Default Flex points

This is my second week on WW and I have lost 4.4 pounds so far. I have a question about the 35 flex points. Is it better to use your flex points or not to use them?

I think it's different for everyone. I almost always use them every week and lose, but I have to be careful because sometimes I'll go a few extra points over the 35 and then I get in trouble. I've heard others say they can't eat the flex points so I guess it's all personal.

4.4 lbs WELL DONE!!!!!
I myself have never done the flex thingy, but will be doing it next week.
I need to get back on the WW wagon, and get A into G. From what I understand of it, is, that I will get my 20pts per day PLUS 35 each week.
Which would fit into my take a day off plans. Between that and the gym I should go quite well. Weather or not you use your flex points is up to you. But they are there if you need them, there are days where you will have the muncihies and days where you will be so good you could grow wings. lol
Good luck you are doing so well.

Hello,

Like peach said it is a personal thing and you need to work out what works for you. Lately I've been trying not to use mine, but figure that covers those BLTs I don't count and any over measuring I do. So far it's been working this summer doing it that way. I used to eat them all, and was yo-yoing up and down so I thought I'd try this.

Good luck.

Most people find they lose more consistenly when they use them than if they don't but you should play around.

My leader gave me a great tip when I started...use them from day one for at least 2 weeks (perferably 3 or 4 weeks) then if you are not losing an average of .5-2 pounds a week after than adjust them down by 7 for two weeks and re-evaluate.

I credit her tip to the fact that on maintenance I get 34-35 points a day PLUS 3-5 activity points on days I work out PLUS all the weekly points.

Flex points is why I love the plan so much. On a daily basis I can live with JUST my regular points, but there are those times that you want to go out for dinner or to a bbq or whatever. Last night I ate all my points for my day PLUS 10 more flex points! I went out for dinner, ate what I normally would and still did not go off plan, that is what I love about it. Flex points have saved me many times.
