Good morning
Tina, sorry about David too-how is the employment situation where you are? Here in Alberta we're experiencing a boom-everywhere you go there are signs up for people-
Susan, glad your nose is getting better, my eyes water just thinking about it.
Tammy, I sure wish i lived near you, I'd buy some of your stuff-
I thought at my age i'd be thinking about retiring, but here I am starting all over again-but you know I feel really good about this-I took the morning off work and just packed last of things-arranged everything in the living room so the fellows helping me can have everything pretty much in one spot-I'm out of here tomorrow-
I'm looking forward to a new beginning-I guess we're never too old

I sure hope everyone has a great friday and as soon as i get my computer hooked up at the other place i'll be back-should be tomorrow nite or sunday

take care
maureen

Tammy 04-21-2006 10:09 PM

Susan, I wish I was as positive as you are about my doctor writing the letter. I guess after the rheumatologist seemed concerned about writing one at this point, I think he'll be the same way. I agree about the downhill slide for school!
Our students have 28 more days. Hard to believe!

Maureen, you really have a great attitude about what is happening in your life! I think you are going to do just fine. I'm proud of you!!

We had a 2-hour delay this morning. The HS buses were just starting out when a really heavy fog rolled in. They called the buses back in and put out the delay. I couldn't believe how bad it got so quick. When I went to school, it was still foggy, but not as bad.

In the fog this morning, a car ran a stop sign and hit a car and killed the driver. The woman killed, Barb, was at my table when I was an assistant table leader on an Emmaus Walk. Bob knows her husband. She was in her 40's. 2 kids - the daughter is a sophomore, and I think the son is in 2nd or 3rd grade. I just feel sick about it. Such a special lady.

My aunt's funeral is tomorrow afternoon, and our alumni banquet at the school is tomorrow night. The jazz band is playing for the banquet. Since Tim is in that, Bob and I decided to go.

Tina 04-21-2006 11:08 PM

Tammy, I'm very sorry about your aunt. Did you tell us she was sick? I can't remember.
Please don't give up hope that the dr. will write you a note!!!!!

Maureen, you do have a great determination. Hurry and get your computer back up. We want to hear all about your new place.

Susan, how are you today?

We had a heavy rain this morning. The ground/grass really needed it.
I went shopping today. Ha! None of the clothes looked or fit right. I wonder about these styles.

:flow1:

Tammy 04-22-2006 09:16 PM

Tina, I don't know if I mentioned my aunt or not. She passed away last weekend. She has been living with her daughter in NC. There were originally from Ohio, near here. Funeral wasn't until today because of grandkids living all over the US. Wanted everyone to have time to get here to Ohio. After the funeral, we all went to a banquet room at one of the restaurants and ate and visited. It's sad, because I'm sure that I'll never see some of these people again.

I agree with you about the styles of clothes!! I want to go shopping and get some new things before we go to Disney. Hope I have good luck finding things.

Good morning ladies
Well, I'm moved, I was up yesterday at 5AM and was still unpacking boxes at 1AM this morning. I'm just trying to get a bit organized. I have to run out and get a few groceries, but i really think this was the best thing to do. I found my scale and according to it, i've lost another 2 lbs, so a total so far of about 15 lbs. That's since I quit smoking also.

Well, I sure hope you all have a great day and I'll be here even when i don't post
maureen

Tina 04-23-2006 11:19 AM

A happy Sunday to everyone!

Maureen, good for you, girl! I'm really so proud of you, the way you decided to take charge and get things done. You're going to be fine!!! And, remember that we are always here for each other.

It's a beautiful morning.
David came over last night. He feels better about the world now. He filed for unemployment benefits and signed up with the Texas Employment help place (can't remember the formal name). A couple of friends are looking for things for him, too.

Everyone take care, until I post again. :)
Love all of you,
Tina

Hi everyone,

I feel like I've been a stranger. I've been so tired at night that I can't do anything. Did I tell you about the center of my eye lashes falling out on both eyes? Weird huh? I called my dr. and she wants to do bloodwork because it could be my thryoid out of whack, which would explain why I'm SO tired!!! I go Tuesday for bloodwork. I'll keep you posted.

Tammy, I sure hope he writes the letter. Maybe your GP will write it for you! I'm sorry about your aunt. I know it's hard.

Tina, I hope David finds something quickly. I know you will feel better then.

Maureen, you are awesome. Go for it!!!! Change is sometimes hard but sometimes it's just what we need. We are here for you!!!

My dad's youngest brother died Saturday morning. We were expecting it. My poor dad has lost 3 out of the 5 kids in his family all within a years time, including his grandson. My uncle is in Laredo and the burial will be at Fort Sam Houston military base. My dad said "you don't need to come" they were close but he is still my uncle. I told him "I would be coming for you!!!" He said "that would be nice" So I'll go.

Let's see, I have a ton of work I should be doing but I'm avoiding it. I need to go to school and just work in my classroom but won't. Plus my badge isn't working right now, I'm waiting on a new one.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Tammy 04-23-2006 06:04 PM

Maureen, could you come and help me get some boxes unpacked? lol We've been here a while and I still have a few boxes to attend to. Good for you on your weight loss!!!

