Question Shirataki Noodles (only 1 point)

Has anyone tried Shirataki Noodles?
I saw them mentioned on two other websites, and read only good things about them. They have a very low points value, and low carbs too. They are Japanese noodles, made with yam flour.

40 calories, 1g of fat, 6 carbs, and 4g fiber

It sounds too good to be true.

I asked about them at my local Whole Foods, but they did not carry them. I have heard of them, too, and wondered if they were worth ordering.

Iv not heard of them, wow, that would be great. This might sound like a stupid question but if they are made with yam flour, are they sweet?

I have found these noodles in the cold case of the produce section at Safeway. I bought some but haven't tried them. I read that they smell kinda funny so you need to really rinse them well and lightly saute them before you add any sauce.

I've tried them. I don't know if I didn't cook them right or what. The smell disappeared, but I couldn't get past the texture. Hard to explain, really kind of spongy or something. I ended up throwing them out. I may try again at another time since it's such a points bargain, but my first experience wasn't a good one.

Hi, I was just curious..how did you prepare them? I heard that you should rinse them really well and saute them. I have been looking in the stores around me, and haven't found them. What store did you find them in? I also read that there are shirataki noodles and tofu shiratiaki noodles, which did you get?

I read about them on HG and just love noodles, so I would really like to find them.

Thanks,

Sofi
