Jilly's Mom 03-13-2001 09:19 PM

I Just threw a new dessert together.
Our leader had given us a recipe for a similar dessert but I eliminated the things that added points.

1 package of Sugar Free Jello Pudding, I used White Chocolate
1 tub of FF Cool Whip
Just mix them together and 0 pts.

Really rich. My family just loved it, even my Dad and Brother!!!

My Mom added 2 Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies to theirs but my was just as good plain!

It might be good frozen too.

Jilly's mom,

What is the portion size? Can you pig out and eat the whole thing? It sounds WONDERFUL. :) Annie

If you eat the whole thing it isn't. 2 tablespoons of Cool Whip Free is 15 cal and there are 13 servings(? - I think) in the container that is 4 points there. And 1 serving of sugar-free pudding is 25 cal and there are 4 servings in a package and that's another point. So the entire thing would be 5 points (if my servings on the Cool Whip are correct). So if there are 5 servings then they are 1 point a piece.

Actually, I'm a FF Cool Whip freak and I know that there are 25 servings in an 8 oz. tub of FF Cool Whip. The entire tub is 7 points. So, the pudding dessert would end up being 8 points for the entire thing.

Sounds yummy though. I'll have to try it.

See I knew I was wrong on the servings for the Cool Whip. LOL! I don't eat it that much I'd rather have the real stuff.

Jilly's Mom 03-14-2001 09:47 PM

Well as the serving size goes about 2 tbs. is all you can eat. It is very rich. I would say that the 1 pt. is about right for about a half cup -- if you can eat that much of it.
Our leader said to add crushed pineapple to it also and don't drain the juice.

Just in case...On my Jello sugar and fat free pudding(I have US. and canadian jello brand) white chocolate it is 25 cals BUT that is before you make it. You have to add the cals and fat fom the ff milk as well. Mine is 95 cals per/cup and my pudding calls for 2 cups unless you use water(can you?). The whole package usually comes out to 290 calories. Just to make sure I asked my mom before posting(ww leader) and she said thats true.If you add the milk and divide it by 4 servings it comes to 72.5 cals. How can you tell I just had alot of time tonight.

Tiner 03-15-2001 08:59 AM

Unless I'm mistaken, I think that recipe that Jilly's Mom posted was just for the dry pudding mix...you wouldn't add any milk for the recipe.

Question — Did you whisk the cool whip and mix together to make it fluffy or did it turn out kind of dense? I made it yesterday and it IS really rich, but it got kind of heavy, if you know what I mean.

I was actually just saying if you make the pudding regular. Not with the coolwhip. Just in case it was not clear. I have a friend last week that made the pudding thinking it was o points and was mistaken. She read this and brought it to my attention saying I was wrong and so she didn't catch that at the beginning.

I made a variation of this today........

......delish!

It is very filling and very delicious.

I used two tablespoons of the Ultra-Low Fat Cool Whip (the lightest we have here in Canada!), a sprinkling of the White Chocolate fat free jello pudding powder and 1/4 cup each of tinned mandarins and crushed pineapple. It comes out to about two points and fills about 2/3 of a cereal bowl.

I was full when I ate it.
I will definitely make it again.

My mom used to make it when I was a kid and added full fat Cool Whip and mini marshmellows.

Sounds really yummy. I'm for sure going to give this a try!

Is it just me?

So then it is just the powder and not the actual pudding?

Sounds good either way...maybe a few crushed FF/LF vanilla wafers would be good in it too...

Girlie 03-15-2001 07:05 PM

Oh

Personally, I just like the sugar-free jello cups with a tablespoon of FF Cool Whip on top...they are very simple, easy, and no points! Really satisfies the sweet tooth!

spinksy 03-15-2001 09:18 PM

Girlie:

It is just the powder sprinkled over the ingredients and mixed in. It is delicious and the vanilla wafers would be a nice addition.

Girlie 03-15-2001 09:39 PM

Thanks! I'll have to try that!
