Help! I made the ff cool whip + ff white chocolate pudding mix. I whisked the powder into the cool whip and chilled it for about 2 hours. It tasted like uncooked cake batter, and had a floury, gritty texture. Should I have used an electric mixer to more thoroughly incorperate the pudding? I would think that would deflate the coolwhip. Please let me know!

Annie - I had the same results - very grainy, not something I would make again, at least as is. If I try it again, I thought I'd mix the powder in about 1/2 cup of non fat milk and try mixing those two together. What I find is when I mix cool whip with my blender in anything, it looses all its volume, so I think you still want to use a spoon.

Just saw you guys had trouble. I don't know what to tell you. I just used a spoon and sprinkled the pudding on top of the cool whip. The cool whip was thawed but still kind of more solid that not. I don't know whether this helps or not.
I also served all of mine at once, so if it does get "funny" after a few hours, I didn't know that.

Sounds good but what size pudding did you use the smaller box or larger one thanks I want to try them all Dee

I used the small box of Sugar Free pudding and the 8 oz. of the fat free cool whip.
Very yummy!!!

Thanks Jilly's Mom I am going to try it

i have tried this too and it did not turn out well. The texture was very grainy and I had to throw it out.
One thing I do like to make is the chocolate sugar free pudding as directed on the package and fold in some fat free cool whip. It tastes like a chocolate mouse. I wonder what we are doing in the recipe that makes it grainy. Any ideas?

puggiegirl, I don't know what you are doing wrong I did not try it yet. I am happy today I just came from my ww meeting I lost another lb the total is now 21 lbs.
At the meeting someone suggested to put horseradish in with Fat free mayonaise to spread on sandwiches I did not try that yet either. I tried the fat free and reduced sugar Klondike bars they are really good I can't remember off hand the points but I think they were only 4 or 5 and they are big I don't have any more to check the points maybe somone else has tried them too let us know please. Well I have to go to work Keep up all your good work.

Hi! I am not with ww so I am not familiar with the points at all, but I love this dessert!! I tried it by accident a few months ago. My husband laughs at me cause I go crazy for the stuff. I call it my "fluff"!! :)

My favorite flavors are chocolate and butterscotch.

I haven't tried this yet, but it sounds delicious.

I have been reading the posts about the graininess and do you think that it is because you are not using the instant mix but are using the one that needs to be cooked?

And I am a little ocnfused about the points. How has everyone been counting it?

Thanks

I make different versions of this dessert, but I do add milk to the pudding in order to lighten it up a bit. I should try it with fruit juice instead just to see what happens.

Have any of you made the pumpkin mousse? You use vanilla or white chocolate FF SF pudding mix and add a can of pumpkin and some pumpkin pie spice. You can then add some FF cool whip to it for a fluffier texture, or you can just put the cool whip on top. It's marvelous, and really works well at Thanksgiving time and Christmas. My DH loves it, as does my family. It's VERY filling; I find I can only eat a small amount of it at a time. That pumpkin has lots of fiber in it.

I posted about having a grainy problem - I am sure I used ff, sf no cook pudding, so that's not it. I am going to try again using a small amount of milk, but right now I'm on a strawberry shortcake kick - 1 shortcake (1 pt.), 1 cup berries (1 pt.) and cool whip (1 pt.). Very satisfying and low points. Oh, I counted the pudding/cool whip mix as 3 points for 1/4 of the recipe. I have made the pumpkin pudding mixture several times - I really like that and didn't have any grainy problems!
