I have been told so many different ways to calculate points for a recipe, and I was wondering what you all thought. I have looked at all of the different ways, and they vary by a few points, which could really add up during the week if your'e doing it wrong.
1) figure points per ingredient add them up and divide by the number of servings for your points
2) figure total calories/fat/fiber for each ingredient, add up each category, divide by the number of servings and then figure points per serving
or
3) get a program like Mastercook (or use the Recipe Builder with online/e-tools <but many times it is wrong because it caps the fiber at 4 for the entire recipe not per ingredient<) and enter the recipe and let it do the nutritional calculations for you then figure your points