Tina, glad David is feeling better about things. Maybe this was a blessing in disguise and he'll find something wonderful.

Susan, glad that you are going to go to the doctor to get things checked out. See if your doctor will write me a note, will you???? I'm sorry about the loss of your uncle. I agree that you should be there for your dad. As for schoolwork, my school bag is in exactly the same spot that I put it on Friday when I walked in the door. Lesson plans for this week consist of spelling and math. I suppose I should do something else like reading, language, science, and social studies. I'll figure that out tomorrow morning. Not in the mood to worry about it tonight.

Had our open house today. Bob talked to the real estate agent afterwards. There were 9 or 10 couples who went through it. Only one made a negative comment about it having 1 bathroom. All the others were positive about everything. Sure hope it sells soon!!!

auntie 04-23-2006 07:41 PM

I'm making my reservations to fly down there as we speak. Amy just called with the arrangements and she said Dad said "Call Susie and tell her not to come." I'm going!!! It will just be for the day but at least I'll be there for him. That's all that matters!!!

Tammy, those people don't know what they were talking about! Did you bury St. Joseph? I tell you it works!!!!

Tammy 04-24-2006 08:12 PM

I didn't bury St. Joseph!!!!!!!!!! I totally forgot about it!!!!!!!!!! Bob isn't home right now, but when he gets here I'll tell him what you said.

I still agree about you going to be with your dad!!

I had therapy for my back after school today. Instead of going to water aerobics, I took a nap. I was pooed out.

Hope everyone is having a good day!!

auntie 04-24-2006 08:32 PM

Tammy, Make sure Bob buries him. I have know too many times it has worked. I loved water aerobics when I did it. I might do it again this summer.

I talked to my daddy and told him I was coming. He said in his sweet voice "I'm glad." That's all I needed to hear him say. He walks on water!!!! I know I've said that before!!

Amy is busy getting ready to take brownies on a camping trip this weekend. I would help her if I was there.

Tammy 04-26-2006 10:10 PM

I went to my family doctor today. After school I typed up what has been going on with the rheumatologist, water aerobics, back therapy, issues at school, etc. I explained how I'd like to use the sick days and the supt. is agreeing to it. The doctor is writing the letter! He said he'll call when he has it ready, and I can stop in to see if I think it's ok. Oh my! My BP while I was there was a little high, but I blame that because I was nervous.

Did anyone see NBC Dateline tonight? It was in Greenville, Ohio. Internet sex sting. It's about 10 minutes from my house.

I need to go to bed.

auntie 04-26-2006 11:30 PM

Tammy,
did your doctor agree to you retiring early? I'm glad you are going to use your sick days! You need the rest.

I missed Dateline tonight, just got home from a fast trip to San Antonio for my uncle's funeral. I'm really glad I went but I'm exhausted. I got to spend sometime with the kids too. It's been ages since I've seen some of my cousins. We are talking about doing a family reunion so we can all get together during a happy time. My cousin and I decided we would arrange it. Of course we'll make Amy help.

I'm off to bed. Have to go to school tomorrow. Yuck! Oh the doctor called with my lab work, my thyroid level is out of whack (which is why my eye lashes are falling out. Maybe oh Maybe it will help me lose some weight when she increases my meds.

Little Sis 04-27-2006 09:15 AM

Hi all,

I was just checking in real quick. I am going crazy trying to get ready for our Girl Scout camp out this weekend. 100% of my troop is going, which means 17 girls and 5 adults. I had my plans all ready until weather has changed. No we are expected to have thunder storms Saturday and Sunday. Which should be fun with the girls. Rain or Shine it will be lots of fun.

It was Great to see Sue yesterday. It is so hard to be so close (sometimes I think closer than twins) and be so far apart. My kids love her like they were there mother, and the feeling is mutual- I know.

Last night, after a long stressful day I feel into the trap of comfort food. Which for me is mexican food, especially pinto beans and rice. I stopped at 8:30 at a local mexican fast food restaraunt (Taco Cabana) and picked up an order of nachos and a bowl of rice chased down with a large regular Or. Pepper. Then plopped down on the couch and ate and ate and ate. While watching my TIVOed shows.

Everyone had a great and safe weekend.

Tammy 04-27-2006 08:53 PM

Susan, the doctor doesn't have a problem with me retiring early at all. We talked for a good while about school, home, and a lot of other things. He thinks that just being away from school is going to help the stress level immensely. I definitely agree to that!!

Getting together with family is great, but it is better at happier times. I know last week when we all went out to eat at a local restaurant after my aunt's funeral, it was wonderful just sitting and talking to some of my cousins. One cousin has tried to have a family reunion each summer for the past few years. Some years there are lots of people, and other years not so many.

Glad that your doctor will be able to help you!! If it helps with the weight, send me some!!

Amy, I can relate to your GS trip!! When Tim was in Tiger Cubs (1st grade), we took the crew camping. It stormed most of the weekend. Everyone still had fun (at times). lol

I slept for 2 1/2 hours tonight. Tim woke me up at 8:30. I guess I should be grading papers.
