Is there a difference in points?

  • I have collected all my WW things that I have collected over the last couple of years to prepare to get started again and I have a question. I realize that I have journals for two different plans one is for flex and the other winning points. I also noticed one has a single point number and the other a range...now for my question. Did the figuring of points change when the plan changed. I ask this because I noticed in another post that was listing popcorns that the points seemed to be different depending on which plan it was. I want to make sure that I am figuring my points right. I'm not even sure which plan is the most current. Can someone help me out please? Thanks
  • Flex is the most current plan, at the moment! I've never done the Winning points, but to my understanding the range that you had with WP is your target points with some of the 35 weekly flex points added in....example would be a range of 24-29, 24 would be your target number, and the extra 5 points would be like the newer flex points. Eat them or don't, the choice is yours. Starting fresh, I would go ahead and start with the Flex Points plan as it is the newest. Find what your points would be based on your current weight, and start counting!

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong....I want nyGrace to have the most accurate info to start her journey!

    Good luck!
  • Thank You so I can put some of this stuff back in the drawer. I was looking at the slide rulers and they seem to be the same so am I right to assume that the actual formula for figuring the points is the same. So for example say a taco would be the same amount of points on either flex or winning points.
  • The difference in the two plans is how points are allocated for each person NOT how points for foods are calculated.

Winning Points did not have a weekly points allowance. Instead, they gave you a range of points that you had each day.

TurnAround is the plan right now, with some tweaks due in January. Flex is only half of the TurnAround program, CORE is the other half. With Flex, you get a set points target, but have 35 points to play with.
Everyone gets a different points target based on their weight, but we all get the same 35 weekly points allowance.

Winning Points and TurnAround both calculate points for food in the same way; -3 success did not have a 4 gram fiber cab, and therefore many foods were lower in points.

    Hope that helps!
  • Quote: ...Winning Points did not have a weekly points allowance. Instead, they gave you a range of points that you had each day....
But that range now is the same as the FPs (WINK) To add on to this...Winning points you banked what you didn't use between the minimum and the maximum for the day but now instead of banking they give you an allowance to use earlier in the week if you need. (my thought) they didn't like the reverse banking some were trying to do.
  • this is what i was looking at and trying to figure out... when i asked if figuring the points is different

    ORVILLE REDDENBACHERS:

    1) 94% Fat-Free Smart Pop Movie Theater Butter Flavor
    (1 bag yields 14 cups @ 15 cal/~.33 fat*/~.5 fiber# per cup)
    210 calories/4.62 fat/7 fiber
    1-2-3 Success/The 10% Difference: 3 Points
    Winning Points: 4 Points

why is it a different number of points for 1-2-3 and winning points?
  • I'm guessing the difference comes in because we are now capped at counting 4 fiber grams at a time....the proportions you listed shows 7 grams fiber, but you would only count 4 of them!
  • Kelly is right. When we went from 1-2-3 Success to Winning Points they capped the fiber because people were adding Benefiber to food to lower the points and/or eating such high fiber foods but because they still had calories they people weren't losing.
