  • I was looking at these at Wal-Mart. You get all 5 veges in just one can! Is it good or not so good? I would have bought them, but I didn't want to be dissappointed and then have them sit in my fridge taking up space.
  • I like V8 but 1/2 a cup is 1 veggie serving. While it says it has 5 servings in it -- really it takes 5 servings to make up that 1 official serving.

The other thing to remember it is very, very high in SODIUM!
  • Try the low sodium V-8. It's only 80 mgs of sodium for one can. Tastes pretty good too! You actually taste veggies, not salt.
  • Not the best choice because it lacks fiber that you get from the whole veggie.
  • Try purchasing one out of a vending machine or out of the cooler at Wal-mart or grocery store first to see if you like it. You don't want to spend the $ and then find that you can't stand to drink it! JMO....

Good or not so good for what? I like V8, but I don't count it as a veggie serving. I like it really cold as a nice low-cal pick me up in the afternoon. You can also use it for a soup base.
  • I keep one in the frig at work. It's great for a late afternoon snack. Keeps me from choosing something I shouldn't.

    Well, for taste, what else?
  • Personally- I really enjoy V8 and I keep a couple in my desk or the fridge at work for emergencies. They are good as an add-on to lunch or I use them for the 4:00 pm slump. One will keep me going until 5:30 when I get home and start dinner.

They are high in salt so I wouldn't rely on them all the time. I do count mine as a serving of veg but nothing beats fresh veggies.

I would buy one at a grocery store or convenience store to try it out before buying a case of the stuff.

BTW - Costco usually has them in a case for less than what grocery stores charge.
  • Ok, I tried it this morning. I poured it, cold, into a glass, and had a few sips. I didn't like it Should it be at room temperature?
  • Depends...I like it cold.

Do you like tomato juice because it is really the same concept of it.

But life is too short to drink something you don't like. :P

True! I'd rather eat the veges
  • As a beverage, V-8 and tomato juice make me gag, but I like them as soup bases. I heat them in a small pan with equal parts of water, and add a teaspoon of chicken broth base (about 1 bouillon cube) for ever 12 oz or so of liquid. Then I add veggies like corn, peas, carrots, beans, onion, and cabbage. And if I don't use corn or peas, I might add some potato or pasta.

It makes a really good vegetable soup.
  • I like V-8 either way. It's not everyone's thing though so if you don't like it then don't force it on yourself.
  • I prefer the original veg. based v8 at room temp. I have yet to find one of the fruit flavored ones that I like.
