Default WW Newbie

Hello everyone

I want to introduce myself
I am a 29 yr old wife to a great husband & mom to 2 wonderful kids (9 & 12)
I have hypothyroidism & I was just recently diagnosed Hypoglycemic
I am looking to lose about 65lbs, I am thinking of doing WW and would love some suggestions. I really can afford to do the WW meetings & such so I am trying to go off what I can find on the internet.

I tried the South Beach and it did work but it is not to cost friendly, and with WW I know I can use the frozen dinners for work and don't have to eat eggs for breakfast (high cholesterol). I was down to 190 but my meds needed to be adjusted and I gained 11lbs in 3 weeks so I am trying again "if it first you don't succeed"!

Well I look forward to any suggestions & advice you can give.

Thanks
Cheryl

Welcome Cheryl!!! You'll love it here!

I am doing WW strictly at home. I can't afford the meetings either! If you are able to get any of the books on Ebay, do it! I got 2 of them. One of them is a book explaining the Flex Points and Core programs. And, it has the test in it to see how many points a day you should be eating and a HUGE list of foods and their points in the back. I also got the Dining Out Companion with listings of all different restaurants and points for their foods. I also invested in a points calculator. It has been a lifesaver!!! Since Aug 15, I have lost 12 pounds. You can do it!

Glad you found this wonderful site.

I don't do weight watchers but I did want to say hello. There are nice people here that are full of encouragement, you will never feel alone again.

Check out the posts you will find people doing all kinds of things to lose weight. From Weight Watchers, like you are talking about to counting calories.

Myself, I use a salad plate instead of a lunch plate. A lunch plate instead of a dinner plate. Watching my portion size is really helping a lot. When the family has one of my favorites I eat with them. When they don't I eat lean cuisines, yes they can be expensive. I stock up on them when they are on sale. I don't have a lot of money either.

No matter what way you chose to lose weight. Remember none of us are on a diet. Diets don't work, we all know that. You, along with everyone else here are on a life change. This is something we will do for the rest of our lives not just until we lose weight. Make sure it is something you can keep doing.

Please post as much as you like anywhere you like. We are all interested in how you are doing.

Remember, when you think you are all alone. When there isn't a person in sight to give you the encouragement you need. God is right there beside you. Usually yelling, put down that candy bar.
