Default For my fellow Hot Dog lovers!

I love hot dogs..... but, since starting this weight loss journey, I know that a GOOD tasting hot dog requires a lot of my WW points (I looked in the WW book, and they had it listed as 5 points!!!). DH and I were at Walmart yesterday and he found "Hebrew National Beef Franks". They are SOOOO good!!!!
For 1 dog:

Calories 45
Fat 1.5
Fiber 0

So, for WW people... that's 1 point for a frank!!!! YAY!!!

Today for lunch, I'm pairing that with a whole wheat bun (for 2 pts) and 1/2 cup chili (for 2.5 points), some onion and mustard for a HOT DOG GREAT CHILI DOG! WHOOHOO!

Anyway, just wanted to share!

PS, they were on sale at Walmart, 2 packs for $5 (there are 7 in a pack)

In my opinion, they taste just like (if not better) than regular hot dogs! We used the Hormel No Bean chili in a can. For 1 cup, it's 5 points (but I used less than 1/2 cup on my dog). It was SOOO good. I felt SO naughty eating it , but knew that it was okay! That was a good feeling, let me tell ya!

I LOVE hot dogs! I was scared being on WW I couldn't eat a hot dog and be able to stay within my daily points, but BF and I found some fat-free hot dogs (can't remember who makes them) that are only 1 point each! Throw them on the grill, and they don't even taste different than regular hot dogs. We use WhiteWheat hot dogs bun (1 point per bun) and we make our own chili topping with sloppy joe mix, chili powder and ground beef (1/2 cup is 3 points, but I never even need that much even for 2 hot dogs.). They are a nice treat when you have a craving for some junk food, but still able to keep the points value low enough.

Lite Wheat/Light Wheat hot dog buns tend to be high in fiber, low in calories, and almost no fat which =low points. I use the Giant brand and they are 1 pt. I love the Oscar Mayer FF hot dogs!

DH will be happy to hear about these! Before I joined WW I bought a box of Louis Rich Turkey dogs & they're 3 points each! UGH!
I think I'll give the rest to my mom - she loves 'em!

Shy Moment, if you go on the Hebrew National website, and click on the box that says "the kosher difference" - there's a link in there for "where to find hebrew national products". they ask what you're looking for (97% fat free franks) and your zip code and they'll tell you who sells them....
