in later so have a great Sunday.

Well big d'oh! on me! I woke up to the arrival of TOM. THAT would explain at least part of the munchomatic behavior. (The extended crankiness and funk too

Here's to a better week of control and contentment.

(wish that guy would wake up and make me some morning coffee! )

maybe I should go make some- catch you all later.

How often do you check in? I do Weight Watchers at home, because I can't afford the weekly meetings because I am out on Workmen's Comp. I don't own a scale at home ( I would go crazy if I did) However, I do weigh myself every month at my Dr.'s office. So, hopefully we can get to know each other. Take care,~ Synergy

Hi, just want to check in.

I started WW in September and lost about 6 pounds but have lapsed and gained it all back and I think a little more.

I am now back on it and extremely determined to do well.

(I am Australian and have 15kg to lose)

Nice to see you back Daph!

Welcome Synergy and PBL!

Hello everyone, it's been a few days since I've been around, almost a week. I had a bad slump. I gained 4 pounds and teetered that line of getting myself drop kicked out of ONEderland. I have not counted a single point in over a week. So, today is a restart. I've decided, no scale until Sat's weigh in and I'll just pick up where I left off. I've done well today and have a renewed determination. I think I needed that week off to get my priorities back in line. I was dealing with more stressful stuff (there's something growing in my boob, but they're not sure what) and I just didn't care about eating right. I had a mammogram and ultrasound on Thursday and, while we're still not sure what it is, it looks benign. I have an appt with my OB/GYN in a couple of weeks to follow up and then I'll have the same tests run in 6 more months (this was the 6 month follow up from the initial "finding") if he says it's ok to wait that long. In the midst of all of that stuff my grandma was hospitalized (she's home now and doing better), my daughter had her 3rd tympanic rupture in 6 weeks (eardrum, so we're looking at getting adnoids removed now, her follow up appt with the specialist is Oct 30), and, as I may have mentioned, my youngest is having his renal scan on Nov 2, which makes me a nervous wreck the month before because I am a total worrywart. Arghhhhhhhhh! Does it ever stop?!?!?!?! How do the other moms do it and make it look like it's second nature? Ugh!!!!!!

So anyway, onward I go!

Julz - I missed a lot! For what it's worth I think you guys are doing the right thing. It may not be as bad as you think. I stayed with my parents for a month after my divorce and I thought it would be terrible, but it wasn't so bad and I didn't have my own space. It really was what I needed to get back on my feet at the time and the long term benefits were well worth it. Hang in there girl!

I don't remember who had the pumpkin muffin recipe, but I tried it this weekend and they were yummy, thanks!

likenoother - great loss! Keep it up!

Mom2QJandT--I'm sorry to hear about everything that is going on with you. We're here for you.

Synergy--It depends on how bad the craving is...if its really bad I take a little taste of what it is and move on. Not that bad, I drink water and am usually over it in a few minutes. Also the main thing with me is distraction, distraction, and distraction. I get on here and post, I write in my blog, I read my magazines, read a book, talk on the phone, something to take my mind off the food.

I read a book, it is almost impossible to eat while reading a book.

I also brush my teeth, go for a walk, vaccuum, call my Grandma, read up on 3FC, have a piece of sugar free hard candy, read my kids a story, call a friend on the phone, play cards or a board game with my kids, clean out a drawer or closet, drink a bottle of water, do a crossword or word search, take a bath or shower, or go run an errand. I know this is silly, but I consider my books and puzzle books as important to my weight loss as the foods I buy. The key is to stay busy!

If all else fails, and I really, really, really want something specific I plan it into my day the next day, eat it, count it, and move on. I'm a big fan of eating half of things. Like if I'm craving a Big Mac, that's 13 points, I can plan that into a day with a little sacrifice. However, I can plan half a Big Mac into a day with no hard feelings. I get it, cut it in two and, before I even take one bite of my half, I throw the other half away. I don't see that as being any more wasteful than putting food in my mouth that I don't need. If it is excess, it is waste. I do get some odd looks, but if they're trying to figure me out they're leaving someone else alone!

Hope that helps!

Good morning ladies!

Sorry I haven't been around as much lately... been packing for "the move". I'm actually getting excited about it. Hubby and I have been writing, figuring, budgeting, etc. I'm excited about the possibilities that will come from this. I heard a saying once that "sometimes, in order to get to the picnic, you have to go through the bushes" Actually, a half-drunk former co-worker of my husband said that...lol. But, it does somewhat apply in this situation.

I had an NSV this past weekend. My jeans were looking really bad on me, they had gotten so baggy. So, we went thrift shoppin' so I could get some new ones (well, new to me anyway). I'm not ready to spend big money on new jeans when I'm not at goal yet, so we enjoy the deals at thrift stores. Anyway, my old jeans are size 24s. I bought some brand new Levi's (the tags were still on them!) in size 18!!!!!! They fit perfect. I don't have to suck in to button them or anything. My fat rolls don't flop out over the edge... I'm truly fitting in a size 18. Now, I know that there are differences in sizes between brands...but I figure going from a size 24 in one brand to a size 18 in another brand - there is some kind of a loss there! I was so excited!!! ALSO, due to my lovely huge hips, all my shirts were bordering between sizes XL and XXL. I bought a new Old Navy polo shirt... in size XL and I don't have to stretch it to fit on my hips... it lays so nicely! I was SO excited!!!! AND, bought them both for a total of $8. Yes, big spender here! I never realized how much better my body is looking... but to get into clothes that fit how they're supposed to fit... lemme tell you, I'm turning into a hot mamma!

PBL & Synergy - This board is stinkin' awesome!!! You'll love it here, just jump on in! Synergy - for any cravings I have, if I can't spare the points, I chew gum. It's always seemed to help. Otherwise, I don't deprive myself. We made brownies the other day. I was CRAVING them. So, I cut the # of servings. And, I ate 2 of them!!! You bet I wrote it down, accounted for it and was SO happy. I woke up the next morning and was going to eat another one and hubby had thrown them out. He said he knew I'd reach for one for breakfast and he wasn't about to let that happen (God, I love that man!). He was right. I don't mind "wasting" the food (as Mom2QJandT said about the Big Mac). It means that my body isn't getting ahold of it and turning it to fat.

Likenoother - listen... you can't keep having these 3 pound weight losses all to yourself... pass the 3 pound love around! lol. CONGRATS though, that's awesome!!!!!

Mom2QJandT - sheesh! You do have a lot on your plate. I'm a worrywart too...and food has always been my "go-to" in times like that. Sounds like you're back on track though.

Good Morning

Mom2: Glad to see you back too!! I hate that you are going through so much right now and trying to lose weight. I had a bilateral lumpectomy about 5 years ago (benign), so I know how scary that can be. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

London: I can only imagine how happy you are getting into an 18....that is awesome. It is nice to see that all your hard work has paid off. Good luck with your move.

It is another hot and humid overcast day here....yuck!!! I wish it would just rain and get it over with. I am ready for cooler weather! Now I am off to do my most favorite thing in the world (not) go grocery shopping. Has anyone tried the WW candies? They are not bad for 1 point, but they are a little pricey.

Don't forget to drink your H20!!
